She had great suggestions for layering and thinning out my hair, which is thick and heavy, and was a pleasure to talk to while she worked. The salon itself was clean. Prices are very reasonable ($26 for a shampoo, cut, and blow dry). The only thing preventing a 5 star review is that the way the chairs are arranged it could be a bit difficult to maneuver for someone who is less mobile and some music might help the atmosphere a bit. But, I'll definitely be back when I'm in the area and in need of a cut.

When I got to the seat the guy who was doing my hair didn't even give me his name or anything so I don't even know who did my hair. I asked to trim my STRAIGHT bangs and some how ended up with the right side being significantly longer than the left side. Then when I got my hair blowdried and brushed at the end somehow my hair is still gnarled in the back when I have straight thin hair and it takes me 2 min to brush my hair everyday. Probably could've done better myself at home

Arrived and was welcomed and told I would be taken care of soon, was offered a drink and wasn't long before I was at a chair getting a wash. The hairdressers was super friendly and explained what she was doing as she cut, also said she would stop mid-cut and see if I liked it or wanted more taken off. The end result was great! My head felt light and comfortable (I had long hair) and I loved my trim and new layers. The cost? $28 (plus tip), asked about color and she said the cost would be $60, not bad, will have to return when I have more time.

Meh. I moved to this area from Boston recently and would like to find a local place to get a…read morehaircut. (I still drive to Boston to get my hair colored, as I will not trust a new colorist easily, especially one in a small town.) I made an appointment here for a trim, walked in at my time and was not greeted by anyone for about 3 minutes. There were hairstylists in view and no one at the front desk. Finally a woman came over, confirmed my appointment and said my stylist would be with me in a few minutes. 5 minutes later I left, went to my car to get something to read and came back. I waited another 5 to 7 minutes. In the meantime, I am judging the salon based on the brand of products they have displayed; this typically speaks to level of training the stylists have, and of course they are going to recommend this products. They have Paul mitchell, which you can also buy at Procuts. Not really impressed, but I'm just here for a trim. The salon area looks clean, the hairdressers appear to have decent hair styles. However, the clientele can be heard cussing and gabbing loudly from the waiting area, which gave it more of a bar/nightlife vibe. One woman's husband is even seated in the salon area, participating in the boisterous conversation. I get up and approach one of the hair dressers closest to me, asking if they know if (whatever the stylists name was, I don't remember) was around? She is at the adjacent chair, within view of the waiting area- which means she knew I was waiting and yet couldn't take 30 seconds to come and say hey I'm sorry, I'm running late. She does a decent job at a trim, but I really didn't appreciate having to wait so long while not being acknowledged by her. If I am the paying client, and a new client, I would think you would really step it up with the customer service- at least acknowledge my presence. Save your money and go elsewhere- I seriously have had a comparable haircut with better customer service at Supercuts. I am still searching for a local place to get my hair trimmed... I've been in this area for 2 years. I would rather pay more money to be treated warmly, as if I matter and I'm not a disposable commodity like I felt I was treated here. Disappointed.

She wasn't patronizing as some stylists can be but kind and considerate. I have been struggling with my hair for years and looking for decent style and color that is flattering. Arriving home after my visit, my husband said I looked younger with the style and color. It's wonderful to leave a salon happy with the results. Thank you, Danielle and the Strand.

The sides were too long, the proportions were wrong, and the style did not match the images at all. For sixty dollars, I expected a basic men's cut to be done correctly. He felt uncomfortable speaking up in the moment, so he paid and left, but he was very unhappy with the result. I do not care about a refund. I want accountability. The salon needs to know what happened so they can prevent this from happening to other clients. I will be calling the manager and plan to come in person the next time I am in Providence to explain what went wrong. Clients deserve to feel heard, and the final cut should match what they requested. The one good thing is that my son learned an important lesson. It is completely acceptable to speak up if the service is not what you asked for. If you are unhappy with a haircut, ask for a manager or request a stylist with more experience in men's cuts.
