New location, same great service and cut! Travis recently relocated and upgraded in a big way! He is now located in the complex that holds Mellow Mushroom and sits at the corner of Powers Ferry and Windy Hill Road. The shop, New Image sits in the corridor and is perfectly situated in the complex allowing easy access from either side. The shop itself is perfection. You can tell it is a new spot and it is equipped with everything Travis needs to make you look way better than you did upon arrival! The décor and stations are sleek, clean and functional. Each station is outfitted with overhead lighting, which makes that cut pop when its all done! In addition to the stations, there are a few TV's so it doesn't matter which way you turned in the chair, you are going t be able to catch the game! Also, the other areas including the restroom and hair wash stations are fully loaded and nicely done as well! In addition to the upgrade to the shop itself, parking got way better too! Given the size of the complex, you should never have issues finding a spot now! Overall, I am super pumped and happy for my boy Travis on this move! You will certainly continue seeing me every few weeks! Oh and with a new location comes new services...get that VIP treatment with that hot towel and face massage! You can thank me later! read more

Appointment only via online or by phone. As previous reviews have mentioned; credit card info is necessary to book online. I made my appointment via phone and paid for the haircut in store​. Travis has a portable credit card reader + tablet for checkout (select tip on screen: 15%, 20%, 25%, or custom). Before the haircut, Travis asked what I wanted. That's a plus! Always let your barber know what you want even if they forget to ask; they can't read your mind. I came in to get my sides cleaned up and trim up top. He took his time and did a good job. I had my go-to barbershop having lived in Atlanta for 2 years prior, however Travis was closer to the place I've been staying at for the holidays. Booking online was very easy and his scheduling was clear. You enter in your credit card info to book the appointment (be mindful of the cancellation policy), but I actually found this be convenient as there's no in-person transaction and it's automatically charged after the service. Tip was also auto-included, which happened to be the amount I would've tipped anyway (so, not sure how to go about modifying it). There were tiers of service that ranged from a simple cut, to simple cut + shave or beard trim. Travis basically rents out a chair in a barbershop and runs his own operation within that chair space. He was very personable, friendly, and gave me a good cut. Others have reviewed that he tends to cut with you facing away from the mirror - yes this is true but he showed his progress with a handheld mirror multiple times which made me comfortable and trusting of his skill. First time client with Travis on October 7, 2020. Found his advertisement in the local Smyrna/Vinings homeowners magazine. You will meed to make a reservation through his website or the Booksy app, (which was easy and straightforward). I have tried other barbers in the area but kept getting inconsistent results for more money than I care to spend on a simple, grown-up haircut once a month. I found Travis to be professional, attentive, and a very good conversationalist (but not to the degree where he is ignoring his craft at any moment). There's a simple temperature check at the front door. Enter with a mask on and walk to the back of the facility. This is not one of those barber shops with drinks, leather couches, and a pool table, but why pay extra for that stuff? Everyone was friendly and courteous. Bottom line ... this is the first haircut I have had in a long, long time where I didn't have to get out my own clippers or trimmer to fix something when I got home. I showed Travis some pictures of my own hair from the last time I got a decent cut (six months ago in a different state) and he replicated it with precision. It wasn't a rush job like some of these other chop-shops around here. He took a full 30 minutes and I appreciated that quite a lot. Well worth the $30 and I will be back next month. I asked for a men's professional crew cut. I showered only to find that my cut was uneven in parts, several long hairs to boot. I will not be coming back here. Pros - Travis is very nice. He was personable. We had good conversation and I enjoyed this. Cons - Poor haircut, as described above - Didn't have my chair directed towards the mirror, which I can confidently say is the first and only time this has ever happened in a barber shop or salon. You always want the customer to see the work in progress, no? - When he was boosting me up in the chair it was so rickety, I thought my spine was going to snap in two. read more
