Stopped by the mall this weekend while friends are in town. Did not do much shopping, but stopped in the food court for a Snack. Food court was busy, but was able to find a table. There's a gentleman there to clean off tables to make sure that you eat on a clean table. I've been to the mall a number of times and enjoyed every time I come. read more

I stopped in to waste some time during a 3 day trip to Chattanooga and was pleasantly surprised with this mall. I will hit up random malls while travelling and also the one in my hometown from time to time. This was the first time in years that I felt like I was in a real mall. All the stores open, no dead zones, people everywhere shopping and having a good time. Nice little food court and very family friendly. I walked around for about an hour just soaking it all in. The noise, the smells from the food court and candle/perfume stores, the crowds of people going about their day. The Dave and Busters was ok, I wish there was a REAL arcade there but that would really be my only complaint. I will be stopping in on future trips for sure. read more

Hamilton Place is a spacious mall located in Chattanooga, Tennessee. If you are unfamiliar with the area, it is just a bit north of Georgia and accessible from exit 4 on Interstate 75. This incident didn't occur directly in Hamilton Place Mall area- it happened in the congested area of the several hotels located on McCutcheon Road. On Thursday morning at 4:35 a.m. my car was stolen from the front parking lot of the hotel I was staying at. Before finding out my car had been stolen.. that morning at about 5:30 am, me and my boyfriend walked our two dogs in the back of the building where I discovered a back window that had been busted out of a truck. We immediately reported what we found to the front desk and then we carried on with our morning. Following later that afternoon we both went up to the front desk to extend our stay. I decided to walk outside first to go ahead and start the car etc. while he paid for our room. As I'm walking out towards my car, which is parked almost directly in front of the main entry way.. I came to a halt when I noticed my vehicle was not where I had left it the night before. I immediately started searching the parking lot in hopes that I may have forgotten where I had parked. I ran inside, told my boyfriend that the car was gone. He insisted we check the back lot to make sure we hadn't made a mistake, but unfortunately it was gone. We reported to the front desk that my vehicle was missing from the parking lot and then after communicating what we had previously found that morning, the general manager let us know that there was footage of a man dressed in all black clothing approaching my car and getting inside, rummaging through everything for at least a couple minutes, he then gets out runs back across the parking lot and then decides to come back, jump in and takes off. We reported my car stolen and we didn't expect anything but the worst, considering the recent reports of cars being stolen in surrounding area. We had no luck for about a week, then out of nowhere we got a call letting us know that my car had been recovered and was found abandoned in the Sam's Club parking lot off of Lee Highway in Chattanooga. During the time my car was gone, no one had any positive feedback. I got told several times my car was never going to be seen again and it most likely was in a chop shop somewhere with nothing left of it. I had very valuable items inside, including expensive handbags, clothing, misc personal items, aftermarket audio system, large tool set, and things that were very nostalgic to me and will never be able to be replaced such as letters, cards, jewelry, photos. On top of that, they stole my license plate and swapped it with the temporary plate I had in the back on my car from when it was purchased last July. It was on the back of it when I picked it up. This was something I prepared myself for because at the end of the day, I do take fault at leaving my fob inside my car but then again.. my fob had fallen between the seats several weeks prior and I just hadn't gotten around to finding it, which is a mistake I'll never make again. 5 days after the car was stolen, they found it and it was taken to a tow yard, I was called and told that I could come pick it up. I was not expecting to find anything left and I thought to myself that it would most likely be almost totaled. But fortunately when I arrived, the car looked just like it did when it left here. But, inside was a nightmare. All of the things inside the car had been thrown out, it was trashed, they had even left their underwear, socks and shoes in my trunk. The car still drives, it runs just like it did when I had last drove it. It was saddening to find my purse, all my items as far as the interior were gone. But, the truck had everything left inside such as the subs/ amp, tools, clothes, etc. Come to find out, my car was involved with the other 2 cars that had been stolen in the Chatt/ Hamilton place area and it was actually segmented on the news. Previous to abandoning my car in the parking lot of Sam's Club, my vehicle was involved in a pursuit where the driver evaded and to what I've gotten ditched the vehicle when it was out gas. I picked it up and it had 12 miles. He had left all of his clothes inside so it was evident that he had to ditch the vehicle in the spur of the moment. The individual who was involved in all three robberies was identified with the last name Everett. We are still unsure if he was the man who initially stole my vehicle from our hotel but we are certain of his involvement. I don't want to say too much on this platform, but given news articles and PD reports this is what I've gathered. This has definitely impacted my day to day life now and I will never leave my vehicle unlocked again, no matter how safe I think the area is. You never know what could happen, I am just thankful I got my car back in one piece and I'm able to carry on. It's just an eerie feeling sitting inside my car not knowing what happened during the 5 days they had it in their possession. Stay safe! Lock your vehicle and always be aware of your surroundings. Stopped by this mall to just do some looking around. Seeing if they had anything different than we did here. This mall is two floors. Almost every store was open with a few having their fences down. The mall was packed as we stopped on a Saturday. We came through the Food Court. Pretty nice sized mall, security was here, it was clean and so were the bathrooms. Nice mall! read more

