I've driven past this every day and finally got in to try it. This was a drive thru experience. I wasn't familiar with this restaurant and I liked the options available in their menu. I ended up choosing the #1 combo of two cheese burgers, fries and a drink. I requested Coke for my drink and asked for ketchup and mustard packets. I will admit, it did take about 20 minutes from the time I ordered until i got to the window to pay and receive my food. I think they just had some rather large orders that were ahead of mine, based on observation. The person at the window was very pleasant though. I did think it was cool that where the pick up window is located is under a vestibule-like pass through for the vehicles so that inclement weather doesn't have as much of an impact on the experience. Everything was hot and fresh. I liked the burgers and fries. Their coke mix is tasty, not overly sweet. I believe I would go back. read more

I have always been a fan of Hamburger Stand. Their simple and cheap burgers are fantastic. I love the fries as well. It is sort of a tradition that we pick up Hamburger Stand when going to watch the races. This visit was one of those, and we were not disappointed. I went here too many times when I moved into the area. I should have thought of the "fool me twice" rule. I had a problem each of the four times: First time, they didn't give me one of the items I ordered. Second time, they were just plain rude, AND they didn't include the condiments I asked for. the day crew is amazing. the older Mexican gentleman is a pleasure, however the night crew is rude neglectful and took forever. the sassy little boy and orange yellow haired lady seemed annoyed and snarky the entire time. The boy would not honor the coupons even though it clearly had a valid date and description of what we ordered. At the end of the transaction we were asked if we wanted ketchup or mustard to which we responded yes please and the window was slammed shut and then us being completely ignored. The receipt said that, the person taking my order confirmed I wanted it plain, when I pulled up to the drive-thru window the woman confirmed "plain double cheeseburger?" Used a coupon to order a meal. THEY forgot part of my meal. I told them hey, YOU forgot 2 of my corndogs. They wanted to turn around and charge me FULL price for what THEY forgot. Because they wouldn't own up to their mistake, I asked for corporate because I don't want to pay full price for their mistake. He wouldn't give me their number. I was informed that they were having a special to celebrate their 37 years in service and I decided to check them out. The line was long but moved relatively quick since they only had one girl working the register and the rest were in back cooking. Hamburgers, hot dogs, corn dogs, chili dogs, cheese fries, cones, ice cream, you name it! First it has a great location, right off 72nd. Second it has drive-thru. You may have to repeat yourself a few times. Maybe ask for them to repeat the order. Third the cost is so cheap! I vaguely remember when the Hamburger Stand had .50 hamburger's. They even give you a survey to do from the receipt where you can get a BOGO item. Lastly, the ladies at the drive-thru have so far been very friendly and professional, plus my orders have been accurate too! The only reason for my lack of a star is the parking is dark at night and the parking lot needs repaving (including the drive-thru). Lots of pot holes and bumps. Hate that with my car. I was there today and their food was burnt and the girl on drive thru seem like she couldn't understand the order. Then once we pulled up to the window, she was just simply rude. I mean really if you dont like your job, find something else that you do like. Don't take out your unhappiness on customers. I'm not kidding. 5 stars for OHS. In searching for a non-breakfast breakfast, I made a spur if the moment decision to get fast food drive-thru burgers for breakfast. Was actually heading out for a small pho, but then I remembered the tip I needed to calculate into the total. Just then I saw the OHS and the fact that they were open. I prayed they were serving the full menu. Score!! - Hot, fresh fries. No leftover rock hard crispy bits. Generous enough portion for lots of bottom of the bag extras. - Burger with a good meat/bun ratio. Patty was flavorfulu on its own. Diced onions and pickles added some flair. The bun was good enough for me to actually take note. - Onion rings. These were quite the surprise. They were hot, tasty, non-greasy. Real rings of onion. Not the BK kind of fried minced onion shaped into an "O". However, unlike Sonic these had some sort breading instead of a batter. Yes, this is corporate frozen distributed fast food. Regardless, it was well executed and deserving of praise. The burger was better than a $1.19 burger has a right to be. Much better than those at the powerhouse chains. Service was straight forward and friendly. Extra points for asking about ketchup and mustard! I always forget and then get pissed. And this OHS didn't skimp on the condiments. El Cheapo and his henchmen would be thrilled!! This meal took me back to a time when a fast food meal was a top notch treat. Scared to go back and ruin the magic. First off, I got charged 43.62 for my 11.67 order. When I brought this up the employee at the window told me "you should have told me the car in front of you drove off" to which I responded "why, I saw you guys interact". Her response was "well they had multiple orders so you should have told me". It is not my responsibility as a customer to know that, nor is it my responsibility to tell you they drove off. Second, when the manager came over to correct the overcharge, she rudely handed me $30.00 even and when I brought up that wasn't enough, she rudely said the rest was for my order and walked away. So now my $11.67 order just magically went up to $13.62. I received my food and drove off only to find the burger I ordered with no cheese had cheese! So I went to go inside because there were a few cars in the drive thru and I didn't want to wait, but BIG surprise lobby is closed. So I had to wait in the drive thru line again, and since the whole experience was terrible I chose to request a refund as opposed to remaking my sandwich. To which the same manager from early walked over to the window, tried to hand me $11.67 (the correct amount, not the amount they charged) so I told the manager she still owed me $1.95 because she overcharged me in the first place, she rudely opened the cash drawer and went to hand me the money so hard that she threw all the change at me and just dropped the cash in my window and again walked away. This experience was highly unacceptable, I used to be a GM for McDonalds for years, the employee telling me it's my responsibility to tell her what's going on in her drive thru is definitely a training opportunity that needs to be addressed. However this manager that I encountered would have been terminated on the spot for the way she acted. I will not be visiting Hamburger Stand anymore going forward. I just hope someone from the company sees this, watches the cameras, and terminates this manager and spends some time training the next one on the basics of customer service. read more

