Great server. Food, well mediocre at best. Not the same as when we were here a couple of years ago. Chicken fried steak was the super chopped and reformed. White gravy was good. The mashed potatoes were cold. Patty melt was NOT hot enough to melt the cheese. Fries were half warm. We like the decor but the food has gone done hill. read more

I am a big burger enthusiast, grow my own beef, try new burgers every week, make my own burgers at least once a week, and this double bacon burger was in the top 3 burgers I've ever had, with strong competition for THE BEST I've ever had. Best food...anywhere! Chicken fried chicken smothered in white gravy with fried okra and sweet tea, Fried catfish with pinto beans, coleslaw and a bowl of the most delicious turnip greens my wife and I have EVER tasted...pure southern comfort on a plate! Great service, clean and friendly atmosphere...the place was filled with church folk eating Sunday lunch right after church. Portions were so big that we took over half of our meals home for another meal or two. Advertised as a truck stop but really felt like Sunday lunch at mama's. Great menu with tons of options...this is now our favorite place to eat. read more

Just ok ,, smells like oil from the fryer,, staff is ok , but they don't know any better.. it's ok

On our way home from Hot Springs today, we landed at this questionable little truck stop restaurant. My husband and I wanted to immediately turn around and find a different place, but my sister-in-law was hangry so we put on our masks and headed for the door. As we entered the restaurant, we realized we were the only people wearing masks at all. Granted, we were in a tiny Podunk town but still. Immediately we were greeted by a frazzled looking woman who yelled at us that she was very busy and we needed to find ourselves a seat and she would get to us whenever she could. We awkwardly made our way around the restaurant looking for a table that wasn't covered with a "do not sit here" paper. (At least they were making an attempt at social distancing, so that's something.) She snapped at another patron that she took her mask off because she was hot. A family walked in the front and was greeted in the same fashion as we were and you could tell they were uncomfortable. I'm not sure exactly why but they finally grumbled a few words and then got up to leave. The waitress noticed them heading for the door and called out across the restaurant, "Where are you guys going??" This poor mother, trying to save face, said something about realizing they had some things to do before eating. The waitress loudly told them, "I heard what you said but whatever. HAVE A BLESSED DAY!!" This mother retorted something back and I was genuinely afraid there was going to be a throw down in the middle of the restaurant. The family ran out the door as fast as they could and the waitress started badmouthing them to the table she was helping at the time. She turns to us and briskly asked what we wanted to drink and then as my sister-in-law came out of the bathroom and across the way, she yelled out to her, what do you want?? My sister-in-law was like, "um...sweet tea?" The waitress ran off to get our orders and I realized that as much as I wanted to leave, now that we had a drink order in we were stuck. I didn't have the guts to get up and walk out anyway. We sat there feeling a little scared at this point, as we continue to hear the waitress yell and carry on. Fox news was playing pretty loudly against the wall so I already wasn't in the best mood realizing I had to listen to the whole confirmation hearing go on as I ate. I have a specific health condition that makes it to where fried foods makes me pretty sick, and I was a little nervous since nothing really seemed to be very sanitary, so I decided a small house salad would be the safest bet. My sister-in-law ordered chicken fried steak and my husband ordered what he thought was going to be an open-faced roast beef sandwich. I got my salad ages before they got their food even though it was my meal, but I went ahead and started eating. I had asked for a vinaigrette and was brought ranch, so my husband had the bravery to ask for that to be corrected. I was brought a vial of oil and vinegar. Both of these bottles were covered in a slightly sticky sort of film so I used the napkin to hold them as I mixed a bit into my salad. It was shredded iceberg lettuce covered in a few bits of tomato and a giant pile of pre-bagged shredded cheese. I pushed the cheese over and my lunch consisted of slightly oiled and vinegared shredded iceberg lettuce with a few tiny bits of tomato. Oh wait, I also got some crackers. That was the best part. By the time I finished my salad, the other meals arrived. My sister-in-law said it wasn't fantastic chicken fried steak but it was certainly edible. My husband was confused. What he was expecting to be an open face roast beef sandwich instead was a bunch of pot roast on top of a piece of toast swimming in gravy. SeeHowever, I tried it and I have to say it was pretty good, especially dipped in the mashed potatoes. Both my husband and sister-in-law ordered corn but they were out so green beans is what they got. Southern green beans should be swimming in bacon grease, with lots of seasoning. These green beans were obviously poured directly out of a can and that was it. My sister-in-law's food came with two rolls, which tasted okay but they looked like someone had dropped a brick on them. The whole time we were eating, we were still hearing the waitress speak poorly of that family to several other patrons and continue to yell across the restaurant at other workers. We could not finish our food and get out of there fast enough! I gave them two stars instead of one simply because the prices were pretty low, the chicken fried steak and the pot roast and the mashed potatoes were all pretty tasty and the waitress was not specifically rude to us after that first greeting. I'm sure it was busier than she was used to on a Monday and she's probably a perfectly nice lady, but our overall impression was that she was completely unprofessional, the restaurant itself was totally devoid of safety precautions, and over half of the food was extremely cheaply made and disappointing. read more

