If you are looking for the quintessential American diner and coffee shop experience, Hamburger Inn nails it! Originally opened in 1938, the popular restaurant moved across the street in 1956 to a building decked out in fantastic mid-century modern architecture, decor and styling. Their reputation for great classic burgers and amazing fresh-baked pies is well-known, and the food quality during my visit did not disappoint. But the real story here is the owner, Elyssa. Youthful, bright and bubbly, she quickly greets you with a smile and truly authentic warmth. You can IMMEDIATELY tell Elyssa loves her place and also the people who come in to grab a bite and maybe shoot a little breeze. And these folks are bringing in their kids; introducing them to the fun of sitting at a counter, tackling a burger and tots -- and adding them to another generation of the Hamburger Inn fan base. I highly recommend you stop by, belly up, and enjoy a great time. And while you're awaiting your order, ask Elyssa about a certain photo proudly displayed for all to see. The twinkle in her eyes will make your day.

    Hamburger Inn...love the vintage sign.

The onion burgers here are amazing! You can't get this in the OKC area. This place has been in Ardmore since 1938 and it is the original onion burger joint. It started in El Reno before Robert's and Johnnie's, but moved to Ardmore in 1938. The onion burgers are so flavorful and not greasy. The Original is my favorite. The hand cut fries are crispy on the outside and fluffy inside. The onions are sliced so thin and grilled into the meat. When you walk inside this place, you are transported back in time. It's a small place with 2 tables and about 12 stools around the counter. The staff are very friendly! Of course I'll be back!

Classic old school burger joint with the best onion rings I've ever had. Right off Main Street. Established in 1938

This place is a great little Mom-and-Pop serving breakfast and lunch. It's tiny..... maybe seating for 25 people total between the counter and the four small tables. But man, do they have great burger!!!! A good down home feel with friendly service! We'll definitely be back when we're in town.... :-)

First of, folks who work there are super friendly. They treat you like you're a regular even if they've only met you for the first time. The quality of the ingredients and dishes is great. It can get pretty crowded though since it's a small hole in a wall establishment . I love the character of the restaurant though. It might be a great idea if they can add an outdoor dining area.

Cozy booth with a view of downtown Ardmore!

This is an Ardmore classic! Delicious onion burgers, golden tater tots, fresh cut fries and lots more. They are incredibly friendly, serve food quickly, and ask you if you'd like to-go drinks when you leave. We need to save room for pie next time because they all looked so good! The interior is small, but loaded with nostalgia and charm. We love to stop here on road trips!

Southwest breakfast platters and a kids egg pancake and Turkey bacon combo. It was a great, filling serving and so glad we chose here for breakfast. THE TURKEY BACON WAS SUCH A NICE SURPRISE! It was absolutely delicious and I will love to try it for lunch next time we are in the area. Loved chatting with the staff and the atmosphere was very nostalgic. We were brought in my the retro street sign. Very impressed all around. Definitely stop here!

Worth the wait for a burger that feels like your stepping back in time. Friendly staff and good food. Small venue so plan on waiting did a seat or rubbing shoulders with a friendly local.

The stuff road trip dreams are made of... the kind of place where you're lucky to snag a coveted spot at the counter where the worn Formica patches show just how beloved it's been over the years. At the Hamburger Inn, the friendly waitress knows the regulars by name - not to mention their regular order as well. But she's just as genial to the first timers fresh off the road. Burgers are big and come served on toasted buns, with a variety of topping combos to choose from. The onion rings and tater tots are crisped to perfection. "Miss Brenda's been banking our pies for 14 years" our server informed us as we perused the options. "We start each day with 4, but they never last long." We opted for chocolate, with 4 forks. ("I had to give you the biggest slice since you're sharing," she said with a grin.). It was heavenly. Crust and chocolate filling still slightly warm, and topped with fluffy merengue perfection. The small town charm can't be beat either - from the saddles lined up next door to the quant holiday decor adorning the street. A stellar road trip pit stop!

Look in the case for the homemade pies!

I second the generational recommendation of this place. One of the best examples of the great Oklahoma onion burger.

After looking over the menu we decided to give it a try. It's a neat place with a cool vibe and great music in the background. It's more or less biker themed, but we saw more families than bikers during our lunch visit. We opted for a couple of burgers and fries. Both were excellent! The fries especially... We forgot to try their fried peaches, which we were drawn to on the menu when we were looking up Bully's, but I guess that means we need to stop back sometime. Service was very friendly and they took good care of us. If you are looking for a little something different, give them a try.

It has a nice lot with a covered patio (dog authorized area) and what looks like some outdoor are for maybe music or events. It has a motorcycle type motif and sign tht sys bikers are welcome. We sat on the patio and were met by the hostess. She gave us our menus and said our server, Kylie, would be right out. She took our drink orders(in Togo cups) and then our food. We both ordered the metric burger with fries. 1/2 burger with the works. My wife skipped the onion. They both came with fries and were out in less than 10 minutes. Everything was cooked and seasoned well. Only downfall is we were outside and the flies are crazy. My only complaint would be once she served us she never came back to check. The hostess did once but the was to clear our stuff. I had to go inside to get my tab and pay. Prices were good.
