This was my first time using this grooming business. My first impression of the building was that it smelled strongly of urine. I noticed that they share the building with a dog rescue so I thought maybe the kennels just had not been cleaned yet that morning-but it still smelled like urine when I returned to pick my dog up. The receptionist pointed out a front paw that had been hit by the dremel-she described it like road rash. When I got home I noticed that a lot of hair had been missed in the grooming and was somewhat uneven-my dog is a miniature poodle-and that her ears were uneven and shorter than requested. On further examination of her paws, it was actually a back paw that had been injured and was covered in a yellowish gunk. When I called to ask about it they said they put this on to stem the bleeding but that she did not bleed. Later in the week, I noticed my dog chewing on that paw and now I could clearly see she has a fairly significant cut on the paw. I also requested an incident report as soon as I got home. They said it would be provided in the "report card" they would send later that day. The report card came with a note basically blaming my dog for the injury and today-the "report card" is no longer available to access. My dog has been going to the groomer every 6-8 weeks for 6 years and has never had an issue. We are new to this community so I needed to find a new groomer. Needless to say, I will never return to this groomer. I wish I had the name of the person who was the groomer so I could make sure to never use her again-even if she goes to another grooming company. read more
