Madie is warm, kind, and has the lightest, steadiest hand. My skin is really sensitive and usually freaks out after brows or waxing, which is why I basically stopped after the pandemic. But with a big event coming up, I figured I'd try. So glad I did! She cleaned up my brows perfectly and kept them full and natural, exactly how I like them. No redness, no unevenness, no over-plucked shape. Honestly my only complaint is that I don't live closer! If you have thick hair and sensitive skin (hi, fellow South Asian, Middle Eastern, Mediterranean folks), go see her now! Don't forget to bring cash and tip generously!!

When I let her know I was the same woman who just was in the salon, she hung up on me. I then called back to ask for a manager and she hung up again. She REFUSES to service Black woman and is disgustingly rude about it! This place is disgraceful and does NOT deserve to be open for business!

Although i got lucky, Glam Body is usually booked weeks out so appointments are really a must! The salon is really beautiful and clean, the staff is really friendly and kind, and the ambiance is very calming. As mentioned this was my first time sugaring so my body afterwards didn't really react well (wouldn't have known without trying it) but during the process I really enjoyed how calming and safe the esthetician was with me given it was my first time. So with all that said would recommend this place. I'd also note that there's a Yelp discount, definitely check-in to take advantage of that!

After looking at all of the YELP reviews I had to come check the place out for myself. The first time I was here, Ruby took care of me. She was great, as all of the reviews say. But since then, I haven't seen her! I must come when she is off but no worries for me because GOLDIE has been taking great care of me. I have been coming to Goldie every 2 weeks for my eyebrows and she has been nothing but professional and very sweet. I always flinch when I am getting them done and she will ask if I am ok, always concerned and wanting my experience to be a good one. She has a soft voice which is very relaxing and I like how she sometimes has her music playing because it is relaxing as well. Overall, great place. They don't call it "Awesome Threading" for nothing! Thank you Goldie, for always making my experience nice and for letting me walk out feeling like a brand new woman with killer eyebrows! (scroll for info at the end of my original review.) ------- ORIGINAL REVIEW: Yeahhhh.. this place isn't it lol. For context I'm 25F, just moved into the area. This happened a few weeks ago but it just popped into my head recently. Hole in the wall massage/spa places are so hit or miss. Honestly I accidentally booked through them for a 60min back massage thinking it was another place that I actually liked that is also in ridgewood (it was "Mosa Spa"; you can book on their website so you know exactly what you're paying for before hand.) During the massage the woman asked me multiple times if I wanted soft or heavier pressure, and each time I said soft very loud and clear, since my head was face down for the massage. Fast forward to the middle of the massage and she's standing on my back. Like actually standing. And it wasn't brief. I know this is something people do in general, like at home, but it seemed extremely unprofessional since she didn't ask first before doing it, and I had already said "soft pressure" not "please put your whole body weight on me in one place." I also know that 60min massages usually involve flipping around to have the front part (arms, legs, head) massaged about halfway through. She must have mistimed and I flipped over and then 10 minutes later her timer went off and the massage promptly ended. When I was filling out the receipt for the tip, the man at the counter pointed at the dotted line and said "Tip." (not as question. also extremely rich considering the quality of the experience.) I never write reviews because I am so lazy; I guess this is where my laziness gets me so I can't complain (too much) - but I can warn: If you have a small budget for pampering yourself, either go to another massage place like Mosa with similar prices, or bite the bullet and splurge on an actual spa/bathhouse (NYC & brooklyn have plenty.) Or get a facial at the Glowbar locations for 30min under $100. Or get your nails done! I felt super disappointed because I don't have a lot of money for this kind of stuff, and blew it on a very uncomfortable experience. Good luck lol. -------------- Edit: I didn't look at the other reviews before visiting since I thought I was going somewhere else, but after I posted THIS review, i read someone else's who said they got a SKIN INFECTION twice?? And weirdly enough they posted a second 5 star review saying they loved it and to tip the masseuse $1 per hour (so like $30-60 extra) and that their "old review" was an assumption and they shouldn't have posted it. I clicked on the account of the second reviewer and they're two different people under the name Daniel I. First review about skin infection is real, the second 5 star review is fake and from the company. That's actually crazy.
