It's called bar food for a reason. I really wanted some french onion soup, and what I got hit the spot. My mom, on the other had, ordered the chicken pot pie soup, and it wasn't soup, it wasn't even stew, it was thicker than porridge but thinner than mashed potatoes. We sent it back. She traded it for the chili, which she made a 'eh' face when eating it. This is the woman who loves Wendy's chili, if that gives you any indication that it won't be ordered again. We are regulars at the Davison location and usually the food is very good but VERY DISAPPOINTED ST. Patrick's day the corn beef cabbage was AWFUL very small portions of everything , over cooked dried out corn beef ,cut into what looked like bacon slices no carrots cabbage tasted like not a drop of seasoning and mash potatoes instead of cut potatoes I wish I would of thought to take a picture .Never again, we will return to the local coney for st pattys day read more

What a great lunch today! Antonio was our server and he was exceptional. Great service, wonderful personality and super knowledgeable on the menu! They have a summer menu and I had the Caribbean jerk shrimp, which was absolutely amazing. It had a mango salsa, sliced avocado, and grilled lime and shrimp. . New favorite dish for me! I love Hamlin Pub! I usually eat at the Rochester Hills one, but I was on this side of town with my mom and we were starving, so we stopped in and had a bite to eat. Walking in, there was quite a few people already dining which we loved. We seated ourselves at a table and our server came over with menus. They really only had fish as a special which kind of surprised both of us. I know sometimes they have game day specials, but nothing during the week? Anyway, my mom got the fish and loved it. I went with my usual 3 slider combo with sweet potato fries and a sprite. Everything here was good, but we forgot that they upgrade you for a small fee for the sweet potato fries. booo. Anyway, I really do like coming here since their menu has a great selection of food. Service is decent and the layout's the same as the one I go to over in Rochester Hills. this store is poorly run and the bartenders are rude if you're not a regular. any bar that ALOWS their bartenders to do shots is not a good thing. 2 bartenders on friday afterwork. a male and a female who never seems to be happy. a bar that has 2 ends needs to have one bartender at each end, yet they both hang out with each other at the same end. i had the chicken dumpling soup to-go. not what i had in the past. my guess is that the owners are to busy building the empire with new bars rather than trying to achieve a good experience at the existing stores. one more thing that was sooo weird. my wife and i were sitting the and an acquaintance came in later and sat next to us. the rude female bartender asked if we were all together. i said no, not on the same tab and she told me she was adding him to our tab and would seperate it later. Sports bar with tasty bar food, specials, delicious Detroit style sliders and live music on weekends. People live the pizza specials but I don't like their pizza. It's not square, brick oven, NY thin, just Dominos style that's half price once a week. Fish and chips are delish, tarter seems home made. I even checked with the bartender to make sure it was in there and was assured it was. Unacceptable. The food at the 22 mile location is always good. I've been disappointed every time I've gotten food at the 25 mile location. $70 for two salads, a bowl of soup and an order of French fries. I won't be going back to this location again. read more

I wish I could leave zero stars. Just went to the location on 23 and gratiot and all the open tables had food and dishes still on them. My wife and I stood there about 15 mins with staff walking around not offering help. The bar staff finally asked what we needed and I said we can't sit because it's all dirty at the open tables and she said she'd get someone. By this time we were done. Terrible service, won't be back, this is crazy as we were regulars and it's happen before. I guess they don't want business. read more

The Friday special Perch Dinner was a joke. About 4 little curled up over fried pieces that had barely any hint of fish inside of it along with a heeping pile of French fries & little coleslaw for $13.99. I shoulda just got the regular Fish & Chips off the menu. It's not even the price it's just wasn't worth more than about $5 worth of potatoes. The band didn't show up tonight and by 9:30 the place was practically empty. Only even a handful of people at the bar. Wow. Never seen the place like this on a Friday nite. I don't know how this place pays their rent. Wont go back here, not for a meal anyway. Except pizza if I meet up there w/a friend again. Pretty hard to screw up pizza! First driving up this bar is in a well light area. Walking in it is a darker bar and you are greeted pretty quickly by a bartender if you sit at the bar. I have ate here a few times, they have great pizza and great wings. read more

Seat yourself is not a good program at a place like this. Six or eight large tables with two or three people sitting at each one. Smaller tables are half seated and the other half either dirty or appear as though they could be occupied but no one is sitting there. S.L.O.W.!!!! I know, I know... there is a lack of servers but we were there for over two hours. It was a Monday night and we had called 4-5 other restaurants who were closed and ended up here. We waited over an hour before we even got our food. I'm not sure if it was the server or the kitchen who was slow but that was quite excessive. My husband ordered a beer and it never came. My 5 year old nephew was very hungry and asked the server how long it takes to make a burger, she replied not very long. His food came out first but we still waited an hour for it. Once the food came it was very good. Then there was some mix up with the bill we were dining with our family from out of town and had separate checks. Two bills got ran on one card and then it was a hassle to fix. I do feel bad for the server as she was only one of three girls taking care of the whole restaurant but it wasn't full. read more

