Garlic fish and chips (half order) with half order of original fish and chips in the background.

Great fish and chips! All the reviewers were right. I had the garlic fish and chips and my husband had the traditional fish and chips. Both were good. It's a nice beer batter that they coat the fish with. We will be back.

Just don't order the thick cut calamari, it looked more like the size of a pork chop! Fish n chips were good.

While there was a lot of food. The chicken tenders were very overcooked. The oil that they were cooked in tasted old.

We thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience at Bitter Root Brewing. The brewery has a fantastic…read moreatmosphere to it. Quite industrial feeling, and fun. Ryan was our waitress, and she was just such a cool person. We really enjoyed everybody's positive energy and good vibes. Awesome food suggestions. We split a blueberry feta salad, which was delicious. My hamburger was tasty - made with Montana beef, topped with bacon and fried cheese curds. For $2 extra I got the garlic parmesan fries. Yum... My husband ordered the fish n chips, served crispy and hot, Sawtooth Ale battered cod. We washed everything down with a couple beers - namely their super popular Dirt Church hazy IPA and Huckleberry Honey Ale. On our way out, we bought a couple 6-packs for later; the brown haired lady that helped us at the bar was super cool and gave us a couple stickers. Overall, a great experience. Next time we pass through Hamilton, I hope to come back :)

Sometimes these types of beers can be pretty sugary and be a bit much. But that wasn't a problem with Huckleberry Honey Ale. Yes, it was sweet. No doubt about it but it wasn't it's dominant feature which was great and made this fruit beer a fun one to drink. Flavors to play around on your tongue with this beverage are sweet, fruity, honey and subtle. The subtle is probably the mechanism at play where nothing comes off too heavy handed , making the flavor profile well balanced. The beer is light bodied which is great as the summer time temps crank up the thermometer the light bodied beers are most appreciated.
