Ask for Tu, she does a fantastic job for the price. Shes never gotten my requests wrong.

They have a sign that says no wait. 50% of the time I have gone in there to get a haircut they'll be nobody in there and they'll say they're too busy and I could come back the next day.. I think it's time to maybe put up a new sign and say reservations only.. I have opted to just go over to great clips across the street. read more

I haven't had a haircut in a while, so I went in to get several inches trimmed off. They were quick and did a great job. I love my new haircut! read more

Barbara, did a great job. Now, my daughter is going on Saturday. I will definitely recommend her.

I've been living in Fairwood for 20 years. This place is overpriced for what you get. You can get a better haircut and better service somewhere else for what you pay. Take your money somewhere else where you can get a better value. So disappointed. read more

Great color, haircut, and style with Lu. I trust her and the service is a good value.

Got my haircut from Cindy and she does a great job exactly what I liked and will come back again and again and again.

for years I have gone to Hair Masters in both Factoria and Newcastle.. and had great results. Just moved to Fairwood, drove past this one, and sign on door said "No Wait", so I parked and went in. Assunming that No Wait meant they had at least one person available for a hair cut. When I entered, they acted like "Gee, we are so busy, we may not be able to fit you in". Then someone piped up that she had time. I asked for a simple trim. A little less than an inch. I also wanted a wash and blow dry. Person doing my hair took a couple personal phone calls during my cut. She cut my hair waaaay too short (at least 1-1/2" or more!!). Then instead of blow drying my hair, just used her fingers to fluff it up some, which leaves me with lots of curl. I HATE CURL in my hair- blow drying it makes it sleek and straight. Told her that and that I wanted a blow dry, but I did not get one... Said she was too busy. Will never go back. read more

I had a hair cut today i got charged almost 4 dollars extra for cleaning. However salon are always supposed to clean after every client no just now in covid19 time. Why are they charging 4 extra dollars for one doing nothing more than they supposed to do before the epidemic!!! Is their job to clean!! 4 dollars it is almost criminal to charge each client . A bottle of bleach cost 2 dollars!!! I never saw any sanitizer in thevsalon for me to use. THEY ARE TAKING ADVANTAGE of the situation. read more

Always can count on Cindy to get me in for a last minute appointment! She definitely cuts and styles my hair the way I want it every time, plus she's the sweetest! read more

Well we won't even try here anymore. Been fine the last couple times, but today we had an appt at 10 and arrived at 9:50. One woman working on a client's hair greeted us, we told her about our appt. She said ok. Never bothered to update about how long it might be- I assumed someone else would come in, but no. 20 minutes later she is still working on this client. So we leave and go to great clips across the street, where they have two workers and promptly started on us. I get that things happen and appts might have to wait- all I ask is to be told an estimate so we could leave and come back - we needed to go to safeway anyway so if we were told we could have used our time better. read more

Trust me, go somewhere else -- i was a stylist here. To start, if your stylist thinks you'll keep your mouth shut about high prices they will inflate the cost of everything on you ~ check the website, it litterly says we can do that. And, you won't even get a good stylist from here: these are the stylists that are just getting their career started and learned on you, you can get a much better style somewhere else. You'll come in and pay like 50 bucks for them to blowdry your hair and barely even do anything to style it because it looks better most the time aftet that, and you'll pay an extra 20 bucks to flat iron. read more

Very bad service. Asked for a trim and got scalped at Fairwood Renton Hairmasters.

Okay so i went in with light auburn/ash brown hair and I had asked to have my hair bleached and colored grey. The stylist said she could definitely do it. We get my hair bleached and it's quite light blonde nearing platinum so there shouldn't be any issue right? WRONG She dyed my roots black and added the grey, but when we rinsed and dried my hair, it was green. Like. an ugly green and my scalp and roots were a very bold sharpie blue. The stylist was telling me that black has a blue tint and there was black on my head...I've taken color theory and I know that was a lie. If anything, it would have all been green or brownish red. She offered to add another layer of color on because she said that sometimes two applications would make the color pop better. I said yes because I wanted this mess to be fixed. She adds a red violet toner to neutralize the green and then adds some more grey dye. After the rinse, my hair was now a muddy purple, with patches of brown, green and my roots were still blue and looked like a sharpie marker exploded on my head. She offered a third time to fix it, but her attitude was incredibly "whatever" She would say things like "I mean..I could color it again, i don't know. I mean. like....I bleached it as much and well..i dunno" with an attitude of not really caring that much that my hair was now fried and awful looking. I had already been there for 6 hours out of what was supposed to be a 2 hours appointment. At that point I just wanted to go home. A few days later and my scalp is STILL Blue and my hair is still blotchy. I paid almost 200 for my hair to be fried, and looking absolutely terrible. Very unsatisfied and working to heal my incredibly damaged hair read more