I drove through, based on earlier reviews, and having reached my limit for sticky tables this week. This poor place, sadly, is of a dying breed. In this case, it seems to be an amalgamation of a Tastee Freeze, an A&W root beer stand, derWeinerschnitzel, an ancient-style southern sloppy-joe (they call it chili) stand, and an old style hamburger stand. Part of this seemed a feeble effort to keep an assortment of brand names alive, and, to a lesser extent, viable. Sort of a "tribute joint". There was a horde of Mexican kids massing like weeds at the back of the parking lot playing vigorous ball in the dark - mind your windshield. I lolled in reminiscence as I enjoyed a root beer float I'd been craving. We ordered a chili dog, a chili burger, and chili fries. It was all sloppy-joe. Next time I'll go for the pastrami dog. It will be sad world when these places are gone, and they're mostly gone already, like drive-in movie theaters. read more

I was never interested in this place until one day, by chance, I noticed a little part of their sign that said "derWeinerschnitzel". I had been craving derWeinerschnitzel for months at this point, so it was to be expected that I would walk on in and get myself some chili dogs. Apparently, fortune was smiling down on me, as they had a special of 6 chili dogs for, like, $2 or something ridiculous. I think you see where I'm going with this. So, I learned that I can eat 6 chili dogs in one sitting if I don't get any fries. And ignoring the fries is not hard to do- their fries come nowhere near the list of best fries in the world. And if you can't deal with sticky tables, I recommend hitting the drive-thru. read more

Usually Hamburger Stand has air filled and lingering with a fuzz of grease haze, but THIS LOCATION IS BEAUTIFULLY CLEAN AND REFRESHING! I've been here several times and always have a good experience. The staff are friendly and helpful, the food is great for the price. This isn't the best burger/hotdog place in Denver but it's the best cheap place for both. The only reason I didn't rate it 5 stars is because the way the food is packaged is kind of messy. ROACHES!!!!! My husband and I absolutely love Hamburger Stand chili cheese dogs.....but do not have a hamburger stand near us. Naturally, when we were venturing out and found ourselves near the Westminster Hamburger Stand at 3030 W 72nd Ave, we stopped in. As we were eating a nasty cockroach walked across our table. When I visited the environmental health inspection website to report this, I noticed that they also had this violation in Oct and Dec of 2018. This is so disgusting.........I will always make sure to check health inspection reports before eating out anymore. read more

First: The food has remained the "same" as in the past, but the other day was my last visit. The recent increase in pricing will put me at another business in the future. The employees at this location like to park in the handicap parking spot, even though they do not have a plate or placard which would allow them to do so. They are simply too lazy to park in a regular spot, because the handicap spot is located by the back door. So, if you require an accessible parking spot, do not go here because one of their employees will be parked in the handicap spot, even though it is against the law to do so. read more

Waited in the drive through for over 15 minutes with three cars ahead of me and the lobby was empty. The drive always takes long here...it's certainly not fast food! Just wanted lunch and I need to get past lying to myself to not have time to make a sack lunch. Visits like yesterday are the ones I dread and have read about on other reviews, different places and you always think it''l never be you. A good yelper reviews them all from the snobby cuisine to the workaday type of places this fast food place represents. The weinershnitzel aspect always draws me because of the estupendoso Reuben sandwiches other places, other times. But this time, drove through, hastily placed the order for jalapeno poppers, a chili cheeseburger and a coke. I am one of those that wish I had 5 minutes to really look at menus (sorry general public) and darned if I did not miss that cream soda shake after ordering but oh well such is life. Went there last night and now feel like I'm going to have an alien come out of my stomach...I knew I was done for after eating a burger deluxe and onion rings...immediate cramping, sweating and dizziness which is now going 24 hrs strong ..food poisoning is always the true sign of employee negligence...
