I finally picked it up today, March 3, 2021. It was still not ready. I had to wait for 30 minutes for the backing to be put on. They kept giving me excuses when I called from the beginning of February (when they said it was being done "this week") and again at the end of February (when they said they forgot to bring it from their workshop). You can see in the photos that there is not only a gap in the top of the frame, but also a HAIR inside the frame. What's more, I had to trim the backing that was hastily put on and had creases in the backing. It was completely put on crooked. I wasn't going to write this because I know the economy is not great right now. But even with some discount they gave me, the work was still over $500. I'm so upset. It's such a beautiful piece of art, and it looks like someone at Target framed it. I have to have it redone - and spend other hundreds of dollars to do it.

I was told the framing job would take 3 weeks. It took two months. To the day. 2. The first time the piece was "ready", the wrong materials were used. Time, energy and tremendous detail had gone into choosing the right frame for this mixed media lithograph and everything was noted in the work order. What came back was a completely different frame. Add to that, the mat was the wrong shade. NOT what I'd chosen. 3. The fine rice paper had been mounted on foam board and attached all the way around so that the movement of the piece was lost. It wasn't "floated" per my request - it was literally flattened so that any of the subtleties in texture and design were removed and homogenized. 4. The second time the piece was "ready", another mat had been substituted for the color I had chosen. It again had to go back to the framer. 5. I had to phone the gallery in Boston that sold me the piece to have them walk the framer through "how to frame this piece of art." 6. An apology was never uttered - not by the "designer", not by the framer and not by the owner who was actually present on the day I finally picked up my piece. I got one "thanks for your patience" but somehow that felt weak against the mountain of muck-ups. Anxiety producing? Check. Exhausting? Check. Worth the $76 I "saved" by getting a deal through Living Social? Nope. Lesson learned the hard way.

Instead of a polite correction or guidance, the owner abruptly stormed out from the back and shouted "WHOA WHOA WHOA! WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!"--startling both of us. My wife apologized immediately and tried to explain we weren't aware there was a specific process, but that didn't stop him from continuing to raise his voice and snatching the poster from her hands. He then gave us an unnecessarily condescending lecture about how "it's really just common sense." Even after my wife apologized again and said she would remember for next time, he kept going. His tone was rude, patronizing, and completely disproportionate to the situation. We decided to leave without buying anything because we simply didn't want to be treated that way. To the owner: if you don't want customers touching merchandise, that's completely understandable--but then clearly post signs asking people not to handle items without assistance. Don't assume people know your process, and definitely don't talk down to them when they make a simple mistake. Your behavior was unprofessional, and it ruined what should have been a simple, pleasant shopping experience. We won't be returning, and we sincerely hope others are treated with more basic courtesy and respect than we were.

Mark and Rod with Pristine pools came out to discuss the situation and after research we determined that our lining was 25 years old. Way past what is expected. Pristine measured the pool and gave us a quote. They walked us through the steps and costs including letting us know what might be extras. Since this was in December we thought we might be stuck with an ugly pool until the rains stopped in April. Pristine took advantage of the lack of rain in early January. Drained the pool, added a new lining and skimmer and had it ready within a week. And it looks great. No leaks and came in as budgeted. Highly recommend

After the Tubbs Fire wiped us out in 2017, the first order of business before rebuilding the house…read morewas to replace the above-ground pool that Rod at Pristine Pool and Spa had installed 28 years earlier in 1989. It's hard to believe the Doughboy pool he installed lasted us that long! But it did. Truly impressive. We were pretty satisfied customers. We looked up Pristine Pool in Forestville and were thrilled that Rod and his son Mark were still in business. We called and discussed the project, and Rod came over and took some measurements. In no time at all, Rod had a backhoe and crew over to clear the site of fire debris and prepare the area for a bigger, deeper, and way more funner pool than we had before. Four potable water truck deliveries later, the pool was finally filled, and my three dogs were again happy campers. Well, we were too. It took eight weeks from start to finish. Rod coordinated everything needed -- site excavation, surface preparation, pool wall and liner installation, pool filtration, startup, and chemicals. Everything worked out as expected. Our only delay was waiting three weeks for Doughboy to manufacture the 28x16' oval pool liner: a tricky one requiring a significant 7' deep end. But it was worth the wait. Our dogs and visiting company have enjoyed the pool since Pristing Pool installed it. And we have had absolutely no issues with anything at all. Interestingly, Pristine Pool and Spa do more than just install pools; they also repair them. Early one spring morning in 2022, a large mature Doe and her newborn Fawn decided to go swimming in the pool. The Doe managed to get herself out, but not before poking a few invisible holes somewhere in the liner, causing a slow leak in need of repair. We called Pristine Pool for advice, and Ron advised that his son, Mark, provided leak detection and repair services. How lucky was that? Mark arrived a few days later. It was April, and the pool water bore winter's comforting chill still. Nonetheless, Mark donned a wetsuit and some diving gear, jumped in, and within 15 minutes, managed to find a collection of virtually invisible holes in the floor and sides of the pool liner, which he patched and immediately stopped the pool from losing water further. Cost? Less than a fancy dinner for two up. We were stoked! The company and its owners, Rod and Mark, have proved and continue to remain trustworthy, skilled, and high-quality craftsmen who take pride in their work and that of their employees and care genuinely for their customers. Thank you for your many years of devotion to your craft and dedication to service. We were lucky to find Pristine Pools 34 years ago. And we were so fortunate to find you again in 2018, alive and still kicking business! Friends have asked us for referrals. You and Pristine Pool and Spa in Forestville are the only ones on our list. Best wishes for many years of continued success. E&J

I had been taken to the cleaners from a previous contractor that turned out to be untrustworthy, unreliable and way too expensive, so I was going to heir on the side of caution to avoid repeating that experience. My friend gave me a business card for a company I had never heard of called Wights Construction . The second Dale answered the phone, my hesitations started to dissolve surround my previous experience with contractors. He agreed to meet me at the time that best fit MY schedule and assured me that he would be there to look at it. He carries himself well and was an attentive, good listener to retaining wall issue. We setup a time to meet at this point. Dale pulled up my driveway 10 minutes early on the afternoon of our meeting. I was impressed with his punctuality, demeanor and setup. His truck alone speaks that he is a serious contractor and that he knows his stuff, it was loaded with everything you can think of and it is not some little pickup truck, this thing is a real deal construction truck. When looking at the retaining wall and what the cost would be to repair it, he brought up fixing the root of the issue first (instead of just throwing up another wall) and prevention steps on avoiding the issue anytime in the near future. He said that he takes pride in knowing the job is done right the first time and he didnt want me spending any more money than I absolutely had to. At this point I stopped him and asked when he could start. He gave me a time frame and we signed a contract that was pressureless. Intuition usually tells an accurate story and mine told me that I had found the guy for the job, finally. LOL Dale fixed everything in a timely manner and it was nice to know I could leave him alone on my property and have 100% trust knowing I did not hire a shady character. Cost was more than reasonable for what grief Dale has saved me from and I'm already in the process of having him look into a few other jobs that I have. I would have gladly paid more if he had asked because his skills and knowledge are invaluable to any homeowner. Working with Dale is like working on a project with a good neighbor or best friend. He is very easy going and always delivers on his word. He communicates effectively and hears your concerns. Very rare to find that these days, especially in a contractor. I can check off contractor off my list of people to call when I need them because I'm quite certain that the only contractor I will be calling is Dale from now on. Thanks for everything Dale!
