Fantastic experience all around with these guys. Can't say enough good things about my experiences with them. Professional. Respectful. Efficient. Just an excellent business providing excellent service. They're so good at what they do that I actually look forward to that time of year when I'm due for a smog. Fortunately we have four cars so I get to visit them at least a couple of times a year. read more

Called the shop on a Saturday to ask about Smog checks for our 2 vehicles and he invited us to come on in. We met Carlos who was friendly and professional - said we've be done in about 35 minutes. We did a short walk about downtown Novato and returned to find both cars were done! E-certificate send off to the DMV and receipts ready - prices were as good or better than other providers (and without having to have a coupon). I appreciated the prompt, friendly service and will definitely recommend Carols and Hamiltons Smog without reservation. read more

Hamilton's Smog - Fresh coffee and cool fan - Smog Check Stations Near Me - Novato, California

Probably the best SMOG experience I've ever had (Even though my car failed the first time). I stopped by the first time and surprisingly they weren't busy. I talked to the owner, Carlos and had a good feeling about it so I asked him to proceed with a SMOG check. I wanted to kinda feel it out because 1, some SMOG technicians are complete pricks (More on ths later). Not so with Carlos. 2, my car had a special consideration and just by having a 5 minute conversation you can tell he knew exactly what he was doing. So after testing the first time it did fail even showing no codes/DTC's :-( However after talking through it he educated me about the quirks of my type of motor. I took his feedback and went through the processes he outlined. I came back a few weeks later and man, was it busy. I asked if I could come back later and he directed me to give him a call an hour before close. I did so, came back, threw it on the computer and it passed! One of the other great points about Hamilton's and Carlos is that the price is pretty fair. It's an honest business and Carlos is a straight shooter. To qualify my earlier statement, I've owned performance cars my whole life. Many techs will automatically fail you on the smallest little thing. In my case I have an EO/CARB approved performance kit on my car with documentation displayed. Carlos popped the hood, I described the kit and he went about doing his business. He was very professional and did his due diligence. Upon failing the first time we had a lengthy conversation as described above. Just due to the time and effort he put into the overall interaction I will definitely bring all my business here. read more

Fast service in and out on a Sunday! Comfortable waiting area with a heater. Thank you!

Professional, friendly, fast and a good price for the smog check. Good energy and better than most I've been to.

The DMV sent me paperwork requiring a smog check before they would issue my tags, so I immediately started calling around to get one done. Since it was a Sunday and I wouldn't have time during the workweek, I was thrilled to find that Hamilton was open. The experience was fantastic, quick, professional. I would definitely recommend them! God price too! read more

Smog services are limited in Novato, so I was happy to find Hamilton Smog. It was a Tuesday morning, and they took me in right away. Victor was courteous, friendly, and efficient. The check was completed in less than half an hour. I was surprised at the price, however, but I guess smogs have gone up since I had to get one last. I highly recommend this business. read more

This place is great. Fast, friendly, and professional. I was in and out in 15 minutes. Carlos uploads docs to DMV. Highly recommend!

Hamilton had fast and affordable smog service. They were able to smog my 2016 and 1986 Toyota trucks.

It took 3 tries to get my Honda Fit to pass the smog test. I'd had to recharge my battery a couple of weeks before and knew I needed to drive the car around a bit before trying to get it smogged. I thought 30 or 40 miles would be enough, but it wasn't. I tried again and it still wasn't enough. For the third try my son offered to take it in and gave it a good run before hand. It passed the test! The point of that story is that Carlos, the owner, wasn't the least bit annoyed that he'd had to run the test 3 times. He remained pleasant and friendly and and didn't charge me anything extra. Good business, excellent service, fast, reasonably priced and a nice guy. read more

The service was fast and friendly- they were able to get me in early morning without a reservation.

This is the second car I've brought in for a smog check. No wait and they converted one of the garage areas to a waiting room with heaters, wifi and charging cords. Always very courteous here! read more

Skilled Service, meets friendly customer service, plus quick completion! Carlos, the owner made it easy to schedule an appointment online, with confirmation. I was surprised how quickly he confirmed STAR Smog Certification, on my 2005, older SUV. There are only a handful of STAR Smog rated shops between Novato and northern Santa Rosa. Happy to recommend, read more

Great service, highly accommodating and pleasant waiting experience. Recommend fully!

Had a great experience. Prompt and professional service. I smogged two cars here and everything went smoothly.

Walked in, didn't need appointment. The service was very profesional and welcoming. I recommend this place for your smokes.

Carlos is a very friendly and professional guy, and he runs a clean and fair shop. No gimmicks or questionable practices. I stopped by to ask if he could smog test my air-cooled 911 and he said he'd need to do some research to make sure he could do it properly. I came back a couple hours later and he did a fantastic job. Carlos explained what's unique about the process for my car and it passed without issue. He was careful with my car and the process took less than 30 minutes. I'll happily come back in the future. Thank you, Carlos! read more

Went for a smog test for my truck and they were quick, friendly and accommodating for a very reasonable price.