Took my wife over to buy some new clothes, so we stepped into a relatively new store called "Charlotte Russe". Great prices and a couple friendly staff, however I asked the skinny snobby girl a question...this is how it went Me: Excuse me, do you know if these shirts are preshrunk?" Her: "I don't know what that means." Me: "When you buy a shirt, and wash it...it shrinks. Some companies have washed and shrunk the material before you buy it. Do you know if these were?" Her: "I don't know, I don't have to worry about that with MY clothes." Implying that because she is less than a size 2 she is better than us. Well let me tell you something, it's people like you that make shopping at a store unbearable. You think that just because you are a walking skeleton with skin (badly tattoo'd) that you are somehow above others. We used to like shopping there, but I will tell everyone what kind of treatment a paying customer gets. I hate complaining but this is inexcusable! NOT JUST FOR SHOPPING! I did not go to this mall for shopping, I actually ended up here early one rainy Saturday morning. My husband and I decided to take a walk in the area of the mall so when it started raining, we just headed over to the mall to walk because most malls have a walking program. This started years ago and provided a great place for seniors to walk. It was before 8:00 am and the doors were open. The mall was clean, security was present, there were a couple of businesses open, (restaurant and Belk) and it was just a nice experience. I was surprised that we were the only walkers because this is the perfect place to walk during inclement weather, when you need a safe place to walk or when you just like having something interesting to look at while walking. If you live close to the mall and are looking to start a walking program but don't like walking alone, consider Hamilton Place. With all of the preparations going on in the background, you never feel alone. read more

Wow this mall was packed like when I was in high school in the late 80's! It was nice to see. Needed to go to the Simply Mac store. We walked the mall when it was time to pick up my phone. This mall has pretty much every store. Only thing we didn't see in this mall was a pretzel cart. Funny how you crave it when it's not there. We don't even eat carbs that often. Atlantans, think Cumberland Mall. Plus a fabulous kids' playground, which is about the best thing about this mall. Ok, it is conveniently located right off the highway. I remember going to the movies one time when I was there on a business trip and thinking it was a decent theater - I passed it the other week and thought, huh, this is crappier than that old theater in Sandy Springs at the back of that random shopping center before you get to WF going north on Roswell. And ALL of the surrounding restaurants are mediocre chains - think Carabba's, Olive Garden and the like. Fine, there is a PF Chang's but that's about the best there is to select. There's ONE restaurant in the mall (besides the ubiquitous food court of course) and it seems pretty decent but I didn't have a chance or need to try it. All the stores? Chains. And other than Gap, BR, and I think maybe an Ann Taylor they aren't *good* ones. Even the anchor department stores- and I've seen me a good Belk or two - are just meh. It's the only mall around I've been to - oh wait! There is a Barnes & Noble, one of my ultimate happy places. But even that's not enough to make the trek out there. Sigh. read more

I found myself here on a Friday night and cringed when I thought about how crowded it was going to be, less than a month away from Christmas. I could not have been more wrong. What the heck has happened to this mall? Not only was it not crowded, most of the stores aren't even modern, trendy chains. The few shops that I did go into had bare racks; there were no holiday clothes to be found. Anywhere. Not even their flagship stores. What they do have is an overabundance of accessory shops for both body and phone. Sears was a ghost town. Eager eyes in red vests popped out from every aisle pleading with me to offer some distraction from their coworkers. Belk was a haphazard mess. Dillards...well Dillards just smells of nouveau riche cologne and fake spray tan. Penney's just doesn't give a damn anymore, so why try? Of course they were interspersed with the obligatory Vicky's and BBW, which seem to have ALL the customers that weren't actively eating cheap Chinese or old pizza. And upstairs where the Pickadilly used to be is where all the mall workers who got a little too high on their last smoke break go for a time out. It is as dark and bleak as this review. Wow. I felt like I had been transported back in time to the few years before Eastgate closed. Shops no one had heard of with ill fitting clothes, made from the hands of minors abroad, that were sure to shift and tear in the wash. Oh, CBL. What have you done... read more