Hannah Vickers did a gorgeous job on my new subtle highlights and a great haircut! It's exactly what I wanted. She was careful and meticulous in the foiling process, and it took about two hours. Not surprised, as I have fine hair but LOTS of it. Color turned out perfect, followed up by a massage shampoo and toner/conditioner. I could not be happier - and the price? WOW! GREAT deal! read more

Tu will take great care of you! Consistent great cuts and shampoos for an older gentleman with particular tastes.

Leaving a review because I rely on yelp for everything, and that includes haircuts, and it's HARD to find a place that does a decent pixie cut for less than $50. I walked in on a weekday afternoon and got set up for a haircut immediately, no wait. Being a big chain, this place is super affordable, and my haircut with Lana was exactly what I wanted. I have straight Asian hair and wanted a low maintenance pixie cut - the kind where I don't have to do any styling to have it look good. And that's what she gave me. For $12, I got a razor cut on dry hair (the dry hair was at my request, since pixie cuts look very different when wet), followed by shampoo and condition, and quick blow dry. She didn't push products on me, and I felt like she listened to what I said. She also didn't cut my hair too short or take too much off the back, which is a problem I've had in the past. Several weeks later, I still have no complaints and I plan on coming back! read more

Because this is close to my house and inexpensive, I try really hard to give this location a chance. Most of the time, I'm relatively satisfied - after all, what do I expect for a $20 haircut? But this time, I paid $50 plus tip for color (I left before my hair was dry) - and had virtually black hair! So, if the color had been a good one, $60 would have been okay. But since I normally go to Grocery Outlet, get Clairol (they have L'Oreal and Garnier, -owned by L'Oreal - usually, too, but because L'Oreal got punished not too long ago by European courts for racist behavior and because of racist behavior here in the US, I don't get either one - sad, too, 'cause I really liked L'Oreal's Couleur Experte), and get amazing color that leaves my hair silky smooth for less than $5, you can imagine that this was quite upsetting. I had some leftover Clairol semi-permanent Toasted Almond, and it gave it a bit of shine, but it's still very dark. So - basically out $60, out another almost hour, and I'm probably going to have to highlight my hair, anyway. So while normally I do get what I pay for, in color, I got way less than what I paid for! read more

Lauren is the best. Color, cut, always turn out super! Good clean store, good parking, great location! read more

HairMasters - Hair Salons Near Me - Renton, Washington

DO NOT GO HERE. Especially if you have a men's cut. My line up is not even, I asked for a fade and that didn't happen. The lady with the short red bob should not be working there, I don't even know how she got her license. Terrible job, you're better off cutting your hair yourself. read more

We did an impulse walk-in. I wanted someone to clean up the cut on my mother's short thin hair (I'd been trimming it myself and doing a mediocre job of it), and also to show me how to style her hair to look nice, so she wouldn't have to wear her wig when "dressing up". We got Karen. She understood exactly what we wanted. It's funny, it didn't seem like she cut off much hair, but the shape when she was done was so much nicer than it was before. Then, she patiently explained each step as she styled my mom's hair, so I could reproduce it at home. We loved the results. read more

Great haircuts, simple but they listen to what you want and then they pull it off. That's all I'm looking for and they delivered.

Brian was my hairstyle guardian angel. Power was out at home so I couldn't style my hair for holiday party. Took me on short notice. Power went out halfway through styling. He improvised and my style was awesome! Great attitude about a situation that was worrysome for me. Many compliments received at the party. A+ read more

Julie is awesome...we havent talked much but thats because I think she is a good "reader" of people. Im not much of a talker and she doesnt force it. Getting my hair done by her is one of the most relaxing things I do. Thanks Julie hope to find you here when I get back from my exciting year long trip :-) read more

I made an appt the day of to have a root touch up and have my brass blonde hair toned to ash. I had never visited beforehand, and honestly not too experienced with managing my hair. Miyako was my stylist. She spent 2.5 hours on my ridiculously thick lion mane and the outcome was exactly what I wanted. She is so adorable and sweet. She was very detailed and knowledgeable of styling techniques and walked me through the process of what she was doing to my hair. I am very impressed. Prices were reasonable. They really seem to push buying products too, but I had a good experience overall. read more

