Arrived and was welcomed and told I would be taken care of soon, was offered a drink and wasn't long before I was at a chair getting a wash. The hairdressers was super friendly and explained what she was doing as she cut, also said she would stop mid-cut and see if I liked it or wanted more taken off. The end result was great! My head felt light and comfortable (I had long hair) and I loved my trim and new layers. The cost? $28 (plus tip), asked about color and she said the cost would be $60, not bad, will have to return when I have more time.

Today I was 5 minutes late for an appointment she rescheduled twice, and she took another client ahead of me. I was a regularly booked client. If she didn't want to do my hair anymore then she should have been a professional. I'm very unhappy that I have been left in the lurch. She argues with her clients and makes unnecessary comments about them after they leave to the other stylists. It's terrible. And so unkind. Shimmer is ALWAYS clean and ready to accommodate all of the clients that are in the salon. Second, the ambiance in the business - I have to say, I love the comfortable yet stylish decor in Shimmer. Brand new chairs (super comfortable for the longer appointments) - and new chairs at the washing and dryer stations. I love to see places that maintain their furniture and decor; no one wasn't to sit in old and dirty salons. I have to say, the best part about the place is Nichole! She has always made sure that I was in the best hands! I began having her do my hair from when she worked at another salon. I had to follow her to her own salon! Nichole has time and time again worked with my schedule; which can be difficult. She's made sure that I can get all of the services that I need and get on my merry way- lickity-split! The quality of care that you'll receive here is A+ - I've religiously gone to Shimmer for hair cuts, styling, products, and the occasional special service or treatment. I've never personally gotten a color or dye job, however - I've referred all of my friends and they have also religiously gone back! You name it - they can do it. I had one of the best hair salon experiences ever today…read more I stopped in as they accept walk ins, and I happened to be in the area. I was taken right away, which was awesome. I was impressed when I learned the same people have been working there for ages. Their professionalism was fantastic as well. The two ladies there worked as a team. One of them started washing my hair as she had a little time before her next appointment came in, her colleague was finishing up with another client. She took over as soon as she finished seamlessly. They easily could have had me wait, so I truly appreciated that. When the phone rang, they would check with each other to see who was best positioned to answer it and did so promptly. You don't see that every day! I really appreciate that they didn't try to sell me hair products, or attempt to upsell me on a more expensive service. Most importantly, they did a great job on my hair! They completely understood what I wanted, and when it was over, I walked out a happy woman. I felt the price was reasonable too. $40 for a wash, cut and blow dry is great, especially since I have long hair, and I get charged extra for that in a lot of places. Nikki washed and cut my (extremely long) hair, saved the length while making it healthy, and kept me smiling and chill the whole time. I had a great experience, got a wonderful haircut, and feel so much better about going back in a few months. Inarguably the best experience I've had getting a haircut in my whole life! Definitely going to be coming back here.