It's a mall. They have the same stores or at least types of stores that all other malls across America do. I only go here to get my MAC makeup at Belks, the only place you can purchase that brand in Chattanooga. Now they have DosBros there so that's one other thing they have that's good. Having worked retail for a few years probably 25 years ago, I avoid malls as much as possible. I NEVER go to the mall at Christmas. Seriously, never. I think malls have had their day. read more

I guess I've been spoiled. I guess I can even be accused of having gone "urban" by my country relatives. I guess by keeping my waistline around a 34, that I no longer "fit in" in Chattanooga. Yes, folks, I stuck out like a sore thumb in this mall and people had no compunction about letting me know! Racism? No... But being one of the smallest people in this mall reminded me of why we're going to have issues with health care in the future if we keep our nation eating as it is now. To address the business though, the stores are very cookie cutter - nothing exciting in here. These stores are not very luxurious - the most exciting department store is SEARS. Then again, I guess you have to cater to the market - and when a majority of shoppers here head to Wal-Mart for black Friday, you're not going to find a Saks or Neimanns here. Not a place I'd go back to - the movie theater was the most exciting thing there and now that's gone too. UPDATE: Apparently I had forgotten to add this but my father reminded me recently that this is the mall that I first created one of those kiddy "embarassing" moments. You know, where kids blurt something out that just totally embarasses their parents? Apparently, as a 5-year old being used to living in Korea and around military bases, I wasn't used to seeing people of all shapes and sizes. I emphasize sizes because what did little Jakey do? He looked up at his dad, tossed him a quizzical glance, and blurted out in that extremely loud kid voice (when they don't know their inside): "HEY DAD, HOW COME EVERYONE HERE IS SOOOOO FAT???" This mall is very run-of-the-mill as far as malls go, yet it's insanely crowded and the best bet as far as mall shopping in chatta is concerned. I should clarify: the mall isn't necessarily always insanely crowded, but the surrounding area is. The mall is bi-level, has I think four anchor stores, and a decent food court. the barnes and noble has a starbucks, if you need a caffeine fix. read more

It's not hard to find parking and the Red Robin in the mall is a nice touch...However if I have a choice I would go to West Town Mall in Knoxville over this one every time. Growing up in a town with a very small mall, I can appreciate the size of Hamilton Place. It has two stories (which is something, let me tell you), and they have all of the mall staples (Belk, American Eagle, Sephora, J. Crew, Victoria's Secret, etc.), and they have some less frequently spotted stores as well (Pandora, Sleep Number, Teavanna, etc.). The mall is easy to navigate and has a decent number of options in the food court (generally if I see a Chick-Fil-A, that's all I care about). The location of the mall itself is great, because it's like a hub for all sorts of other food and shopping options! It's great to be able to shop the mall, and then right nearby have other places to shop and eat as well. So, as far as I'm concerned, this is a great everyday kind of mall that's perfect for people who aren't interested in more upscale brands like you'd find in ATL. read more

This is the mall where I spent a lot of time during my teen years. With 200+ stores it's easy to get lost here for a few hours or the whole day, you decide. You can find whatever you need here, and it is a well kept mall and definitely bustling and not in any danger of becoming defunct. Large food court as well. read more

This mall has such a variety of stores. You can find almost anything here. I find the little kiosks quite interesting. They sell some of the most unique things. Great place to take your kids. There's a little play area for them to run around and play with other kids. While your kids play, you can sit down and relax, watching them have fun. I like going to the mall to meet people. Hamilton Place Mall is by far the best mall in the region surrounding Chattanooga. It's clean, well lit, enclosed, and looks alive. There are number of good retail options to choose from, some are your generic stores that you see in many other malls and others are fairly high end exclusive in this area. They also have a lot of different dining options from the fast found in the food court to bars and restaurants in and around the mall. Whether you're a Chattanooga resident or passing through, Hamilton Place Mall is definitely worth a stop. read more

