Beware of Misleading Diagnosis - Get a Second Opinion!…read more We recently took our 2019 Lincoln Nautilus to Alpha Automotive in Locust Grove due to sluggish performance and visible exhaust emissions. After a quick inspection, we were informed the vehicle needed a brand-new engine--a repair quoted between $9,000-$10,000. The staff insisted this was the only option, and they removed the engine cover during the process. Thankfully, we sought a second opinion from a trusted mechanic and took the car to Legacy in McDonough, where we were told an engine replacement was completely unnecessary. The issue turned out to be a known and documented problem with that engine model (supported by a Ford service bulletin), not a catastrophic failure. Legacy handled the fix properly, professionally, and at a fraction of the quoted cost. When we contacted Alpha Automotive about the removed engine cover, they did apologize--but that didn't change the fact that we were nearly misled into an expensive, unnecessary repair. Our recommendation: Always get a second opinion, especially when faced with high-cost diagnostics. This experience raises concerns about transparency and trustworthiness. Consumers deserve honesty, not what appears to be pressure tactics or oversight.

Everyone was really friendly and energetic and made me feel like I have been going here for years. Prices are affordable and just watching how they interacted with other customer, they didn't try to upsell anything and wasn't pushy when a service was turned down. I will be going back again in the future if I need help with a tire.

So when the technician finally arrived waited over a hour+ on the truck in front of me. I walked into the office and they were just chatting it up for a good 20 mins no care in the world that he could've paid and the next person in line could've pulled up. Once that driver out the way, they now tell me to slide my tandems to the front in which I could've been did while waiting in line over 2 hours+. That's something the associate could've had me do in advance. Yet he was using that as an excuse for the guy that was late to go buy food. Once they were slide he came back with his food yet still no one addressed the fact that I had them done or for us to discuss payment or invoices going further. Customer service lacks at this location as they don't have enough help. They literally was only doing tires with one person working. The front counter guy has stopped like 4 times to go smoke cigarettes without letting me know what's the hold up. I'm sure it's because the other dude wanted to eat but they need to factor in that other people time are valuable as well.
