I cannot say enough good things about Hilltop! The short story is that I needed to board my already sick kitten while I was away on business for a week. The morning of drop off, she went to the vet again and had 2 more prescriptions on top of her existing one. They were amazing with her! I called way more times than I will admit and I was greeted with kindness every time. The owner kept up communication with me as she did struggle the first couple of days. His wife and kids came in to give her meds, love, playtime, and lots of cuddles. By day 3, she was back to her wild baby self. I wouldn't hesitiate for an instant to take her back, or to recommend them to anyone. She was so spoiled and loved, I couldn't have asked for anything more. read more

My dog was boarded one night (Saturday ) and I picked up during the two hour window they were open on Sunday. I was charged $64 even though our dog was there one night only. I called to clarify why I was charged for two days on the weekend when it says on the website $31 per dog, she said that was the policy of the management. I asked to speak to managers and she was flippant and rude with me, only later in the conversation admitting she was the manager. read more

Took my cat there for a week while going on vacation. They said there would be no dogs in their kennel room; My cat has never been around other animals as far as I know (though he was adopted from a shelter,) and I felt safe leaving him there. We left a couple toys, his scratching post, food, and a blanket with our scent on it. I paid in full when we dropped him off. The staff members I met were nice; A young man who lived up the street and a girl (older teenager maybe?) who was super energetic and helpful. We left with no worries. When we returned, we were charged an extra day ($20) because we were an hour late picking him up. That's fine, no big deal. When we went into the cat kennel room, however, there a large dog below him, a little off to the side. After saying hi to the dog, I turned toward my cat and the dog began barking her poor throat out. My cat didn't seem to react much, and this now leaves me thinking that they had put other dogs in the same room which desensitized him. After getting him settled back home, he began sneezing almost uncontrollably. He's never been sick before, at least not this bad. After reading other reviews, I'm marking this off as Kennel Cough. Aside from the sheer fact that they lied about the dogs and have no means of keeping viruses at bay, I'm honestly not sure if I'll leave any animal there again. read more

After two nights of boarding our six month old beagle came down with kennel cough. We wrote it off as a fluke. We took our dog back for doggy daycare a few days a month. Today our dog came down with kennel cough again. Twice in less than three months is not a fluke. We will not be taking our dog back. read more

Took my cat for one day of boarding while I moved on July 23rd. Really impressed with the polite staff/owners. The owners might be new? But apparently live near to the kennel so that made me feel really confident leaving my beloved cat there in their care. He was rattled when I picked him up because of the dogs but in general he evened out about a day later...keep in mind my baby was also getting used to the brand new digs. They took great care of him at a reasonable cost and I can't say enough about how much easier my life was moving with him in their care. Thanks Hilltop. read more

I've never kenneled my dog here, but I wouldn't be afraid to. What I do go to the kennels for is to buy food for my dog. I feed the dog Pro Pac Adult mini chunk. When ever I go I find all the staff cool and friendly, and when I take the dog with she is given some sort of treat. read more

Very disappointed after my recent business here. They have done a decent job in the past with just my older beagle. But this last time when I picked up my 2 other dogs they had cuts, scrapes, and gashes all over them. One now has an infection on his nose. I don't plan on taking my dogs here again. read more

We have used Hilltop kennels for boarding in the last few years. The women at the front desk are passionate about animals and do a great job. I recently used their grooming service. I was quoted a $45 grooming fee, but when I returned to pick up my dog, the fee was $75. Needless to say I was not happy. They should stand behind the quote. This is the second time Hilltop has misrepresented themselves. We will no longer be using Hilltop for our dog. read more

I would definitely recommend this place! I boarded my 4.5 month old puppy Reggie here for 5 nights and they made me feel completely at ease leaving him. I wasn't sure if he was ready to be in a more social boarding environment, so I felt good about choosing Hilltop Kennels. Because he's so young, they did determine he might need some exercise so they even took him to run around outside, but still respected my wishes that he be kept separate from the daycare dogs. They also tolerated his untrained puppy jumping/nipping, which I know can be frustrating :) I'm also pretty sure they gave him a bath before we picked him up, which we did not ask/pay for! I like the accomodations for the dog, but the owners and most of the staff are rude and un-caring. They raised their rates whitout notification and charge you for two days even though my dog was only there for a of 23 hours., how is that fair! Also, I picked up my dog one time and her beeding was completly soaked. I was told the rain sometime blows in. They say it's heated, well if you have a true in-door dog beware, it's freaking cold in the kennels, I checked. Not my best choice anymore! read more

Would not recommend this kennel in summer or winter months, 1 dog ended up dehydrated and bladder infection (165.00 emergency vet bill) and another dog had waste hanging off her bottom. Do not ever take your dog here if you care about them! They keep the dogs in dark rooms with the lights off and barely turn any heat on so it is cold. Some of the dogs are even put in a basement. They pay no attention to your dog unless you pay for a "playtime" which is a five minute walk on a leash in a fenced in area not the nature walk around the pond that the website states. Many of the dogs have vomiting and diarrhea because of the poor quality dog food they feed them. The dogs and their bedding often get wet and are left that way. Please if you care about your dog do not bring them here they only care about a profit! read more

We were recommended Hilltop Kennels and decided to give them a try when we went on vacation. Typically both of our dogs are left with family members when we leave town, but with family already watching our son we decided to give them a try. The experience was wonderful, the staff was extremely friendly and our loved ones were well taken care of. When I picked them up they were clean and full of energy. I had the pleasure of meeting the owners who live on site and appear to be a wonderful family. We will definitely be returning customers due to the care our dogs received and the excellent service we received. read more
