Me & my husband got the Texas toaster melts & side order of chili cheese fries. The toaster melt was AMAZING, so much flavor with the mushrooms & grilled onions and most patty with perfectly toasted bread!!! The chili cheese fries are hands down the best I've had from anywhere! They are skillful in their use of mayonnaise on various burgers. The fries were pretty not bad. Be warned that some of their soda fountain drinks mix, so we had a "Diet Coke" that was also equal parts Dr Pepper and Root Beer. That said, the Powerade was pure though. read more

Food was very good. Think I'd learn by now just to get a single patty burger, but oh no, I had to get the double meat classic. Was all I could do to eat the top bun and the two patties. All in all a really good burger. I'll gladly go again maybe this time I'll remember that the double meat is too much for me. Was going to give 4 stars but after reading reviews and the grief some customers went through to get substitutions on their order. Not sure why this has to be an issue. I gave this 3 stars because it is really hit or miss. Some days it's amazing and the best burger around and then the next day it taste like they dumped a whole container of salt on the meat. I don't even mind salty food and I couldn't eat more than 3 bites. And I really just get irritated when I buy food that I don't even eat and I'm still hungry and have to get more food, but I keep going back because of the hope it'll be a good day. We waited 35 minutes for onion rings that were like chewing on a tire the hamburgers were so soggy the veggies which were on bottom fell right threw the bun we literally could not eat it cause it all fell apart. I went here with my family about 2 months ago and went back again today. Prior visit went terrible. Server would not speak to or acknowledge my wife. My wife was very polite and was asking for something as the server just walked off. This was the last straw. I complained...loudly. The manager came over and said she would talk to the girl. That was it. Several of the other patrons came over to our table to say they agreed with us and what was happening was unexcusable. Okay, this visit. Trouble right at the start just trying to order. I was ordering a kids meal. I said upgrade the regular fry to curly. Cashier said no substitutions. I understand this and how curly fries may cost Burger Depot more. So, I said no problem I will pay the difference in the two fries (30 cents). Nope. They wont do it. Instead they offered to make me pay full price to replace the regular fries. So, now I would just be out the regular fries and paying essentially for a separate order of fries. I would have laughed if it wasn't so ridiculously sad. I relented and just took the regular fries. I ordered a burger combo with curly fries. My wife and other kid got chicken meals. After paying I see they up-charged me 80cents for curly fries on my burger combo meal (not the kids meal). I went to the cashier. I tried to explain to them. Me: So fries are 1.89cents? Cashier: YES. Me: My combo comes with fries? Cashier: YES Me: An order of Curly fries is 2.19cents? Cashier: YES Me: So, Curly fries are 30cents more than regular fries? Cashier: YES Me: So why I am being up-charged 80 cents? Cashier: that is our policy. Me: So if I only order fries I pay 30cents more. If I order combo's (paying you a lot more money) I have to pay 80 cents? Cashier: Blank look....... When I saw the portion of my $3.00 fries I laughed. The burger was okay. Definitely better than Sonic. However, at the premium prices this place charges for its food, much more is expected. My kids chicken wrap was $6. They said it doesn't come with a drink or fries. I found this extraordinarily high. When adding a drink and fries its over $10. It is more than their burger combo meals. To top it off all our fries were stone cold. Not even warm. The drinks....Ice machine was empty. They have 2 tea serving units. My wife asked me to get her unsweet. I am looking at these dispensers. One clearly said Sweet. The other one had sweet written in the middle of the unit, but Unsweet on the handle you pull to fill it? So, I asked. Me: Which is Unsweet? Server: Neither. Me: So you don't have Unsweet tea? Server: Nope Based on service alone I wouldn't return. If i could rate this negative stars i would, here's my story At the Lumberton Location, i visited February 22nd 2016. My father ordered the fish meal and it comes with a side salad. He is allergic to lettuce so we asked if he can substitute fries ($1.89) , tots ($2.09), Okra ($2.29), mixed veggies ($2.39) or the onion rings ($2.59) instead of the side salad which is more expensive ($2.69) than either of the other items we asked to substitute for. The manager said she cant but can give him an extra piece of toast. I pointed out that she can only substitute a $0.10 piece of toast for a $2.69 side salad and she clarified it was actually a $0.60 piece of toast. I did not appreciate not only what happened but how the manager handled the situation. It was very unbecoming of a manager and representation of your establishment. Not only can you get a hot, fresh, juicy burger, made almost any way you want it, they also have fish burgers/wraps, chicken wraps/sandwiches and steak finger baskets, fried pickles, fantastic onion rings and of course, fries. After waiting a long period of time, my husband had to go check on our meal and it was just sitting there waiting to be bagged up. Worst customer service experience I've ever had in a restaurant. For months now, I've been getting an empty cup from the cashier and filling it up with water from the bathroom, since they do NOT have a water tap available with their soft drink dispenser. I was told today that that was against policy and they could sell me an empty styrofoam cup for $.99 in order to go fill it myself in their bathroom. In my entire life, I've only had a couple of restaurants charge me $.25 or so for a cup of water. I'm not paying $.99 for an EMPTY cup that I have to go to the bathroom to fill up. For the first time in a restaurant I ate without a drink. That experience will not be duplicated. I won't be back. I'll go to Novrozsky's the next time I want a burger in Lumberton. read more
