Visited 3/5/2020 - I came here here with my girlfriend who was in town for a business conference. We generally stay at the large hotel brands but decided to try local and were really impressed. They offer complimentary breakfast which consist of buffet style and typical American breakfast offerings. The Inn is historic and has that look and feel of old time luxury with high ceilings, wood floors, and massive foyer/staircase with beautiful chandelier. They have free WiFi and I was able to get a lot of work done at the desk located in the room, in addition to getting great sleep on their oversized plush king size bed. Overall if you want something u I que and different, and don't mind spending a little bit more, this place is definitely for you! read more

Super cute place!! We want to stay here every time we come to Anderson because it's such a charming and cute boutique hotel. I was surprised that the milk and cookies thing they had nightly offered organic milk! Oh mt god and the food in the restaurant downstairs was incredible! We had dinner and breakfast there. It was divine and there weren't many people eating there both times but the quality of the food was incredible. If you want them to clean the room though you need to put the door hanger on the outside of the door (same hanger but opposite side of do not disturb) and let them know downstairs! Otherwise they won't clean it daily automatically, could be a Covid thing though and they might change that. My husband and I came here for our wedding night, and again for our 1 year anniversary. We got the biggest suite (I can't remember the title) and stayed 1 night each time. We always enjoy the food and our stay, but I've been disappointed with how dirty the bathroom was this stay. The bathtub was really bad, and I was looking forward to using it until I got closer to it. Also, it smelt really really weird (not a good smell at all), there was a light bulb out in the bathroom, and the sink was really leaky. Otherwise, it's great. Just wish it was a little cleaner and better taken care of when you pay so much. read more

So I really enjoyed staying here while in town for work as opposed to a chain hotel. When I called to book a room, there were none available for the whole time but the lady actually moved things around so I could stay there, and I actually got a suite! The bedding was to die for and the DirecTV in the rooms was nice. Once I figured out how to work the AV units those were great too. Pros: - Right in downtown Anderson so easily walkable to shops and restaurants - Bedding in the rooms is 600 thread count and feels like you're laying on a cloud! - nightly milk and cookies - free breakfast Cons: - the fitness room was semi far in a basement that reeked of mold and mildew!!!! I have allergies and get shots and I couldn't be down there for more than 3 mins without eyes watering and sneezing. There are several other spaces that could go! Needless to say I did not work out! - they are renovating the park outside and there was an odd smell in my room from the construction but that should end soon. read more

The Bleckley Inn is FAR & AWAY the BEST option in the Anderson, SC area, and quite possibly the best hotel option in the entire upstate of South Carolina. Now I know that sounds like an exaggeration, but trust me on this one! I live in NYC and I've traveled and stayed in some incredible hotels in Seattle, San Francisco, Tel Aviv Israel, London, Sydney, and Paris and The Bleckley is on par with any of those hotels in terms of quality, design, and comfort. Elegant inn with breakfast! Stayed at the Plaza section, which is 1 1/2 blocks away from the main inn and was $25 less. Huge ceilings, soft sheets and plump towels ! We had a corner room (105) with views of the quiet street from the second floor. Highly recommend this place. The main inn had breakfast with egg strata, grits, pastries, yogurt parfaits, sausage and bacon and potato casserole. All very good. read more

I really wanted to love this place, but the last two hours in my room were terribly noisy. We had finished a fresh, delicious breakfast downstairs and wanted to rest until we needed to check out. From a little after 9am to 11am when we checked out, there was non stop noise from the Inn workers breaking down a wedding setup on the floor below us. It would have been nice if they could have started the work closer to noon when people either check out or go out. Other than that issue the room was great with a kitchen, dining area, and living room. The bed was a little on the worn side, but the sheets were extra soft. I'm not sure if the other rooms lack soundproofing like this one, but I hope they can remedy the issue. read more

Such a beautiful place to stay! I stayed in the separate building overlooking Main Street, parking was convenient, took an elevator up to the room and there is a restaurant and rooftop patio. The room was gorgeous with many amenities (mini fridge, large bathroom and tub, robe, remote controlled AC unit, etc.) Extremely clean and super comfy bed and pillows. Outside of building and lobby are beautiful. Breakfast area was very cute and the breakfast was authentic and fresh, lots of options. read more

