air conditioner is too close to the bed.

The purpose of the trip was to celebrate a birthday. What we got in return was a very disappointing experience. First be advised - this is NOT a place for couples. This is a family oriented resort. Even in areas designated for adults, children of all ages will be running around and yelling. Upon arrival the hotel computers were down and the place was chaotic and the concierge staff were miserable. The whole resort was tied into the computer system so even if you wanted to buy a bottle of water it was back to the old school way of filling out forms. This is also not a hotel per say as 300 of the 700 units are rented out while the others are for residents. Our room smelled of mildew, the toilet made a loud noise for minutes with every flush and the air handler was 5 feet from the bed preventing you from getting any rest due to the noise. The room we rented was the King Ocean Suite. The cleanliness of room was fair at best and we dared not walk barefoot on the carpet. The room needs renovation and so does the facility. Its very dated. There is only one place to get coffee, water and snacks. Its open from 7AM to 3PM and there is not any room service. Room service was discontinued in 2019. Otherwise you are forced to get food from one of the restaurants which is open till midnight. Be prepared to fight for your lounge chair. Pool chairs are not accessible until 9AM and most people just drop towels to declare ownership and leave. It's very unpleasant. We ended up being forced to reserve lounge chairs via their website at $15.00 per chair per day to guarantee seats. Delfino restaurant was OK. The pork chop milanease was good but we did not like the pasta dish. Atlantic Grille was a complete disaster for the birthday dinner. I ended up eating alone as the other party had to wait for the entree to be fixed two times and then it was declined! They did end up comping us the meal but it was a complete disappointment. In short, I would not recommend this for a vacation. You can do a lot better and overall the staff are miserable and poorly trained. However, Mia, the manager Alberta and Collin did their best to make a bad situation a little bit better. Enclosed are pics of the air conditioning unit near the bed and a video of the toilet noise.

A fantastic place to park your car so you can go to the beach. You don't have to be a guest to enjoy this perk.

Lighthouse restaurant amazing SERVICE was amazing head chef Marco was amazing. Came out and checked on us to make sure everything was OK.

Garbage that had been in place for over 3 hrs, while nobody came to clean.

The resort looks appealing, but it isn't worth the cost. We booked a villa for a long weekend family getaway, drawn by the variety of pool amenities and family activities. Unfortunately, it resembled a spring break all-inclusive resort. The only rule of the resort that appeared to be firm was the 48-inch height requirement for the pool slide. Our 47.5-inch son was denied access. Meanwhile, patrons littered the pool area with empty alcohol cans and trash, and staff ignored the mess as if it didn't exist. There were nowhere enough tubes for the lazy river given the people and beer cans floating around made it even less desirable. The most enjoyable part of our stay was the off-site activities. While the resort has high appeal, it didn't live up to the hype and we won't be returning.

Ours was just such an odd experience. I read another comment that summed up our experience pretty well: There's an obvious preference for the resort members over the resort guests. Ive never felt so uncomfortable, like I didn't belong, until I stayed at this resort. -delayed check-in -keycard didn't work -a/c not working properly -view blocked by large white -warm in common areas of The Lodge (elevator and 3rd floor) -pools are small -mini-golf very small and closes at 6pm -bathing suits not allowed in lobby -beach access closed Mon-Fri -not enough seating at pools -hard to reach anyone at the front desk -only one luggage cart at The Lodge -outdated -and my biggest complaint: borderline rude staff I would've left if I could have received a refund.

Stayed at Hammock Beach Golf Resort for a work trip. I am completely surprised by the overall 3-star rating as my experience was 5-star, without question. Spectacular views, an amazing golf course, and attentive, friendly service. The rooms were huge with a seating area and a large balcony where you could see the golf course, and ocean. They have beach access, several high quality restaurants, as well as fast casual options. Really not a reason to leave the resort, but St. Augustine and Daytona are both about a 30-minute drive if you are looking for some more to do. Had dinner at their reservation chop house one night. The sides and appetizers were just okay, but the porterhouse steak was 10 STARS and easily made up for it. Great drinks and huge bourbon collection. I will definitely return as this was a great stay and great resort.

Excellent resort. The golf course is immaculate and the hotel is elegant and fun. Play mini-golf with the kids or take a bike ride around the beautiful property or simply take long walks on the beach... the place is beautiful. Great restaurants on premises which are all in walking distance. Romos were big and comfortable also lots of self parking spaces available in a covered garage.

This resort is perfect if R&R is on the agenda. Beautiful views with a peaceful, serene atmosphere. We stayed in the newly renovated 3 bedroom premium ocean view condominium. This beachfront resort has several restaurants on property. They also have many activities to entertain the entire family. There's a spa, putting course, golf course, bicycling, pools, and boardwalk shops just to name a some. We didn't need to leave property! The staff were friendly and ensured we were comfortable. Everyone greeted us with a smile and offered assistance if needed. We will definitely be back!

