I was introduced to Dr. Possner by a good friend. There are not enough words to describe how…read morethankful I am for this introduction. From the first meeting I had with Dr. Possner, I knew things would be vastly different and that I had found someone that would have a profound impact on my health. My first appointment was the longest time I had ever spent with a doctor. My appointment was 2 hours and Dr. Possner had fully reviewed my medical records and engaged me in thoughtful conversation about my medical history. I left my initial appointment with a feeling of empowerment over my health that I had never really felt before. Little did I know that the impact of having Dr. Possner as my doctor would happen so quickly. I was on vacation and had an acute UTI. It was after business hours, but I was able to call the office and get the on call doctor that happen to be Dr. Possner. I walked him through my symptoms and he immediately called in a prescription for me. Because he had such knowledge of my history it was easy for us to communicate and talk through my symptoms. He checked on me via email through the client portal several times over the next couple of days to ensure I was ok. The fact that I was in a remote part of a different state and I was able to call and speak with the doctor saved me stress and the hassle of finding an urgent care to go to. He has made several recommendations to other specialists and doctors, all of whom have turned out to be amazing. His referral goes a long way with each specialist I have scheduled an appointment with. I can't recommend Dr. Possner enough; he's a great listener, thoughtful, caring, kind and you can tell he truly loves what he is doing. His follow through is simply amazing.

While Dr. Pistole is very personable, his staff leaves you wishing you were talking to a wooden…read moreboard or the dead. Either option is much more polite and responsive than the people answering the phones in his office. My experience: I had some exams done in the beginning of the year. I called for my results on the day they informed me it would be ready. However, the doctor was out, and so I left a message. The nurse/receptionist asked me to call back the next day. The doctor was again scheduled to be out that day, but would definitely be in the next day. I called on again the following day, but was informed the doctor was only in the office on mornings of that day. No one thought to mention that to me the day before. Eventually, he called me back, and informed me he was going to look into a medicine to prescribe me. I should never had said that was okay, because one week later, I was scheduled to travel abroad. Before ever hearing back with a prescription, I just caved and saw a different doctor because I was becoming very nervous that I would be in discomfort while traveling. I needed something to control my discomfort while I was abroad, and that's what I got from the new doctor. No tests necessary. I called to ask my records to be forwarded to the new doctor. Meanwhile, I received a bill in the mail from Dr. Pistole's. Still no prescription, but a bill to pay. I called the office to explain I would not pay until I heard from the doctor. He called back very shortly after that. He also explained he had attempted to call me and left a message. Perhaps something did happen here in the digital world. But I did receive other voicemails while abroad. His was the only one that never came through. I understand that doctor's are busy. I can handle not being called for a week. But after a week, I might get a little concerned. I also think that if I just wasn't called back once, that perhaps it was a mistake, or an extraordinarily busy time. The count at this point was twice. It's really the third time that has convinced me this is not an accident, and just standard patient treatment. I requested that my records be forwarded to another doctor's office. I have been requesting my records for over a month. I asked multiple times, and even my new doctor's office requested the records. Well, finally, they have been sent over. Hallelujah. I will not have to deal with that office ever again. I do not write reviews on yelp. But I want to warn others because I feel that my problems would have been solved months ago if not for the fact that the staff in Dr. Pistole's have dragged their feet at every step. If you are feeling sick, and don't want to add to your stress levels, please go elsewhere.

No one returns my phone calls or answers email messages via patient portal. I ran out of osteoporosis medicine for over 3 weeks now. A Dr. Patel emailed me saying she was filling in for Wexler and would send a script into CVS Specialty for me. That was over a week ago, and I still have no medicine because CVS Specialty claims Dr. Patel sent them an incomplete script. I sent a message regarding this to Dr. Patel, and all I got was an out of the office response. So, the circus starts all over again. I am disappointed with MedStar to allow such poor care to be acceptable. Their doctors are overworked, and I wonder if Dr. Wexler even has a staff based on the nonresponses I've received for so long. It is unbelievable ill people must go through so much just to get a prescription. If you want a doctor who responds to your needs, look for someone who cares enough to read his e-mails and has a staff who calls back.

If I could give an extra star for going above and beyond what other facilities do, I would. Before establishing care here, I lived by the UCLA Ronald Reagan Center which is one of the top-rated medical centers in the US. Having experienced their level of service which was great and comparing it to here- I would say here is the same level of quality but probably better if I'm being honest. Dr. Gibson's expertise in medicine is exceptional and what's noteworthy is his ability to explain seemingly complex topics in ways that are digestible and absorbed by you and me. I never feel rushed during an appointment and the doctor remembers everything I've told him which shows his attention to detail and his care for each patient. Sometimes I think it's easy to feel like you're just another patient at medical facilities but you won't experience that here. You'll be treated like the awesome human you are and realize this is how healthcare should be. I've never had to wait more than 5 minutes in the waiting room before being called back & she's very thorough in her exam (she doesn't try to rush you in & out like some medical cattle call). I was so pleasantly surprised by the fact that SHE actually returned my phone call, not a nurse or assistant - Dr. DiFresco herself (and she got back to me in 10 minutes!). No other physician has ever called me back themselves, let alone within minutes of calling. She's originally from the same neighborhood in Brooklyn that I'm from, so between her sweet, calming nature & her Brooklyn accent, I felt like I was right back home with my mom taking care of me again.