Unbelievable what a huge waste of money my "haircut" was. 7 minutes on the chair and no wash for $19.50. I walked in and got Hana who unbeknownst to me squeezed me in minutes before her next appointment. I opted not to get a shampoo since I just already washed my hair. Apparently it's the same price whether you receive the shampoo or not. Just a mere 7 minutes later she was done and my hair looked exactly the same. No styling products and no dry. I left with my hair damp. I'm so disappointed. I didn't expect much for a hair salon in a strip mall but it would've been a lot better if she actually took the time to cut layers in my hair to take the bulk out like I asked. Or if she let another stylist who didn't have an upcoming appointment take me. I'll never be back and I highly suggest you take your money elsewhere. This "salon" was the worst by far. read more

I would not recommend this place at all. It seemed like she didn't even want to do my hair at all. The color turned out wrong and there were missing pieces of color in my hair. Not to mention overpriced. It is not worth the service. read more

I've come here throughout the years and always left with a great haircut. This time, I cut off 12" to donate to charity. Lana did a great job turning the rest of my hair into a cute lob, exactly what I was looking for. She's been working here for 15 years and is an expert. Great cut for the price. I'll be back. read more

I was not impressed with the service we received here. I had to ask to have my daughters hair dried after her cut. It was freezing outside! Then I get home to find that she had missed a bunch of hair in back, so I had to fix it. We won't be going back. read more

I recently treated my girlfriend out to what was supposed to be a nice haircut & a platinum dyed hair. Instead, the lady who did her hair completely messed it up and instead of being platinum blonde, she now has gray-ish/blu-ish colored hair. I paid a lot of money, too! I do NOT reconmend this place seeing as it's more like "Hair Amateurs" rather than "Masters". read more

I've been to a few different hair salons before, and a few different hair masters before. I had a very good experience here. It is no fancy pants salon, but for the price, this was definitely worth it! I came in as a walk in customer and I had to wait no more than 5 minutes before someone was able to help me. I'm always apprehensive to get my hair cut at all after a major disaster some years ago. Julie was very nice and made sure to take the time to understand what I wanted. My hair cut was GREAT, it looks good, it feels good and everyone was so friendly. If I need another haircut while I'm living in fairwood, I'll definitely be back. read more

This would be less if there was 0 stars , Hillary is impatient will argue with you and charge outrageous prices compared to other hairmasters locations !!! Not only that will talk over you and not listen to you with compassion. Very unprofessional from the minute of siting there. Also 2 other hairmasters looked at my hair and quoted 85 both locations one which I let do it. Other was in federal way. This location wanted $200 read more

Just took my little boy (one year old) to get his second haircut. He has long very thick hair and he's very shy so I was worried. We got there a little before 10 am. Thu welcomed us and did his hair. She was super sweet and patient and did a great job, exactly what we wanted and he didn't fuss or cry at all. We loved her and will definitely be back! read more

I have been a Parton of this particular HairMasters for the last four years, at least. I have always received great service and find making an appointment to be a breeze. I always request Julie as my stylist. Not only does she do a beautiful job but she's also a really good sounding board when your needing help deciding on a color or look. I find a hard time trying to verbalize exactly what I'm looking for but she always listens and comes up with a beautiful look that's often even better than I had imagined. The salon stays pretty busy so I always make sure to call and book and appointment so that I don't have to worry about squeezing in between the steady clientele. read more

great first time experience at the fairwood hair masters. my stylist was hillary. i didn't really know what i wanted going in but she asked the right questions and delivered a great haircut. would definitely recommend this hairmasters and hillary despite the other reviews. read more

Not impressed. Sign said they were opened, walked in and was told they were closed. Won't visit again. Waste of my time.

After looking for a new affordable and reliable stylist, I absolutely look forward to having Hillary cut my hair. The trip is easy, and the salon clean , with a relaxed atmosphere: easy to fit into a day. I also like Karen"s cuts and both have styled my hair over the past few years. I know my hair, the colors used and the way humidity will make it "behave". When Hillary styles, she always checks with me on her choices. I have my best looks when I give her pictures that match my natural hair texture and length and say "I trust you". And once more I loved the cut. My mother complemented the cut! read more

I have just started coming to the Hairmasters in Fairwood for hair cuts, and so far my experience has been very good. I have had Lona and Julie cut my hair. Someone before at a different salon had kind of messed it up, and Lona and Julie have been helping to blend in the part that should not have been cut short, while I wait for it to grow back. I don't have any complaints and am glad they are close by. The price is good too. read more
