Great bakery for bread and baked goods! I only tried their cookies and brownies, but next time I return here I'll definitely get a loaf of bread and some other pastries. I got an m&m cookie, peanut butter, and snickerdoodle. Their cookies are HUGE! I loved how the cookies are so large. Out of the three my favorite was the peanut butter. This is a well loved local bakery. We are newish to town and really want to support small business. Unfortunately we were somewhat disappointed in the baked goods specifically sourdough, and anything pastry- danishes, turnovers, etc. there isn't any competition in town, so maybe good enough has been good enough?? Our hope in leaving the review isn't to be malicious, but to give some honest feedback, because the opportunity is there for this place to be an amazing bakery, with some upgraded recipes/processes. I tend to drive to snohomish bakery instead of staying local, I'd much rather stay close. read more

WOW. JUST WOW! I'm a member of a group of Aviation Enthusiasts (the Cascade Warbirds--www.cascadewarbirds.org) and we recently had a "FUN DAY" gathering at the Arlington Airport. Hammond Bread made box lunches for out 70 members in attendance and they were FANTASTIC! Hammond Bread took our order earlier in the week, put together yummy, fresh sandwiches with a drink, chips and cookie, labelled them with the name of the person ordering and delivered them to us ON TIME. Popped in on my lunch to check out the sandwiches I heard about, but ended up leaving with a sausage and cheddar turnover instead. I deliberated over the sausage cheddar and the bacon cheddar, both looked savory which was exactly what I was looking for. For $5 it seemed steep, but the warmed turnover served its purpose of a light snack for lunch. It was just the right amount if cheddar and sausage filling, the flakiness was perfection, and the flavor was fab! The olive rosemary bread would be great...if it had olives. Very few pieces found, for 10.50 a loaf, they could afford to put in more olives. Maybe they use diced and they get lot in the mix? Great rosemary flavor though. read more

Came here last Saturday morning around 10:30. We were not greeted when walking in and we were the only customers in the store. Tried to get 3 different things listed on the menu board and the young man just said, "we're out." At this point I wanted to leave but my husband felt bad and ordered the ham and cheese croissant sandwich. We received a dried out, day old croissant with only ham and cheddar cheese for $9. Disappointed because I wanted to love this place but being out of multiple bakery items and then receiving a low quality sandwich, and lack of customer service, I don't think we will be back. Ew. Holy sugar! Cinnamon rolls have zero flavor other than SWEET, cannot taste the cinnamon or cream cheese frosting-- it's all just varying textures of SUGAR. Cannot eat it. Felt like I got diabetes just having two bites! There was so much sugar, in fact, that the cinnamon filling had completely crystallized, and the frosting tasted like a powdered sugar glue. The bread part was ultra dry and blah. So sad, because I really love supporting small independent businesses. The other items I got were uber greasy from excessive butter, and we just had to toss before finishing because we got stomachaches. Please use less sugar and less butter/oil. Place is cute but service was kinda rude and dismissive like I was an inconvenience since I didn't know immediately what I wanted to get. Oh well. Hagen's grocery store bakery has WAY better cinnamon rolls. read more

I accidentally walked in on a Monday which happened to be one of their closed days and I didn't realize--but despite that they still let me place an order. I ordered two large cupcakes for a gender reveal that was happening that following Saturday. I picked up the cupcakes that Saturday, and from the get go the cupcakes felt loose in the box which worried me. After a short walk to my car, I opened the box and saw that one cupcake had been flipped upside down and the other was crammed against the side, smooshing the icing. There was no support system in the box so the cupcakes were destroyed which was a bummer because I could tell the design was beautiful. I know I absolutely could've turned around and went back inside, but with it being 4:30 (half an hour before close) and the same afternoon dad and I were supposed to find out the gender--there was really no point. The cupcakes were absolutely yummy and we're really happy with the gender, I'm just upset there seemed to be no security in the packaging. read more

Came into Arlington for the first time. ( we moved from CA to Lake) Stevens We came across this bakery on our way out of town and decided to stop. The staff was very friendly and gave us tips about the town. We bought cherry danish, some cut up apple fritter type cake and a rustic bread. Everything was soooo fresh and tasty... We decided it's worth an occasional ride back to try out other items in the shop including the cinnamon bread , cinnamon rolls and their gigantic sized cookies! I come to the Hammond Bread Bakery every couple of weeks and it never disappoints. Fair prices and if you get there early enough, you have the best chance to try everything for the day. Staff if always as nice and have no problems answering questions about their items. read more

I miss a good bakery. This is barely adequate. Wheat bread is bland, danishes taste like Safeway. Cupcakes were dry. I guess their cinnamon rolls are good (I never order them), but after several tries over the past year, I am not tempted to ever go back. (There is a really good cupcake bakery in Stanwood, but I have yet to find a good general bakery in this area. Would LOVE some delicious homemade whole wheat bread.) read more

Went in today and bought a small pan of 3 cinnamon rolls and a chocolate chip cookie with M&Ms on top. I just tried to take a fork to the cinnamon rolls and they were so hard that I couldn't cut into it with the fork. Had to get a table knife. Wife says the cookie was pretty good though. I've gotten a few yum yums from time to time and everything is fantastic. My personal fave so far though were the absolutely delightful Pride cookies Hammond made in support of Arlington's 2nd annual Pride event. They were absolutely delicious! Great little spot in downtown. I came in here for lunch on a slow Wednesday. The lady who greeted me at the counter was very friendly and happy to explain all their sandwich options. I opted for the chicken salad on a croissant, and a raspberry croissant to take home. The chicken salad was fresh and flavorful and I liked the sweetness the grapes added to it. They had many options for bread loaves to buy, and I will probably be coming back for their sourdough soon. The only thing I would change is it was pretty gloomy, wish it felt more welcoming! read more

Pleasantly surprised. I had the strawberry and cheese danish, with a small coffee. Everything about the danish was good. It's noon so they seemed pretty low on stock of a lot but they were rebuilding. The cookies looked well made, you kinda have a sense that a cookie that has a little love put into it. I will definitely have to try other things. The inside is cozy, they have a covered outside picnic table and a bench that is covered. It looks like they make handmade sandwiches too but there was literally only one left. I would like to see what this place offers early morning. I'm in love with this shop! My family & I stopped by after taking a walk with our kids after not knowing this lovely shop had opened a few months ago. The owner was so kind & helped entertain our crazy toddler, even helping us find a dairy free/coconut free item. We purchased a few cookies & immediately went wide eyed because of how yummy they were!! My toddler loved his apple turnover. So happy that they have options that are allergen friendly for our family. A few days later my husband went back & got their cinnamon roll & more cookies. Best cinnamon roll EVER. The salted malted chocolate chip cookies are the best cookies I've ever had as well as all the bread products. The owner, Lauren, is hilarious and kind. However, both the Bakery and farmers market stand where out of not only the olive, but the rustic bread as well. This was our last weekend in Washington, we're heading back home to California and wanted to take some back to share with family and friends along the way!! I had made room in my tiny RV freezer!! All you had left on your self was Sourdough, I hate Sourdough!! Why would you run out by noon on a farmers market day??
