I've taken my puppy here for both daycare and boarding, and I couldn't be happier! I feel great leaving him with the staff here. My pup all but leaps out of my car as soon as we pull up because he's so excited, and the staff are equally as excited to see him. Both daycare and boarding are very reasonably priced, I'd say the best deal in the area. I love the questionnaire they have when you enroll your dog in daycare. It's great that they want to get to know your dog before you drop them off. They're very quick to respond and get you set up. My puppy comes home happy and just a little dirty - the way a puppy should be! He sleeps like a rock after playing like crazy. They do offer baths if you don't want to pick up a dirty pup, which is awesome. In all I'd highly recommend Half Moon Kennels! read more

Half Moon will be where we board our dogs anytime we leave town. We are so glad to have found such a great kennel since we are new to the area. We have 2 dogs and not only was Half Moon affordable to board both of them but have plenty of space/land for them to run and play. I dropped our two healthy Labrador dogs/family members off at Half Moon Kennels for boarding from 8/7/2018 through 8/11/2018. A day and a half later our youngest Lab became ill and when it appeared like he was getting better our older Lab became ill. I called the Half Moon Kennels and they said they had reported cases of Kennel Cough. Both dogs saw the vet regularly and were up to date with their vaccinations. Fast forward to last night 8/17/2018 and the younger Lab started showing signs of being ill again. This morning we rushed him to the Vet ER and at 9 years old has died from sepsis, a complication from the kennel cough turning into pneumonia. I left my devastated teenage daughters with our now dead little man at the Vet ER and ran home and brought our older ill Lab to the Vet ER. We couldn't lose both of our family members in one day. Our older Lab has kennel cough and pneumonia. He is under observation and being put on antibiotics and will be spending a night or two at the Vet ICU. Both of our dogs were healthy dogs one week ago. They aren't around other dogs other than when they went to Half Moon Kennels and today my family grieves the loss of our sweet, sweet Shadow and we pray that our older Lab will rebound and come home to us. Taking our dogs to Half Moon Kennels has devastated our family and has forced us to grieve the death of our dog and our little man prematurely. I don't wish that upon anyone. Please, please don't let this happen to your family. read more

The best around. We've tried a few places and Roseann is the best. Our little pup has trouble sleeping in a large kennel so she worked with him to find a place that worked. They have a great piece of land in Tiffin that's great for the dogs to run around and play in. I couldn't recommend it more! read more

The only place you should take your dog for daycare/boarding! They have so much land to run around, they post pictures on their facebook page during the day so you can check on your pet, and the staff is friendly. They are super flexible when I have to drop my dog off last-minute for daycare too. read more

We have used Half Moon once in the past for a single overnight and our three year old goldendoodle had a fantastic time. As the other reviewers have reported there is plenty of space to run outdoors, but he was very dirty when he returned home. Otherwise he was a happy and healthy pup. This past weekend he spent three days two nights at Half Moon and we asked the staff to bathe him before we picked him up. We were disappointed with the check-in process. The two women at the desk seemed too busy to bother with us. They did not ask for instructions on how to feed our dog or what his normal routine was. When we picked him up we weren't given any information about how he behaved or ate over the weekend so we assumed that everything was normal. He had also been bathed but he was dripping wet and it was 45 degrees outside and very cool inside the building. We took him home immediately and towel dried him but had to wrap our 80 lb dog in blankets for most of the night for him to warm up. This is extremely abnormal behavior, most of the time he seeks out the coolest place in the house. He has also been experiencing gastro-intestinal issues since he returned home. I called to ask if he could have been exposed to anything and the owner did promptly return my phone call and answered my questions. But, she did also ask if Dewey ate their food or his for the weekend. I am a bit frustrated that this information wasn't recorded or reported to me on pick-up. She said that he didn't have any issues over the weekend, but I'm not confident that these would have been reported. The owner also offered us a free bath on the next visit. Overall, we are disappointed with our experience. I do not blame Half Moon for our dog's gastro-intestinal issues, we acknowledge that some of the issue may be due to the stress of being boarded for the weekend, however, I do wish that more care had been taken on check-in and pick-up. We have no idea how much he ate over the weekend or if he ate at all. We can only presume as the food that we supplied was gone. I am also extremely unhappy with the bathing service. The owner explained that the employee washing the dogs must have been very busy, but this is no excuse for not at least towel drying the dogs, especially on a cold damp day. read more

From friend's recommendations, we have started taking our Yorkie-Pomeranian older pet to Half Moon. She is well cared for, seems happy and not stressed out when we pick her up - plus the staff is kind and very attentive to the canine and human customers - plus the price is very reasonable. Happy that our pet gets to run outside with dogs her size. read more
