They're a bit far, so we don't drop them off for short periods, but they've always taken the best care of our dogs while gone for extended periods. Here at pooch palace they book maybe 2-3 months out, but have a fantastic place they are happy to show you. Dogs (multiple pups from the same family) can share a bedroom with a theme. Dogs must be approved and have a complimentary day beforehand. Some reasons we love here: 1. Someone is there 24/7. 2. No kennels. We do bring their beds and a couple favorite toys and food. You could do daycare or a longer stay. 3. They keep up on Instagram 5 days a week so you can see your pups! 4. They are very responsive. Of course I was nervous as it was the pups first time away from us for a week, so I called and even if they didn't answer right away they call back very soon. 5. Pups go outside a lot as weather allows. There are plenty of trees and dogs are divided into small and big dog areas. Ours became friends with a bull dog. 6. They do dog report cards. Only pups with all green marks can stay during the smaller amount of pups holiday times. Our alpha had a couple yellow marks as she can be loud on the playground! I'm glad they let us know. We love this place and will forever use them!

Sunny is an old dog now and I more than ever appreciate their attention to his changes in vision and coordination. They have strict drop-off times (not conducive to my work schedule), and if you need a time outside of 9-11am for drop-off, you pay $10 extra...same thing if you need to pick up outside of 3-5pm. I work 7a-3p M-F. I was going to drop Arvo off Thursday evening instead of Friday morning so I wouldn't have to pay another night's stay. I had called and left a voicemail stating this. BUT when I got there Friday morning, doors were locked and after I knocked, someone came to the door and said they did know we were coming..... OKAY....I left a voicemail and apparently no one listened to it. Also, I paid for needed rabies, bordatella and one other vaccine so he would be allowed to stay there (over $100). Why would I do that if I wasn't bringing him?? Then since I couldn't be there in time for a 5pm pickup on Sunday, I had to wait until 8pm to get him, which was another $10 tacked on to my bill...There's a person that goes in at 8p to let out and feed the dogs anyway, but I had to pay EXTRA?? Customer service here SUCKS!!

It doesn't have the atmosphere of…read moreconstant chaos like some daycares; they train the dogs to modify behavior during their stay to create a more controlled and safe environment. For example, they train the dogs to calm down after the doorbell rings when you go to pick up your dog. The dogs still get to play and have fun, but things never get out of control or too loud! My dog is always so excited to walk in when I drop her off! And while she's gone I get picture and video updates of her stay, and, sometimes, they even send her home with a goody bag. Another unique feature- someone is always there even for overnight stays (no unsupervised kenneling overnight!). BH also offers grooming. My dog used to have anxiety about being groomed from a previous bad experience. Loren had the patience to work with her and, over time, got her to the point where not only was she not afraid, but he didn't even need to use any of the usual restraints that most groomers always use. I am so grateful to have had this daycare for my dog, and I will miss them a lot now that I have to move away from IC. Once Loren heard I was moving, he even offered to help me find a new facility for my dog in our new city. He took the time to call other facilities and let me know which he thought was best. This really shows how much he cares about me and my dog even after we no longer will be regular clients for BH. BH really goes above and beyond to help your dog develop good behaviors and give them a safe and fun environment for their stays!

My son and his wife got Daisy a few months ago. She had been through a lot, and had a lot of anxiety. They adopted her at the beginning of shelter-in-place during the pandemic. This was great, because it helped Daisy to spend lots of time with her pack (and extended pack!). They are both back to work and faced a huge decision--leave her home alone (which she didn't tolerate well at all) or consider a doggy day care option. We found Bounding Hounds and I can unequivocally say that you can't find a better place for your dog. They are all incredibly knowledgeable and they care about YOUR dog. The owner, Loren, is incredible. After her second day, he spent time talking to us about how to work with her at home to reinforce some of what they have been doing with her. I am a psychologist--his recommendations were so spot on. Here is the kicker--remember, this dog is a "nervous Nellie"--when we dropped her off, as soon as they opened the gate, she SPRINTED off and never looked back! She was so happy to see us--but at the same time, tried to follow Loren back inside. The fact that she is so happy there speaks VOLUMES to me. Finding a place for your dog is like taking your child to daycare---it is so hard to do. Talk to them. These guys are incredible. You won't regret it!

The morning of drop off, she went to the vet again and had 2 more prescriptions on top of her existing one. They were amazing with her! I called way more times than I will admit and I was greeted with kindness every time. The owner kept up communication with me as she did struggle the first couple of days. His wife and kids came in to give her meds, love, playtime, and lots of cuddles. By day 3, she was back to her wild baby self. I wouldn't hesitiate for an instant to take her back, or to recommend them to anyone. She was so spoiled and loved, I couldn't have asked for anything more.
