I had high hopes for this place. I haven't seen many Indian restaurants in Adelaide and none that claim to do Indian food with a twist.
I came in expecting Indian fusion which it kind of managed with the tandoori chicken spring rolls - however that was the high and the rest was, well, kind of average at best.
Service was polite and friendly however I couldn't shake the lonely and dull vibe it had. There was literally only one staff member seen doing everything.
Decor was not what I expected - it's almost like someone hasn't changed it since the ??previous owners - it's decked out like a night club or bar rather than a restaurant. I think this is also why the dining experience feels a bit awkward.
Overall I would say the food was cooked well and with an obvious attempt to appear "different" I.e a jug of curry sauce comes with a plate of tandoori chicken and you have to pour the sauce on to chicken (usually Indian curries come out as curries- no pouring/mixing required) I thought this was essentially a good idea but the food ended up going a bit cold.
The side of rice was tasty - good use of peas and onions in this dish (I could eat this as a dish on its own!)
I hope they will upgrade their decor and seating to be more inviting. I think part of the issue is one cannot see inside this place when strolling past.... This has put me off entering on many a time! read more
