We just stopped at Hamburger Barn to eat. I had the worst cheeseburger ever. I would not recommend this restaurant. We were passing Arkadelphia and saw the sign and was excited to stop there to eat. I was disappointed. The server took forever to come to our table. No one bothered to ask if we enjoyed the food. I observed the cooks touching the food without gloves. As a local I love to try all the restaurants in Arkadelphia however, this one did not impress me. The food is decent and the menu is rather large. I have a huge issue with the service. For instance, One time me and my friend were hungry at about 8:30 p.m. and decided to eat there because, the website says it closes at ten. When we walked in the door all the waiters were standing at the entrance with a snobby look and asked us if we knew what we wanted to order before we even got seated. We replied and told them we hadn't even seen a menu that's when they all looked at each other in a rude manner and told us they were about to close. When we replied that the website says 10:00p.m. They said it hadn't been updated and that we only could order a carry out order. I rate this a two because me and my friend never got seated and got treated horribly. Don't come here unless you want poor service. read more

I really heard good things about this place and decided to try it for myself. We had the fried mushrooms for a appetizer, and they were all batter.....a lot of batter and oil. I had the mushroom swiss burger with fries, which for some strange reason tasted like charcoal lighter fluid, and was just gross. the wife had the chicken fried steak with baked potato which was just edible if your really hungry. read more

Horrible. Avoid at all costs. Waiters don't wait, food was bad, their wasn't a plain hamburger their, wasn't even a burger place. They should call it the wait and bait barn. Avoid this place like the plague and just go down the street to Andy's. They have real food with good service, restaurant is quiet, have Tv's in the restaurant, and has a nice view of the street. My girlfriend and her daughter go in to try the place. Get a plate full of basically raw chicken, and refuse to eat it. Decides not to eat any of the other food that was brought with the chicken either to not take a chance of any of it being contaminated because of the un-cooked chicken, along with lack of appetite at this point. They still charged her for the meal, only deducted the chicken. That's not how you do business. Neither she nor I will be back to this establishment. read more

Horrible service and lack of consideration among the waitresses. My son has a wheat allergy so I ordered his food without any bread. They brought us a cheeseburger with a bun. Had them take it back and remake it. The waitress brought it back with pieces of the bun still on the burger. Sent it back again and never received anything else. Asked to speak to a manager and was told that the manager was off and no one was in charge. We will never go back despite the fact that we have been multiple times and never had an issue. Been here a couple of times not too bad food is generally pretty good nice staff, only thing I wouldn't order is the ribeye, it's not that bat but for the price you don't want a steak that you'll want steak sauce for. If you are a stranger to the Hamburger Barn, the name may deceive you. It is so much more than burgers. The extensive menu features the Bubba Burger and other extraordinary sandwiches, steaks, chicken, fajitas and my favorite for lunch is their fried catfish. No disappointments when it comes to customer service as they have some of the friendliest wait staff around. The Hamburger Barn is not a chain restaurant, no ordering at a counter but a full service privately owned restaurant with generous portions. Make sure you try their authentic home-made onion rings with whatever else you decide to order. To go along with your meal, order up a glass of ice cold keg root beer. read more

Beware! The waitresses add 15% tip to any tickets they want in parties of 6 or more. It is not posted anywhere nor do they bother to tell you. The waitresses are nice but drinks get left unfilled and we were not even offered to go boxes. The waitress added herself a nice $10 tip to our check. I asked and was told waitresses are allowed to add it anytime they want. We were regulars going rather frequently but we will not be back. Since they refuse to make their customers aware, I m going to try and spread the word. read more

We visited Hamburger Barn not too long ago and it was completely awful. The outside and inside are completely run-down and are not cleaned or taken care of. The food was terrible and you could tell that most everything was frozen and not fresh. The waitresses (all college students) all hung out at the register talking to each other and we had to get their attention if we needed something. We spent about $40 for my husband and our two kids for sub-par food. It was a total waste of our money and our time. For that kind of money we could have gone down the road about 30 miles to Hot Springs and had much better food and service in a cleaner atmosphere. It's such a shame because Hamburger Barn, in the past, was the place to eat in Arkadelphia...now it's just an expensive disappointment. I would not recommend eating there despite all the "good reviews" that are shown here. I created a Yelp account just to give this restaurant a review...it was that bad. read more

Don't waste your money or time. Absolutely a disappointment. Ordered my Nachos without tomatoes and was not told that tomatoes come in the cheese sauce they put on them. Ordered a burger instead. It was hastily put together and before I even had a chance to take a bite of it, I'm asked if I want a To-Go box. Took a bite of the burger and it was bland so I put it in the box to fix up at home, but was sitting there eating my fries for maybe ten minutes while the check was being run by our server. Almost as soon as the card was returned, the manager or owner I'm not sure who he was, comes sweeping over and tries to take my plate with my fries I was still currently eating. Only in big cities have I EVER been treated so rudely. Save your money folks and try somewhere else to eat. read more
