When we got in, we were the first customers in and the server came to ask if we wanted drinks right away. However, she became increasingly mia afterwards. After waiting around 30 minutes for eggs and bacon over some burnt cheap coffee, we got out plates which were nothing to write home about. The waitress checked in with us 0x until we were ready for the check and then thanked us for being patient as she was experiencing some anxiety today, though no apologies and nothing offered as compensation for the extreme lack of service. Before meeting my friend to go to Hamilton the play and dropping off my son, we all needed somewhere to eat. I thought It would be cool to go to Hamilton Heights close to my sons drop off, here to Hamilton Hall before we went to see the play Hamilton. My son and I had a burger which tasted standard and my friend felt the same way about her food. Maybe it was what we ordered . The drinks were good and on point. My friend and I had old fashioned and my son had a soda. It seems like a neighborhood bar, and staff seemed friendly. We went on a Sunday before 6PM and there were a few people in it. However, when I pass by it when I drop off my son later in the day it seems more livelier and full. This may be a better time to visit. read more

I have had the same waiter most of the visits but the last time, the person I was with was asking a lot of questions and this made the waiter visibly annoyed. Went to Hamilton Hall several months back pre indoor dining resuming. Had the Argentine Red Shrimp, with bread on the side (goes so well when you dip it in the sauce) and a Miss Hamilton drink. All tasted amazing! Was so very tempted to place a repeat order to go but had to contain myself. Service also was very good. They have a very well insulated outdoor pod that even during the cool months was kept very warm. But of course there is indoor dining now, so my next go will have a meal and some drinks indoors. Going there for drinks is one thing. It's a good looking bar and they have Guinness which is a plus. Their classes are on the smaller size and they charge the same prices as other bars in the neighborhood which is a bummer. You don't have to charge that much and still be profitable. Anyways - the food is lackluster to say the least. I've eaten here a few times and every time I'm left wanting more. Also their "chicken pot pie" is just soup with a biscuit on the side. Being from the south, chicken pot pies are a staple so that was a confusing bummer. I even sent it to my friends from other southern states and Ireland to double check if I was wrong. Let's start with the host. She is amazing. She was quick to answer all questions and sat us outside in this wonderful hut with space temperature maintaining 75 degrees. Fyi the host is also the waitress and remember you are sitting outside in a closed hut so be patient and know what you want when she comes because it's a long walk from outside to the end of the restaurant. Space fits about 4 comfortable 6 tight. COVID protocol was well followed here so feel safe. We cane here for dessert and drinks We ordered the apple pie with ice cream. Within hours of our arrival in NYC (moved from the Adirondacks), we found this place only a block away. Exhausted from tearing apart boxes we decided to give the place a chance. Our inability to uncover proper cooking utensils wasn't the only reason we ate out that night. The place just looked inviting. The service was very fast. Our server, Erin, was super friendly and helpful. My wife and I both were in the mood for the Shepherds Pie. It was delicious. A few nights later we returned and ordered the Chicken Pot Pie. Again, it was awesome. The owner, Mickey, took the time to check on us during dinner. On one level, I would give the Hamilton 5 stars but the menu is limited. Also, there was only one Chardonnay offered. All that aside, we plan on making this our 'local'. We'll be bringing friends and family next time. read more