This was my first time stopping by this truck stop. I'm a truck driver and I try to stay away from big truck stops. I'm sick of the same old food. This place is great! This place needs to fire the cook and hire someone who knows what they're doing. The biscuits were a little hard to cut into. Almost had to use a knife. Had to have the waitress take the potatoes back and put into the friar a few minutes. I mean come on man. The scrambled eggs were decent. The coffee was just ok. What is so hard for all these restaurants down in the south to not understand gravy should have pieces of sausage in it. Is that really to hard to understand? Also it tasted just meh. read more

Stopped by there on a Sunday and had the chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes and gravy and turnip greens. It was delicious! Service was good and quick. Excellent place to eat. read more

Tons of parking for truck drivers but its a dirt/gravel lot so watch for potholes. Plenty of them to be found. Shower was clean and decent. Towels were provided at the register. Awesome water pressure. Tiny though compared to that of a Pilot or Flying J. $10 Nice large game room in the back with pool tables. Restaurant was reasonably priced. We ordered 2 drinks, cheese sticks, a country fried steak, green beans, mashed potatoes, and a salad. $20 before tip. Food was really good. A nice change of pace from the fast food at chain truck stops. Had to ask for our ticket to pay after waiting for quite a while. Server seemed a little preoccupied. Cool little pizza section in the back with a place to sit and eat. It appeared closed when we were there (around 8:30p). Cashier in the convenience store section was distracted and on the phone when we came up to pay for our shower. Seemed annoyed but all is well. All in all a good stop. We plan to return when in the area again. read more

Okay, it's a restaurant in a truck stop. The service was about what you'd expect, the cook looked like a teenager, but the food he cranked out decent food. The bacon cheeseburger was a really good sandwich, and the pork chop dinner was spot on. All in all, a worthy stop. read more

First time I came here did not expect much, looking at it from the outside. It is old, with a dirt lot. But, when I went in, I was impressed by it's cleanliness. The food is good truck stop food, the people are friendly and helpful. I make it a point to come here, now. read more

Sometimes it's really good and sometimes it's really bad. Our visit depends on if we get one of the good waitresses or one that sucks. It depends on if the good cook is working that night or if the crappy cook is working. The inconsistencies is why we usually choose a different place. Maybe they just need a descent management staff. read more

Clean bathrooms, clean everything from what I have seen. Clean smelling and pleasant envirolment. Prices were on par. Fried pickles were good, my double burger was good and can tell was fresh flame grilled with good selection of condiments. Fries were on par and NOT greasy. My gf had the chef salad which was taking a whole plate up for size and that was fresh with no browning of lettuce. This restaurant is family friendly and has a nice environment. I would recommend this as a pit stop for a relaxing dining. Also. They have fried bologna. Yummm. read more

A 5 star truck stop dining experience. $4 for a giant bowl of soup beans and a big ol bowl of greens. The best fried Bologna sammich you will ever eat and friendly locals at the helm. If you like this kind of home cooking it's a great, quick stop on that Long stretch of road between Memphis and Texarkana. Far more charm than your average truck stop. read more

Four stars for a truck stop restaurant. If it were not at a truck stop I would give the food a near 3 stars. The food was fresh and the service good. You usually do not find both of these things at a truck stop. Nothing much else in the area and the wife was hungry. We would eat here again. read more

All in all not totally crap but certainly could be improved quite a bit. I ordered an appetizer of fried mushrooms the 12-ounce ribeye with french fries and a dinner salad, the mushrooms were an exceptional flavor of burnt Grease, the dinner salad was so small that it could fit in the palm of my hand and the ribeye was one quarter fat. I had to ask to have the mushrooms removed from my bill, in my opinion that was a little rude to not do it automatically. read more

Ate in the restaurant tonight, prices was fair. But if you like your food with some taste, than bring your own seasoning. I don't think they even know what salt and pepper is. And someone please teach the waitress to pick her feet up as she walks, so annoying to listen to her dragging her feet. But some folks was happy with their meal, so maybe I'd try them again. read more