I recently stayed here and had a nice stay. My friend and I stayed in The Lodge building - which is right by the beach. It's a smaller building (especially compared to the main part of the resort) that is only two stories with all the rooms upstairs and the downstairs is the restaurant The Atlantic and store. We had a beautiful ocean view and enjoyed sitting on our balcony. There is a pool at this building (as well as several other ones around the resort, including an indoor pool). We did not go to the pool, only the beach. I had reserved lounge chairs in advanced for the beach. I also reserved an umbrella but because the wind was over a certain mph we could not use it. The main hotel lobby was really nice. There are several restaurants at the resort. We ate at Loggerheads and The Atlantic. Both were good. At night there was a lot of activity going on with mini golf, live music and more. They have Adirondack chairs overlooking the golf course and beach that we enjoyed chilling in. We also enjoyed some time at the spa. We got spa pedicures and the woman who did us both was great. She did a great job, but also was a joy to talk to. Our room at The Lodge was really nice and clean. The bed was comfortable and the furniture was nice and more updated. The only reason I'm giving a 4 stars is because twice we asked for somethings (more pillows and the 2nd time a hair dryer) to be brought to our room and even though we were told it would be brought it never was. I would most likely come here again and bring my kids since it seems like a great overall family resort.

We had a fun family weekend staying in a 3 bedroom. Lots of pools to choose from during the day and I think we went in all of them! If we could do it again, we would get there when the pools open to get chairs together. It rained several times (it's Florida) and when they closed the pools due to lightning, we went quickly to the indoor pool to wait out the rain and get chairs in there and then got chairs at the main kids pool when we were allowed back in. The guys played golf two days on two dirterent courses and we got to see them when they were on the 18th hole on the ocean course, from our 7th floor balcony! The main tower is quiet at night and it looks like many of the regulars don't stay there every weekend. The 1 bedroom suites were all fully booked on Saturday night so book early if you just need one bed and one room. The place is clean, could use some updating but truly is clean. Try this place-it is great!

My friends and I booked a premium suite for the weekend! We felt like we were on a tropical island. The room was nicely decorated, clean and contained useful items we need for cooking and bathing. Can't wait to go back for another girls weekend!

Ask the Community - Hammock Beach Resort

Do they do in-room dining? Might seem like a silly question, but I don't see a menu on the website.

No but there are restaurants on site and a great Publix nearby with ready made meals, plus lots of restaurants will deliver too.

Is there a dress code for dinner?

I have never seen one posted and we have stayed here twice. I would say most are in business casual but I have seen many in shorts as well

Are they open to the public for the pool/beach like most of the hotels in Daytona?

Atlantic Grill is open to the public. The rest of Hammock Beach Club is not, just guest and members.

The unit was clean and comfortable overall, though the sofa and recliner are quite worn and could use replacing. The TV was new, but not set up correctly when we arrived, and after setup it offered only a few basic channels, so we had to rely on the free Roku streaming service for entertainment. The most frustrating issue was the bed foundation, which sticks out at the corners. It's easy to bump into, so be cautious around the bed.

However, I was woken up at 1am to the sounds of my son screaming from the guest room. He had bed bugs crawling all over him and they were all over the bed. I immediately called guest services and they had the security guard move us to the last remaining room. He was very helpful and apologetic. We left the most exposed belongings in the room to be properly sanitized. The second room we were moved to (Room 17A) was absolutely disgusting and appeared to have never had any upkeep or care. Everything was outdated and holes were sloppily patched over. Upon doing a thorough bed bug search in this room, the mattresses in the bedrooms appeared to be okay but the one on the sofa bed had potential remnants of bed bugs. When we called guest services, we were told there were no other available rooms. My son that had been bitten by the bed bugs was very traumatized by the event and decided to sleep in the cold car rather than risking it with another mattress. Needless to say, none of us slept that first night. The manager called the next morning a little after 9am and offered us a new room (Room 13B). This was a very nice room and did not seem to have any bed bugs. The only compensation the hotel would agree to was to reimburse us for the first night and refund our resort fees (which are ridiculous considering the fact that the property is run down and has very little in the way of amenities). My sons and I ended up spending over 1/3 of our trip moving our belongings, sanitizing everything, and repeatedly washing and drying clothes to ensure that we did not bring any critters home with us. After moving to 17B on our 2nd morning, I took a drive over to 3A to make sure that we did not leave any belongings behind. I immediately noticed that the room had been completely made up, looking as though they were readying it to be rented out again. I questioned the housekeeping Manager about it and she stated that it would be illegal for them to rent the room out before having it inspected. However, it was suspicious as to why they would make up the room if it was going to be inspected. Do not stay here!