Came for lunch and this place did not disappoint! It was pretty empty so we were able to choose any table, this place is surprisingly big. In addition to the outdoor seating, the indoor seating seems endless! Like you literally can keep walking further and further back. I think they even have a small backyard? Anyways, on to food. We started with the calamari (simple and crispy), guac (limey and balanced), and the oysters (suuuper fresh). We ate every crumb. For my entree I got the chicken sandwich with fries. Let's just say all you heard from me was the silent sound of someone enjoying their food. The sandwich was juicy, crispy, and perfectly seasoned. Top 5 chicken sandwiches period. It's also huge. I gave 4 stars because the waitress was a bit too sassy for my liking she was super prompt, swift, and quick... but made us feel like we were annoying her with simple requests like a refill or more napkins. "Anything else" with a sigh isn't the best response after each thing we say. And I get it, NYC isn't the place to go for politeness... but customer service is customer service. Even in Harlem. I found this place on the Seated app and decided to check it out. Upon arriving the owner(?), Mickey, asked us if we wanted to be seated by the bar where the game was playing or somewhere quiet. We elected somewhere quiet since we were not into sports. We ordered the Oysters, Shepherds Pie, and Sears Salmon. Mickey recommended the Coops Island and Great Gunn because we advised we like big oyster. Mickey gave us an additional 2 oysters because he said the remaining GG and CI oysters weren't as big (BIG PLUS!~). I would definitely recommend the Alpine Oysters (it's on the happy hour Mon-Fri 4-8). The Coops Island and Great Gunns followed in taste respectively. I don't usually order Shepherds Pie but something about the old fashion all American decor made me want to try it. It was very delicious, best one I've had (though I haven't had many). Only caveat was the portion wasn't super filling but the taste more than makes up for it. The Seared Salmon on the order hand looked hearty and tasted very yummy. We came to Hamilton Hall for dinner on a Saturday night. The menu is very ... milquetoast. Steak dish with potatoes and roast vegetables? Check. Random chicken dish? Check. Any old roast salmon dish? Check. The every-place-has-a-have-a-vegetarian-pasta-dish dish? Check. Some sandwiches, including a burger and a vegetarian option? Check. I ordered the steak. It was cooked properly, but the overall menu composition and flavors were unimaginative (save for the anchovy butter, which was admittedly delicious). The same for the black bean burger and the nachos. The dishes were, unfortunately, commodity dishes that basically any mid-priced New American restaurant would have; in other words, there was nothing to set the food apart from hundreds of other restaurants. Then there was the dessert. The options? Bland: chocolate cake and apple pie. I can't say anything about the apple pie, but the chocolate cake was ... chocolate cake. Absolutely nothing special at all. More galling, it took at least fifteen minutes for a piece of chocolate cake, clearly stored in the fridge, to make its way out to our table. Even our waiter admitted that it shouldn't take that long for a piece of cake to end up at our table. We ultimately had to take it home because we had two tired kids. The cake was, at best, any old piece of chocolate cake and certainly not worth the price of admission or time it took to arrive. The beer list is okay. There are a few good beers, but most, again, are ho hum. read more

They opened two weeks ago and are still working on their menu. Our waitress China was very nice and checked on us. She stated they are working on their menu and also have a backyard. I do want to to try their food. The ice cream and chocolate cake was good. The chocolate cake was very rich but I enjoyed it very much. There was not enough ice cream to cake ratio. I will definitely be back to try more things. The place is very pretty and has amazing lighting. The reason I gave it four instead of five stars is because I did not like my beer. I've been to many Irish style pubs, many have failed, but this is the real deal! Clean, upscale, but not haughty. Real good food, I mean, really good and for sure, they don't charge high end prices. Very reasonable costs for a very well prepared meal. The value ratio is off the charts! I had a brunch special of avocado toast which was absolutely delicious and it came with an included bellini for $12, which is insane for Manhattan. My wife had the grilled cheese and soup special, she thought it was awesome. I found a new favorite spot, can't wait to come back and try some other dishes. I was a bit surprised by all of the great reviews. Maybe I'm just getting old? So the food is good. The shrimp are actually great, really, really great. We also ordered the chopped salad, which was fresh but had a bit too much dressing for my taste and more importantly, NOT chopped!! Not chopped at all. It was a spinach salad, but at least it was fresh. The ambiance is definitely like a sports bar. There are four big TVs and the music was loud. There are high top tables (all seating two) opposite the long bar and just a handful of tables in the back. So if you're a party of three or more your choices are a) eat at the bar b) eat outside (getting too cold for that) or c) eat in what seems like Siberia in the back of the restaurant (no one was seated there when I was there). Our wait person was efficient but not exactly warm or friendly. When we ordered a second round of drinks she walked over, put them on the table and walked away without a word (yes, we said thank you!). She did the same with the check (we said thanks for that too). I don't need to have a long conversation but putting something on the table (twice) without a word seemed a bit hostile. Will I come back? Yes, because that shrimp was so darn good, but I'd sit at the bar with my husband or friends (the bartender seemed friendly). I wouldn't bring my parents or anyone who doesn't appreciate a somewhat raucous atmosphere though.
