I had a pretty good experience at Halal Burger Co. today with my godson. We came in at about 1:45pm on Sunday. There were two customers when we entered and a family of four arrived after we began to eat. The restaurant is immaculately clean and the staff are welcoming and attentive. I mean, this place is literally spotless. We ordered a Halal Majesty double burger with fries and a Coke, 6 mango habanero wings, and a steak Philly cheesesteak. It took about 10 minutes to receive our food, but it was cooked to order so the small wait was totally fine. My godson loved his burger, giving it an 8.5/10, and stating that it was "a not h above In-N-Out." The mango habanero wings were pretty tasty that I had. They were juicy, the sauce was recognizably both mango and habanero, and were decent-sized. The only reason I'm giving this place 4/5 stars and not 5/5 is due to the steak Philly cheesesteak. It was the weak-link of the meal. For some reason it just didn't have much flavor and there were a few too many fatty steak pieces in it. The roll was also disappointing. I think that most of the rest of the menu is truly solid. Overall, a great option for fast-food/bar food that issues high-quality ingredients, is made-to-order, and offers a difference you can taste. I had the halal majesty burger and fries and decided to stop by after seeing a video about the slain security guard who protected the mosque in Balboa. This was one of his favorite spots to eat. The owner was very amicable and welcoming. The food was very tasty and the burger was juicy. The fries had a great seasoning and were great with ketchup. I was the only person in there, but the place was clean and welcoming. I had a great talk with the owner after my meal. I'd definitely come back in again! read more

The meat was medium cooked with a texture that was a bit tough. The fries were not as crisp. Burger 6/10. Ordered a $17 steak salad that was supposed to come with strawberries and blueberries and a salad dressing. And I got none of that and then when I said something, he asked if I wanted a burger instead. No I just waited 15 minutes for you to cook some steak (doused in oil 4 times and not so healthy) for some shredded lettuce. No, I don't want a burger. I would've appreciated my money back though since u did not get what I ordered... I don't think he understood English either. You'll feel good about eating the food here. The guys making the food were extremely kind and happy to do their job. Ahmed greeted me and my friend with a smile when we walked in and made sure we had everything we needed when the food came out. I ordered the double cheeseburger and fries. My friend ordered buffalo wings. I tried it but like a crispier wing so would just ask for fried hard. The buffalo flavor was good though. The burger was refreshing but felt like it was missing something. Maybe bacon? Ahmed explained to me that they don't really have halal appropriate bacon for this franchise so, that's a no. Maybe a special sauce? I'm sure I'm just brainwashed but it needed a little extra something. I wouldn't rush to come back soon but I wouldn't turn it down if someone else wanted to go kinda thing? It a double cheese burger with onion, lettuce, tomatoes, jalapenos, and of course pickles on a toasted bun. The burger's meat was very juicy and tender. I did feel that it needed a little more seasoning. All the ingredients were very fresh. I liked the grilled onions but the fresh jalapenos were a little over done, but tasty. The service was very good. When I visited, it was a one man show, so the owner was at the front and kitchen going back and forth, but he got it done! There's a good amount of inside seating available. Next time, I want to try the Philly Steak Sandwich. I hear it is very good. There's free customer parking in the garage. Loved the small menu because I'm indecisive. We tried the majesty and Philly steak. The burger tasted homestyle and was full of flavor. As for the beef Philly, it was none like I ever had, not saying it was bad, just different. It had lettuce and tomatoes, it was like a steak burger. I liked it. The sign passing by was what caught my attention. They don't have many options because I think they discontinued their pizza. They have burgers and wings. Halal Burger Co. on El Cajon Blvd is SO good and deserves all the hype! We stopped in and were immediately greeted by the owner. Super welcoming, super friendly and it really set the tone for the whole experience. Now the food... WOW. I'm a wet lemon pepper wing girl through and through, and let me tell you -- these wings were AMAZING. Perfectly sauced, great flavor. We also grabbed two chicken sandwiches , a cheesesteak, and fries. Everything was fresh and seasoned well. I was skeptical about the cabbage on the chicken sandwiches at first, but it actually ties the whole thing together and gives it a really nice crunch instead of just lettuce for no reason. Second time visiting and tried the chicken sandwich (at a burger spot) and it was delicious. The breading was crispy and the jalapeños were a nice compliment. Suggest to add a little extra sauce. If I could give zero stars, I would. I ordered online and showed up 10 minutes after the scheduled pickup time, but still had to wait another 20 minutes. The service was completely disorganized -- they almost forgot my burger, and I only got it because I asked. Even then, it was made wrong. I asked for no pickles, and it came with extra. The food itself was disappointing. The burger was mediocre at best, and the Oreo shake was awful -- basically milk with a little ice cream. I understand they only had two people working, but that doesn't excuse both bad service and poor food quality. The place also looked unsanitary, which made the whole experience worse. One of the best burgers I ever ate! I will certainly return to enjoy this juicy, quickly served meal!. The retail establishment is clean and sparkling, and BRAND NEW! I love patronizing small local businesses. This particular location FRONTS right on El CAJON BLVD- large floor-to ceiling vertical windows allow both a great deal of light and you get to watch the world cycle by. TONS of FREE parking in the garage (Everywehere else in the college area is heavy parking problems, but NOT here! ) All the food here is made to order- the chef is QUICK - MUCH faster than the big McChain Drive throughs. If you have preferances, they are also quick to accomodate you- I dont care for tomatoes, so they took those off and then (of their own accord!) added more lettuce and other good sstuff to fill me up. The fries were absolutely delicious as well. This filled me up right away, so I didnt have room for the desserts- NEXT TIME I will come back specifically for a DESSERT RUN! Also, they have lots of juices available, from coconut juice to SOURSOP (its actually very sweet- I do recommend it if you havent had that before) . Been hunting for a decent halal burger, and I think I hit the jackpot! It's not your typical burger, but it was awesome. The purple cabbage and pickled jalapeños gave it a unique twist.
