I cannot say enough great things about Rebecca Smith, the owner and her friendly professional staff. She is so beautiful inside and out, as you will also see for yourself. She is well experienced, up to date in color, hair cuts and style. She is very personable, professional & funny too! Her goal is to make you happy and to keep you as a lifelong client...in which I am now just that! My first visit to Rebecca was in December, 2019. She cut my hair in a very cute, easy to manage style that she recommended, which she cut far above better than my prior hairdresser in Washington DC had ever done. I recently went back to Rebecca, June 2020 for highlights after her salon had been closed due to the COVID-19 lock down. I was greeted at locked door, by her friendly receptionist, Jenna. I had my temperature taken, given a mask and then seated at Rebecca's station chair that was sanitized before me sitting down. She first took her time discussing my hair color, my wants, likes and the color shades she professionally recommended for me and she did so as if I were her only appointment or client. She did just what I wanted and I was very pleased. She brought back my natural blonde hair color, just as I wanted. After I left I was back & forth on maybe wanting a few more highlights added. So I called a couple of days later to make an appointment to have more added. She was very happy to do so. She WOULD NOT let me pay her for having them added. In my first review I raved about this salon because of the quality of our cuts and then we had a not so good experience but knowing the owner cares and guarantees to prevent this from happening to anyone else and apologized and gave us our money back and offered to fix it means that she does truly care about her clients. I visited this salon for hair color and an eyebrow wax. My appointment lasted over four hours, and before leaving I was happy enough with my hair to thank my stylist and leave a generous tip of over 20%. The next morning, when I looked in the mirror, I realized my eyebrows had been waxed far too thin, and a significant portion of my right eyebrow had been removed. I contacted my stylist, who later acknowledged that she had taken too much off and offered a $15 refund for the eyebrow wax. Unfortunately, the mistake ended up costing me much more than that. I had a wedding that weekend and had to purchase eyebrow growth serum, eyebrow makeup products, and ultimately pay for microblading in an attempt to correct the problem. I then contacted the salon owner, hoping the salon would stand behind the service provided there. I was told that the stylist was an independent contractor and that I would have to resolve the matter directly with her. After my bank dispute was denied, I reached out one final time, explained the additional expenses I had incurred, offered to provide receipts, and requested a refund for the original service. Instead of working toward a resolution, I was accused of trying to extort the stylist. I was also told that if I shared my experience publicly, she would post a video of me leaving the salon happy and tipping well. For me, that video simply reflects what actually happened--I didn't discover the eyebrow issue until the following morning. I'm sharing this because I believe customer service is measured not by whether mistakes happen, but by how they're handled afterward. In my experience, there was no meaningful effort to make things right. Everyone can decide for themselves where they choose to spend their money. I simply wanted others to know about my experience.