We had the BEST experience for our rehearsal dinner event this past Friday! The room set up was perfect, the decor was warm and inviting, working with Morgan was a delight and she helped in every way she could to accommodate us! The food was outstanding! They just added a few new options and they were delicious! (it takes a lot to impress me with food). We had the new Raspberry walnut chicken, roast sirloin, mashed potatoes, cheese tortellini, chicken picante along with salad and rolls! ALL so delicious! When the kids wanted their rehearsal dinner there I thought bar food...NOPE, but there is a chef just for special occasions and he does a fantastic job!! We had open bar also and their pricing is very fair and the drinks were very good! They have a lot of beers to choice from too! 2019-10-26 Hamlin Pub. Shelby Twp, MI. It's nine o'clock on a Saturday, The regular crowd shuffles in, There's an old man sitting next to me, Makin' love to his tonic and gin. OK, yes, those are the lyrics to Billy Joel's Piano Man, but it's the first thing that came to mind when I entered the place. It was actually Saturday afternoon, and we were picking up some lawn fertilizer that only the 26 Mi and M-53 Home Depot location carried. Wife wanted to stop by Vince & Joe's to pick up a few things so we swung by the Vitale Plaza location because it's much bigger than the in Sterling Heights and we were kind of in the area. So glad we did! Vitale Plaza is located at the northeast corner Van Dyke and 25 Mi Rd. With a private parking lot, there's sufficient parking to support the shops and restaurants. Today the Vitale Plaza happened to be hosting their Annual Halloween Party. That's right, the entire plaza threw a party for the public! Best part, this was a community event and it was completely free! (sponsored by the Vitale family - owner's of Vince & Joe's). A family event, kids were dressed up and were able to go trick-or-treating in the shops of the plaza. A list of participating stores were available; Vince & Joe's supermarket was giving out free samples throughout the store, and the Hamlin Pub provided free lunch for everyone (from 12:00 - 15:00)! It was 14:30 when we had arrived so we only caught the end of the party, but another parent did inform us that we should go the Hamlin Pub for kids activities before they end it for the day. Upon entering the Pub, the scene immediately turned from the bright daylight to the orange glow of most pubs. The pub was seasonally decorated in true Halloween spirits with copious amounts of cobwebs throughout. A secluded room was the venue for the kids activities and the free buffet lunch. Bottled and canned drinks, Boneless wings, Fries, Battered Fish, and a cookie decorating station! The food is your typical kids menu food and my kids had zero complaints (they had about 2 chicken nuggets and the same amount of fries, and went straight for decorating cookies). While we didn't really dine here, I wanted give the Hamlin Pub their dues in the participation of the Vitale Plaza Halloween Party. Other than the trick or treating, the cookie decorating was the only other kids event that we came upon (but we also came at the end). They were collecting donations with 100% of the proceeds going directly to helping families in need during the upcoming holiday season. I highly recommend you donate what you can as Michigan winters can be harsh. For me, it was probably the most expensive Nuggets, Fries, and Cookies I've ever purchased, but totally worth the cause. For the Hamlin Pub's participation in the Vitale Plaza Halloween party, I'm giving them 5 stars. In case anyone is wondering, this is a local event, it's only advertisement is through local flyers and not published anywhere. We just so happened to be in the right place at the right time... We pass this pub all the time and decided to stop tonight. It was probably 25% filled, but we still waited way too long, waiting for a waitress to come up and take our drink order. My husband even walked up to the bar due to the long wait and started asking the bartender. What's ontap. Because of that, we decided to place our food order at the same time. It took forever to get our food, and when the waitress came, she apologized, but didn't offer any reasoning. If you wanna come here, plan on spending an hour and a half just due to the long wait time. There was no reason for this considering the bar was not even half full. Stopped in here to meet up with some friends. Drinks and oyster crackers only. The service was friendly. The staff was mindful and attentive. It was a little dark and the crowd died down quick. I came here at lunchtime with a few friends and it wasn't very busy and the waitress was very friendly. She seemed to know some of the other people in my group and even remembered what they like to drink. I got the pub salad with chicken and it was very tasty I got salsa for the dressing and the other people split an extra large pizza because it was half off pizza day so they got a $22 pizza for only $11 and they said it was very good. Since this is a bar it was very noisy in there and I did like the food but I wouldn't go here on a regular basis because it is kind of dark and dingy inside. They had a TV set in every corner of the room and all the different channels were on so I imagine for a sports night it's a great place to hang out. read more

We had planned on attending Octoberfest at Brown Iron but when we got there we found out we needed reservations. We went to three other places and because of the cooler weather, less people are sitting outside. So the wait times were around an hour each place. This was a major bummer. Reluctantly, I agreed on Hamlin. I have had a mixed bag of experiences here. It's also a place we come to frequently and I wasn't in the mood. But agreed because we were starving. We walked in and it was pretty busy. We were directed to sit at a small two person table. The bar was full. We sat down and waited. And we waited. And we waited. Finally I got up and asked if we could get a menu or beer list. The host told us that the server would bring us one. .... Ok. When? We sat there longer. As we were about to leave the waitress approached with menus. So now we need to look at a beer list. They don't have printed beer lists. What? The waitress impatiently handed us a folded list from her book and we looked it over and ordered. I ordered from the list a Oberon. He ordered an Octoberfest beer. After 10 min, the waitress returns to tell us they are out of Octoberfest and no longer carry oberon. So we started over with needing the list. I ordered a Rochester red and he ordered an IPA. ok. Now we need food. The food was fairly generic. Nothing special. He ordered a ruben. I got boneless wings. Nothing special at all. But the service was terrible. The waitress was not really rude. Very disappointing service. Our waitress basically "ghosted" us, leaving us with our bills and no way to cash out. We finally got the attention of someone that seemed responsible. He took our credit cards and that was the last we saw oh him. Well, he was goofing around with staff which made things more frustrating. 40 minutes later, our waitress finally cashed us out. The worst part was when our friend finished her beer to find a piece of chewed gum stuck ti the inside bottom of the glass. What the heck? How did they not notice? First and last time going there.
