I heard they do good steaks but I was craving for a burger so being the smart me, I ordered a steak burger. Turns out there wasn't 20% off this one but it was a good deal of $10 with any drink of your choice! We also ordered the 300g rump steak and the Panko crumbed prawns, which consisted of a good serve of 10 prawns, tartare sauce, chips and salad. Much to my disappointment, my order was forgotten and I had to wait for half an hour before it arrived. The waitress was very kind and apologised for the delay and even offered me another drink! I was going to turn a blind eye to the food delay until I bit into my burger! The steak patty was chewy and I just could not take another bite. At this point, it was already past 8.30pm which is when the kitchen closes but the waitress was again, kind enough to re-make my order. I decided to swap to Panko crumbed prawns instead and they happily did it for me. Overall, I wouldn't say this was a completely bad experience. Yes, the steak burger is a definitely a no-no for me on my next visit but the rump steak, which I got to taste, was surprisingly quite tender. The good service also made my experience a whole lot better. Harry's bar has a nice old country pub feel as you enter, so I definitely recommend this place if you're looking for a quiet spot to drink. They do also have partitions if you're wanting to organise your next function here.

Maybe I didn't dig too deep into the place, or maybe it was just that it was only a sports bar, but when I came back here recently they had completely opened up the uppper level. Oh, as it is with Adelaide, sure enough when I wandered into this pub I ran straight into a couple of old friends of mine, so I ended up killing some time with them. They actually had a decent selection of beers on tap, and the balcony was also pretty cool. In fact it is a much better addition to the Adelaide pub scene that this place used to be.

Well, in a way it is basically just another one of those suburban pubs with a rather suburban atmosphere. Sure, it really isn't one of the best, but it still does have some charm about the place.

If you pick your nights here you can grab a great value for money meal. I've been on Tuesday and Wednesday nights where they have schnitzel specials on Tuesdays and steak specials the next night. They also offer you the choice of chips or mash potato with your meals, which seems to be a rarity. Then they have a selective salad bar to nibble at before or during your meal, which was amazing. There were such things as a vegetable bake, potato salad, rice salad, coleslaw, roasted vegetables. I'm sure they alternate the options for different nights. The meals were really good. For what you pay I feel it is decent. The serving sizes aren't huge, but along side the salad bar I still walked away feeling very satisfied. My steak was cooked to perfection. I order a rare and it was delicious. They also don't seem to take long at all to run your meals out. There were quite a few people in the cue to order when I did, yet still there wasn't much a wait for meals. I've actually asked them to hold off starting our meals as we wanted to enjoy some of the salad bar first before our meals. I absolutely wouldn't rule out coming back here on a regular basis, particularly with a friend for an easy catch up dinner on a weeknight perhaps. The ambience is very relaxed and not at all noisy, even when half the dining room is full, and everything is very easily accessible.

However, as I have suggested, this is an awesome pub, if only because of the Colonial India theme that literally permeates the place. It is more of a restaurant than a pub, though it does have a front bar. One of the great things about this pub though is that there are lots of little rooms which you can book for your dinner party, meaning that you can dine in private. Certainly a place to check out, especially if you are looking for a place to have a dinner party (I've done it and it was great).

There are plenty of choices from the mildest Butter Chicken up to a 'Fire in a Bowl' Fish Vindaloo (well, they were the options tonight) Although the pricing is bargain basement, the flavours and serving size is anything but. All are served with Rice, Raita and Naan (Garlic or plain). *One stipulation is that a drink must be purchased per meal. Excluding a fresh coat of paint, updated carpet, the front bar bar is still in original form (including the regulars that drink there). Look out for the snake bite specials, going out at 10 bucks a jug. You can still catch a local rock/punk band playing on your favourite night of the week (I can't remember what night that is). A step through the corridor and past an ATM, will take you to another bar with big screen TV's and a decent coctail menu. Bi-fold glass doors open up to Moseley Square. This place is more upmarket, so leave your flannel shirt and the previous bar, and whack on your Don Travisty instead. If you're over front bar action, head to rear bistro which has the vibe and decor that reflects a Goldcoast Casino in the 90's. The schnittys are hot, and still at fair bistro prices. Finish your meal to the ambience of a water feature, and if you need time to re-coup, the pokies are just to the right. When you're ready to move on, take 5 steps to the rear car park, or continue on to "The G"

Interestingly when the pub first opened back in 1869, it was known as The Jetty Hotel so it has gone back to its original name. If you like to listen to some music while you sip your drink, The Jetty has live bands on most Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights. When the bands aren't playing they have a jukebox in the front bar that's rocking from 7 each night and on Wednesdays you can get into a bit of karaoke if that's your thing. The Jetty Hotel isn't a ritzy experience. It's the kind of pub where you have a beer and put your bets on if you're in the front bar but it is a good place to watch the world go by. If you're in the market for a bite to eat, you can get a good feed either in the front bar or the Watergarden Bistro. They also have a café and a function room to accommodate close to 150 people. Should you so desire you can stay at The Jetty. It has 16 rooms and the rooms are well priced.

A…read morefriend who frequent this place regularly thinks it serves solid food and is good value. So, tonight we agreed to have dinner here. The club resembles more of a typical pub than a club. The menu has pub favourites like schnitzels, pizzas and steak. Access to the salad and vegie bar and soups is included with a main meal. I picked a chicken parmagiana while my friend had the curry special chicken korma. Both dishes came out in a timely manner and was really nice. My schnitzel looked small, but it was tasty and filling. I also had both the soups on offer; french onion and chicken vegetable, along with the baked vegetables, so needless to say, I was comfortably full. The chicken korma was great according to my friend, but not enough of it. Due to the club extension, the price increase to food and drinks was understandable. However, I think paying over $20 for a schnitzel is steep for a community club. I do appreciate the use of chicken breast though. The only other gripe would be the cold and unseasoned chips. They do offer a three course lunch special which I am keen to come back for. They also have another dining area, which has a limited menu, but I heard is better value if you don't care about the salad and vegie bar. From the main dining room, you could watch a game being played outside thanks to the high glass windows. Final note: not bad, but not amazing. Will return because it is close and am keen to try their weeknight specials.

Despite - or perhaps because of - my hipsterishness, I have however tried to acquire a taste for all three of these things. The Rosemont isn't exactly a regular of mine. But occasionally when I've had a few free wines at an opening and am heading back to the east side of Hindley - or when I've had a few more beers and I'm heading somewhere on the west side of Hindley - I stop at the Rosemont to drink their cheap long island ice teas (Thursday nights) or to try and learn how to play pool adequately. In true sports bar style, the murky red carpet and the multitude of tv screens and flashy pokies usually makes me dizzy before I've even had my first drink there. To put it politely, it's a pretty rowdy place. This suits me fine past 9pm, but in the middle of the day when I walk past I do feel a bit uncomfortable.