WOW!! WOW! JUST WOW! We stayed at the Bleckley for a VERY significant college reunion...1/2 a century. The entire inn is gorgeous, luxurious, intriguing, tastefully decorated...Our two Queen room was clean, no objectionable smells. The bathroom/dressing area was HUGE; no bumping elbows trying to get ready. There is complimentary bottled in the fridge. The mattresses were indescribably comfortable. The lobby area is appointed with comfortable sofas, loveseats, slipper chairs, interesting art work and historical information. And then the meals. Complimentary breakfast consisting of hash brown casserole, grits, sausage, bacon, biscuits, assorted sweet rolls, cereals, grapefruit, fruit salad, grits, egg and cheese casserole, toast, juices, teas, coffee.And did you see--COMPLIMENTARY! Our class also reserved their venue for our post reunion gathering and HEAVENS at the food. Chicken Salad on crossoints, pork tenderloin snuggled in a cheese biscuit, assorted cheeses, meats and crackers. But that's not all. We also had Brie baked en croute, a selection of fresh fruit...strawberries,blueberries, apple slices, FRESH mandarin oranges, red and green grapes, all with a delicious sweetened yogurt dip. There was a cash bar offering a variety of beers, wines and cocktails. And as if that's not more than enough, the staff is charming and fun and uber eager to please. Our one half century college reunion was totally excellent due to the highly professional, competent capabilities of the Bleckley Inn. Work recently had a departmental conference at Bleckley Inn. It is beautiful The ceilings in the rooms soar and the setting/décor is the perfect blend of true restoration + modern upscale comfort. The dining area / continental breakfast are is lovely with a centered sky light. Huge sitting area and sweeping staircase in the lobby. Smallish conference are, but plenty big for our group of 10. I believe I heard that there are 15 rooms in the main building + 10 more on main street, accessible by a secure elevator that opens to the street. My room was HUGE and sleep was restful and very comfortable. The place is central and lovely and the rates were extremely competitive. read more

I can't believe Anderson has an upscale hotel like this! I'm from here but live in Atlanta and stayed here for a work trip. The staff was attentive, went above and beyond and treated you like family. Lets talk about the breakfast, you will never find a breakfast like this in any upscale chain hotel provider. I give the cheese hashbrowns and Praline Bacon 5 stars alone! The beds were like jumping into a pile of marshmallows, extremely comfortable. Next time you're in the area or even if you need a "staycation", you certainly won't be disappointed! read more

Gorgeous room. Stayed in the annex a block away by the courthouse over the J Peter restaurant. No idea what the rooms are like in the main inn, but these are beautifully restored with hardwood floors, large bathrooms and the most magnificent sheets in the world. I had a work trip in Anderson and chose to stay at the Bleckley Inn. From the friendly staff, comfortable bedding (you feel like you are laying on a pillow of clouds), robes hanging in the closet, water bottles stocked in the refrigerator, and all the extras. The place is awesome on a variety of levels: 1. Had my daughters wedding reception and the groom's family had the rehearsal dinner there - the service and help the staff gave was first class the entire weekend. 2. As part of our package we had all of the rooms (suites) rented. You could not ask for a better room with a full kitchen, bath, sitting room etc. And oh, how that bed slept. 3. The food, as part of the deal was a free breakfast which was one of the best I have ever had. The Almond Bacon is super thick and out of this world - if you are in the Anderson Area and just want a great breakfast buffet - I highly recommend just coming in and getting the buffet from the Bleckley. Highly recommend staying at this lovely hotel. It is a GEM! My husband and I usually stay at another hotel close to the interstate. However, my sister who lives in Anderson suggested that we stay at the Bleckley Inn as she had heard many wonderful things about it. Was she ever right!!!! So glad that we took her advice. The hotel is just lovely and the staff was wonderful. We enjoyed eight glorious days at this boutique hotel and pinched ourselves for finding this place. The owners, Steve and Lynn Kay, have made this property a 'must-stay' destination. From the beautiful decor to the location, you cannot beat this place as a home away from home. Just loved this place. Breakfast was beyond wonderful!! We gained five extra pounds as we enjoyed the brown sugared bacon, grits, eggs strata, fresh fruit, pastries, cereals, coffee and many more items from which to select. We stayed in a plaza room right on Main Street (there are two locations - the plaza is right on main and the main hotel is just behind main) everything is gorgeous...really classy finishes and CLEAN! There's a high end little kitchenette in the room and a coffee pot and robes and the whole nine yards. Even chocolate on the bed! There's also a rooftop sitting area that's just for guests. We went up with two glasses of wine after a long road trip...and had it to ourselves. It was perfect. Put our feet up and just chilled. Really wonderful. Looking forward to the included free breakfast at the main hotel this morning. Be sure to visit Johnny Angels for happy hour and Summa Joe's for dinner! read more

The room was super clean with high ceilings, comfortable bed and very spacious bathroom. There was a custom molded chocolate on our bed...the chocolate came from a local chocolatier. Milk & cookies from 8-10 in the upstairs ice room, which was a really nice little perk. The included breakfast was AWESOME...egg/sausage casserole, hash brown casserole, grits, praline bacon, yogurt parfaits, pastries, fruit, oj/coffee, etc. If we are ever in Anderson again, we will be staying here. The staff was also extremely friendly and helpful. There was also in-room coffee and two bottles of water in the fridge for us. read more

My wife and I got married at the Bleckley Inn in 2015. We returned this weekend for our four year anniversary. The experience exceeded all expectations. There was a very thoughtful hand written note waiting for us in our room, along with chocolate covered strawberries and a bottle of sparkling cider (wife is pregnant).