Overcrowded, budget and cheap shops but the worse trait is the rules they have in place. I went with some friends, I'm 17 and this mall officer comes up to us and asks where our parents are. He tells us we have to leave since it's past 4pm (it was 4:30 at the time). Pure ridiculousness, overall this is a flashy dump with outdated regulations and a condescending staff. A chicken bone. That's what did it. I don't usually expect a 6 cm chicken bone in the soup, but that's the prize we found today! In case you're wondering, yes, we reported this poultry femur, but no conciliatory offer was made. Don't get me wrong. The atmosphere is soothing and calm, and the food preparation for the rest of the meal proved more than adequate, though the wait was much longer than that to which we are accustomed. I just have trouble ignoring the osseous javelin in my wife's soup that could have skewered her esophagus, especially since I found a smaller bone in my soup. Normally on a vacation I don't like to leave the hotel room. But this was worth it, it's a big spacious mall with free wifi. I loved how the GameStop and hot topic are right next to each other. Workers are nice and kind, didn't try the food court but this mall had something for the whole family which is hard to find. The prices are affordable and I found games I wouldn't have found at the mall GameStop back home which was a plus. read more

This place sucks. After a certain time at the mall you have to be with a person 18 years or older if your "Under aged". I went with my band two times and both times we were told that they rule didn't apply to us, but the first time around people were getting in trouble because we weren't 18. And if you had a group there can only be one 18 year old per five people. The second time around we called three times being told all three that we would be fun and they wanted us to have fun, but again when all of the kids went around we were getting in trouble again for being underaged, BUT this time you had to be 18 to walk alone and if you had a group there had to be a person above 21 in the group. We went two times in a couple of weeks and were told different things. We didn't have fun and it was stressful the whole time and also every store was over priced. 0/10 would NOT recommend read more

Their offerings are a bit better than the mall here in Greenville and dare I say Crabtree Valley Mall in Raleigh. 2 levels, clean, a wide variety of shops and restaurants. We were exhausted that day after driving for over 9 hours from NC and checked it out the afternoon that we arrived into town. I'd been here before but it'd been many years. read more

I would have to completely disagree with the other reviewers. The shopping mall and surrounding areas are extremely convenient for the average shopper. The stores are all in close proximity to one another. If Wal-Mart Black Friday shopping is not good enough for certain people, then I would remind them of our current economical situation. Not all of us are fortunate enough to be able to afford Saks or Neimanns. It is perfect for simple Christmas shopping for others to share the joy of the season. As for the insinuation that the people of this town are lower class and overweight, I would have to remind you all that Hamilton Place is very close to a college. Most shoppers and workers are in their late teens and early twenties. Therefore, they are NOT typically overweight. Because they are in college, they are paying for their educations and cannot afford extravagant overpriced items. Lastly, If my children were to scream out about other people being larger in size than average, I would have reprimanded them and reminded them to have manners. Being rude is not an attractive quality. An accepting attitude is much better than a judging one. read more

Bankrupt shell. Many many vacant stores, absolutely no shoppers, bored employees sitting alone in the smaller stores, and bewildered workers clumped together in the bigger stores wondering if the end has arrived. The mall heyday is over at Hamilton Place. Other malls across the nation are suffering the same fate as shoppers trend toward Amazon and online shopping but it sure is unsettling to see my own nearby mall mired in hopelessness. The mall itself is like a mall and nothing more. Was crowded with Christmas shoppers. The problem with this mall is the congestion in the parking lot. It took us 45 minutes to leave the all and get on a surface street. Traffic engineering leaves a lot to be desired in Chattanooga in general but around this mall it was horrendous. You have to wait for one light to clear traffic and that was two lights ahead of you. So it took three lights to move at all. And there are traffic lights everywhere. On top of that the mall was cheap and did not hire anyone to help move the flow. It was bad when we arrived and just as bad when we left. Chattanooga needs to realize people look at their city in ways they may be use to but have been to malls in Los Angeles and Phoenix and other large cities (larger than Chattanooga) and nothing compares. This should embarrass everyone in the city from the mayor on down. There needs to be some real rethinking of traffic in this city. read more
