I am quite surprised that Parker Quigley has not been reviewed on Yelp…read more We listed with Kelin Ashley at Parker Quigley because the group had a solid grasp of the market around Lake Hartwell. Our home was very well maintained, on excellent water, easy access to I85, and a simple drive to Atlanta... an ideal place for someone living in Atlanta to have a weekend home on the lake. Being prudent we asked for a second opinion on the value of our place. The second agent came in more than $100,000 lower. I think this was because she was not familiar with the value of lake property, and certainly did not account for the many unique points that made our property valuable to the Atlanta market. The agency hired an professional photographer to produce still shots as well as a video tour of the property. He used drones to provide a unique view of the home and the surrounding lake. Kelin, assisted us in the negotiating phase where the buyers wanted $40,000 to $60,000 in additional property (appliances, furniture, etc, as well as a substantial cut in the asking price). We held strongly with our price and rather than leaving maybe $90K on the table we got essentially more than we initially planned on and just one or two minor concessions regarding repairs and items that the buyer wanted. Bottom line, we left the table with almost exactly what we agreed to as the full price. Kelin arranged for repairs to our back deck railing as well as one other minor issue. We were relieved to avoid dealing with those matters. Communicating with Kelin was a breeze. We received immediate or slightly delayed responses to every inquiry and request. Within a few days of putting the home on the market we had two solid offers to pick from. Kelin assisted us in selecting the most reasonable one of those. In just a few days we had a solid contract that we were thrilled with. No drama, no problems... Definitely one of the most informed groups in the area. They understand the market here and can get you a great price with very little hassle.

If I were you, I would not even THINK about staying here, especially if you are looking for a nice…read moreplace to get away. The pictures all look fine, and I was just looking for basic accommodations after moving across the country and starting a professional job. I rented a cabin, paid upfront, sight unseen, and was HORRIFIED to find the filthiest, worst-smelling trash pit with paint peeling off of the ceiling and so much mildew in the bathroom that the floor in the shower looked brown (it was white after I cleaned it). I did everything I could to clean and get rid of the smell. $100 of cleaning supplies and 30 days later, it was still horrible, although not as bad. I took down the curtains and had them haul them away the first week. My hands turned BROWN from handling the fabric. The curtains in the kitchen were heavy with old grease. People would knock on my door all hours of the night, and anyone could walk in at any time as the french doors can be pushed open and then pulled back in place with the latch at any time. Most of the people seem to be living there permanently, which is a shame unless their cabins are a lot nicer than mine was. Management did a poor job pretending to be surprised that I was upset by the smell, but then said something about the last tenants, and they were "looking into it"... Um, weren't you the ones who supposedly "cleaned" the place??? Such a rip-off, and it didn't even end when I left. They bogusly charged me for a missing remote control. Really pitiful considering the scam they pulled on me to start with. Lesson learned - even when you are desperate, don't EVER give all of the money until you have seen the place. In my situation, I didn't have any options because my family dropped me off and I had to start work soon. This place really is scary. Don't let the "ok" website fool you!!! And to be clear, I was prepared for REALLY basic, budget accommodations, but NOTHING could prepare me for this. I still can't wash the smell out of some of my belongings... The only good comments to be found about this place are in regards to the restaurant, but after I saw what their standard of "cleanliness" is, I highly recommend avoiding that as well!!!!!!!!!

Where do I start?…read more Pictures and information on the website are misleading. They no longer allow you to rent boats (it says you can on the website) and the "lake access" they have is mainly a dock. The 'beach' area is only about 3 feet wide. The campsites are small and poorly marked. We had to guess which one was ours since there wasn't a sign. The middle of our picnic table had been eaten almost entirely by termites - only leaving two slats on either side. The campsites are almost entirely dirt - not nearly the amount of grass the pictures on the internet showed, and were surrounded by trees that looked as through they would fall any minute from being eaten by termites. We were uninformed of an event they were having when we made our reservation. The event included boats and people coming and going all day. This made it impossible to go to the water since boats were covering not only the shoreline, but docks as well. The people who came weren't informed of the rules as they kept walking through everyone's campsites, and someone even let their dog 'do their business' in someone else's campsite. Had we known this event was happening (we're from out of town) we would have chosen a different weekend. Don't camp here - save yourself the headache and go somewhere else.
