Before moving forward, I decided to get a second opinion from Dr. Chauvin--and I'm extremely glad I did. He spent a lot of time with me, carefully reviewed my case, and clearly explained everything. He pointed out that my skin changes were not typical for CVI and that vein mapping results can vary depending on technique. A repeat vein ultrasound at his office showed only very mild CVI, and he recommended no treatment at this time. I truly appreciated his honesty and patient-first approach. Instead of recommending a procedure, he focused on what was actually necessary. If you're considering vein treatment, I strongly recommend getting a second opinion. She understood that I had limited time to see the doctor and do any needed procedures. I ended up having 6 appointments between Dec 1 and 18th and finished what I needed to do and hit the road that same afternoon. My initial appt. was with Jenn to do the Ultrasound. Jenn was extremely thorough. In fact her finding were different (more problems) than the other vein doctor I had gone too, so I am really glad I called StrideCare. I thought my subsequent appts with Dr Chauvin, Gabriela Moreno and Christine Gilbert were all wonderful. Dr Chauvin and I had a few laughs -imagine that - during the procedure. Christine even noticed and brought up a small heart beat issue I have and explained it well. I spoke with Gabriela today, six weeks after my last shot, about a small tender knot I had concern about. Gabriela took the time to explain it very well to me, and confirmed with the internet research I had done, that it was part of the healing procedure. All the procedure assistants were all personable and helpful. Lastly the front desk lady was always so pleasant, would address me by name before I could even tell her and would confirm appts, so I didn't have to do so myself. The bottled water in the waiting room was nice to have on my long driving trip that afternoon. I could not be more pleased with my appts with them, just wish other medical offices operated the same. Its bad enough to pay the co pay's, but now they want me to pay the hospital too. This should be illegal to double bill. I called BlueCross BlueShield, and confirmed that I am not supposed to pay for any other charge, except for consultation. When I contacted the Hospital, they said it was different than the doctor charges yet it was for the exact thing. Looking for another cardiologist.

I was billed by Dr. Aman's clinic for office visit plus ECG. My surprise was that MHMG also billed my insurance for over $723 for using their "facility" and I have to pay over $340 copay. For what? I just visited Dr. Aman in his clinic but never used any MHMG's facility on that day other than the clinic was inside the MHMG bldg. This kind of hidden charge is akin to highway robbery.

And to be quite honest, I was scared sh*tless! But from the moment I walked into the office of Premier Vein & Vascular Center to the second I walk out I was treated with like family.
