My husband, toddler and I got the King's Platter which was perfect - two pieces of halibut, three shrimps and 3 scallops with a huge amount of fries, coleslaw, with what I assume was house made tartar sauce and seafood sauce. We were the only customers - we went in the Sunday of a long weekend shortly before closing - and had our food in front of us within ten minutes of entering. It all tasted fresh and delicious and "light" considering it was deep fried. The batter had good crunch. We loved all of it...our toddler loved the fries and the decor, especially the murals. We will absolutely be back.

Was excited to try this spot out for take out, but perhaps better to dine in instead…read more I got their lunch special of haddock and chips and was super excited to pick it up. Staff was very friendly and checked me out at the cash no problem. There weren't too many people dining in when I arrived. When I got to my destination to eat my take out (about only a 5 minute ride away), I did notice that both my fish and chips were on the soggier side, perhaps of the ride home and how it was packaged. Put into a box and wrapped in paper. The haddock and chips were okay in my opinion, but they didn't give any ketchup, vinegar or condiments with my order which was a tad odd and maybe what was lacking in the meal itself. Overall, I'd suggest dining in over getting take out to keep things on the fresher, crispier side.

Service was slower than expected...even considering the rush, and a little unorganized. If someone was going the payment only, not trying to also manage everything else, it would have gone much smoother. Staff were almost cordial, as much as expected. Looks like a strip mall fish and chips joint, not much to the decor or ambiance...but it is what you'd expect. I would get the fish again.

The coleslaw was fine (does anyone realllllly like coleslaw? Haha) It was $41 for two boxes of fish and chips (1 piece of halibut each) + the gravy + the coleslaw. A little pricey, but I would go again :)

All I can say is the lineup that was there to get orders for fish and chips was crazy It was a bit of a wait The wait was worthwhile The halibut was tender The batter crispy Chips were not as crispy but I can live with it Great spot for fish and chips and highly recommend them for a Friday fish meal

The seafood platter is a dish, my partner and I share and I just imagine someone finishing the whole thing, although I'm sure there are people who do. The service is always excellent. My partner wanted lemon merengue pie for a sweet ending. The portion was enough for the two of us to share. It is an open kitchen style where you get to witness the magic happening. Oh, and for the record, their chips are probably second to none. My partner is actually Mrs. Potato-head, so she is very discerning.

The haddock was good - tasty & reasonably crispy even eaten 15 mins later as takeout. The chips had an authentic British crispiness, so they'd have been better when fresh. The shrimp was coconut shrimp rather than being normal battered shrimp (this isn't mentioned on the main menu, but elsewhere). It was decent, though the slightly spicy cocktail sauce did not really go with it. There was quite a bit of "shrimp" (i.e. reformed shrimp patty with a shrimp tail stuck in). Both dishes came with a small serving (sauce container) of coleslaw. It was decent - crisp & tasty, though a touch sharp.

I love how convenient it is to just season your food the way you like it. The only downside is that the portion was quite small...not sure if it's always this size or if it's because of their BOGO offer.

Small quaint place tucked away in a small plaza in a neighborhood side street with promises of offering traditional British fare. Pleanty of parking in the plaza. First thought inside was a tad dated but a cute neighborhood joint . Menu offered a number of British classics like mushy peas and meat pies.. but I came for the fish and chips. Cool thing you can choose you fish, halibut, haddock and Cod. I chose the combo meal with gave 2 big pieces of battered fish, chips and 2 sides and I chose the mushy peas and coleslaw (when in Rome lol). I thought the fish was done perfectly and chips were crispy on the outside and tender. I enjoyed it here, the price was reasonable I thought and our server was friendly. I would recommend this place if you are craving decent fish and chips.

I only come to this place as a back up to "Duckworths" and "Olde Yorke". They are very close by and worth it to go to these places instead. That is where I'll be taking my fish and chips business. Because they are 10 times better in quality and taste. 1st bad experience: I came here about a month ago and I checked their website for their hours as I had to drive 50 minutes to get there. Once I got there they had posted a paper sign that they were gone fishing and closed for a week or two. Now, I know everybody deserves a break or vacation. I'm not mad about that BUT they should notify their paying customers, especially on their website. That is where they failed. 2nd bad experience: so I still came back (ugh) recently because I was in the area. This time I called to make sure they are open. I proceeded to order a superb fillet of Haddock as it is their first menu item. The lady at the desk said ok halibut. I said no the haddock. I had to go on my phone and show her the menu item. Fine, I then proceeded to order a steak pie. I said cooked and she said do you want to cook it at home? I told her NO I want to eat it right away. OMG. I also ordered a small onion rings. This is after literally 4 minutes of ordering just 3 menu items. I mean the lady spoke English so there was no language barrier. She was just, how do you say politely "unintelligent". I thought whatever, maybe it'll be ready in 5-10 minutes. THEN The order taker passes it onto another waitress, it took her (I'm not joking) literally 3 minutes to explain superb haddock fillet and steak pie. Then she asks me anything else. I was completely exasperated, I told her " I ALSO ORDERED ONION RINGS" OMFG. This lady is "UNINTELLIGENT" OMFG I just left And Took my business to "Olde Yorke Fish and chips". Where I'll be taking my business from now on. I am NEVER coming back here again And If you want a decent Fish and chips for the food and experience. Go to Duckworths at Main and Danforth Or Olde Yorke Fish and Chips on Laird and Eglington.
