We had a really great experience today with Meghan. I took my one year old for his first haircut. I chose this place because they work with babies and kids all day, every day. I was really pleased when I arrived and found that each stylist works in their own room outfitted with a TV (with the perfect kids' Netflix channels), a nice chair and, if necessary, a Bumbo seat. Meghan took a before picture and offered that if I wanted to hold him while she cut, I could. I chose to have him in the seat while I fed him the Cheerios I brought with me. While my little guy unfortunately cried all the way through the cut, Meghan handled it like the pro she is. At the end, tears were dried, after-pictures were taken, and they gave me a really cute baby's first haircut certificate with a clip of his hair. Most importantly, his hair looks perfect! We will definitely be back.

Best place to bring your children for haircuts! We've been coming here since our oldest daughter (now 6) was 1 and we've never left disappointed! Beautiful and fun place for children with lots of space, beautiful rooms, and amazing play room! We usually arrive 10-15 minutes before so kiddos can't play, watch the train go by, and enjoy all the toys! that part that my children love the most is the ballon and popcorn at the end of the appointment and great haircut!

This is the third time we have taken our three year old, Rocco here. The place is super kid friendly with a ton of toys to keep them busy in the waiting area. They have tv's for your little ones to watch while they are in the chair to keep them occupied. They are all very patient and friendly with the kids and also do a great job cutting hair. The only drawback I will say is it is a tad pricey. It's $15 for a kid haircut but can understand why they charge that much. I'm a fan and will keep coming back. When they are finished with their haircut they get free popcorn and a balloon. My little guy loves it here.

DO NOT GO TO THIS BARBER SHOP! WARNING!…read more Just recently moved to Rochester, NY as I am a small business owner expanding to the area. With that said, I'm all for small business's and supporting them! This is one business that I CANNOT. Looking for a local barbershop I came across Altered Image, I called before coming in an hour in advance, was told that they had barbers available anytime no appointment was necessary. They took my brother, paid a ridiculous $30+$10 (TIP) for his shape-up, but again, I support it They, then told me at 10:30AM they could get me in the chair by 11:30AM. Already I'm thinking, an hour wait and there are FOUR barbers sitting down texting and chatting not working at all? FINE. I waited the hour plus more. 11:50AM someone ELSE comes in and gets sat in front of me. At this point i said, I've been here for almost two hours now with an appt for 11:30 and people are still walking in and sitting in front of me? They just allow you to wait in their lobby and ignore you until you don't have a choice but to get up and to somewhere else! GO TO ANY OTHER BARBERSHOP! They will get you in right away and treat you GREAT! This barbershop will have you wait HOURS, IGNORE YOU, All while they sit on their phones to make sure their wives aren't cheating on them back at their studio apartments. Pathetic. Sad story for a small business. Side note. If this barbershop is the ONLY option that you have, do not get sat in the females chair, she will butcher your hair for practice.

I've always been satisfied, and, am the first to admit I can be fussy; I mean, who really isn't when it comes to looking nice?! I've always felt welcomed & heard. Tammy is as amazing & surely the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. I would rave to everyone & anyone who I spoke w/ about how great they are. Fast forward & my latest experience really has me bummed out. I couldn't get in b/c getting an appt. is very difficult w/ the schedule lately & especially if you prefer your normal stylist. I felt comfortable enough to try someone new & trusted that I would be just as pleased. No offense b/c this person is super kind/nice & nothing personal, but, I surely wish that the professionals would have walked me through a bit more w/ how my grays would react adversely to the bleach highlights. My hair is soo super dry now & my nice & normally long layers are super choppy & unruly & are driving me nuts. I loved that Tessa was so conservative w/ her charging me & she's always charged me the very same amount. It's been nice for sure. I was charged much more (I respect the fact that most likely due to the dumb highlights I thought I would be pleased w/), but, still NOT happy that I spent so much to now be so unhappy & stuck w/ a dried head of choppy layers that aren't falling smooth & as sweet as they used to. Again, yes, fussy, but, when we go to a salon & especially one we've gone to many, many times b4 I would surely hope to be happy enough w/ the hairstyle/services at least until the next time. Not so. I'm bummed.:((((( ***Update*** Not quite sure how to update, but had to b/c let me tell you Tammy the owner is the bomb. She's amazing & quickly got back to me. She has provided me some products to help & did so ever so quickly. I've revised my review b/c she has reached out to me w/ kindness & I appreciate that.

But as someone who knows how hard it is to find the perfect salon, I knew it was important to let the community know about a little salon in Fairport. I have had the worst luck with salons in the past. I've never stayed in one place for longer than five years as an adult. The closest I got to that was the salon I went to in middle school and high school, where my mom and sister went as well. But that ended ten days before my high school graduation, where my request to have my hair "just dusting my shoulders" resulted in a chin length blunt bob that poofed out when dry, making me look like a mushroom wearing a graduation cap. As I was stylistically challenged (and still am, to a good extent), you can imagine how well this worked out for me. I bounced around from one fancy salon to the next in college, coming home on breaks for haircuts and not having any idea how to maintain my new look. I started going to Cuts International a solid two years before I moved back to Rochester, and I'm proud to say that it's my longest salon relationship ever. Ever since I started seeing Amelia for my hair needs, I have walked away happy and confident that I can replicate what was done to me during the styling process. Amelia is very intuitive and knows what will work for me and what won't. Last year I decided I wanted highlights to camouflage the increasing number of gray hairs and she helped me pick out a color that would look good against my dark hair and would mask the grays as best we could. Instead of the traditional foil method, she used a plastic hat to pull small strands through to ensure a natural look. While this was going on, I looked just like Gollum, if Gollum were waiting to rinse out his new highlights. Everyone at the salon is friendly and enthusiastic about their clients and what they can do. Whenever I have an appointment, it's like walking into a family reunion or happy hour at Cheers. I've never once felt like a transaction here, and I have definitely felt that way at other salons. Cuts International is not only a family salon, but one that really takes the idea of family to heart. Finally, where else can you get a fancy salon quality cut and style for $26? I used to pay twice as much for other salons in the past and I'm never going to go back. You can try to entice me with fancy furniture and decor and the privilege of saying I go to your salon, but it won't work. I'm sticking with Cuts International, where I know I can maintain my new look with my meager styling skills.
