I was running late as I was coming from quite a distance and the traffic was brutal. Nevertheless, I was greeted in the most lovely manner. The salon was quite busy and I felt very welcomed. Everyone I met at the salon had the biggest smile.Ezra the manager, who put extra change in the meter by my car so I wouldn't receive a ticket, Aracelli who washed my hair and of course, Bulent who styled my hair. Bulent certainly had his own styling technique. It took him every bit of an hour to shape and style my hair. He truly is a master. My hair looks fantastic, exactly as I had hoped and the length is exactly what I wanted. Not too short but precise. My overall experience was well beyond. I felt well taken care of and I didn't feel rushed. I'm a very loyal customer and so I will head right back to Vasken when I need another service. That's why I am so happy to give this review.

I do want to make something clear that my review, is solely based (for now) on my quickie ins and outs to purchase my Aveda products-and not, when I style my hair there. Without considering anything else, Evangelista Hair Salon is cute and posh. They are a retailer, carrying a great amount of what you'd see at an Aveda store or salon. Obviously, they see the need to target women with different hair types or they would not carry Aveda's products. Although I've yet to style my hair at Evangelista Hair Salon, I will admit that, while I'm making my quickie Be Curly hair product pick ups, stylists, all seem as they are going the extra mile to satisfy their customers hairstyling needs. In addition, they are extremely courteous and customer attention, is always, at its highest.

I had tried many salons in the area…read more I stumbled upon James at this Salon I arranged to come in and meet with him. He was so cordial and professional on the phone. I decided to return today to Villa Di Roma after many years. The original owner ,an Elvis enthusiast , is not there anymore but still owns it. The owner being an Elvis impersonator ,really drew me to the salon over the years. James however , is a terrific stylist, cutter and professional hair professional. There are two other girls in the Salon that do a terrific job as well as that I could clearly see from the haircut styles / cuts that were done when I was there . I had my hair styled and trimmed and it looks beautiful. I will return in a few weeks for color. Note: I had some split ends and James noticed this immediately and he recommended that I have them cut off. I thought that I was allergic to a hair dying product that another salon told me that I was allergic to. My hair had turned orange on top and I got little pimples on my scalp. I explained to James that I may be allergic to a Hair dying product used at a salon I visited a few weeks ago. James immediately tested me and I found out I am not allergic to the hair dye(s) used in their salon. I will return to the salon in a few weeks and I will decide on the color . I will of course consult with James first as to his thoughts on what the best color would be for my skin tone and overall looks. He advised me NOT to do highlights since I have very thin and brittle hair, He advised me that once the highlights grow out, , a gray tone will appear on my roots and near my scalp. He advised me that I will then frequently need a touchup of the roots, which is very costly and is not good for the hair. he advised me instead to do a base color that would fit my skin tone and looks. James has owned and worked in many salons in the Westchester County area and in the Queens area as well. He is highly professional experienced and very pleasant. I give this Salon a Five star "Plus " rating and review., "When you have tried all the rest now try the best " The Salon caters to all men, women, and children of all ages. Signed , a very happy customer.

The owners have zero sense of professionalism. Frankly, it's a miracle they're still in business. We booked multiple hair appointments months in advance for a wedding, with several confirmations leading up to the big day. And yet, on the morning of the appointments, the salon was closed. No warning, no notice. When we called, we discovered the reason: the manager simply forgot our appointments and never showed up--appointments they knew were for a wedding! I have never witnessed such a blatant display of incompetence from any so-called professional. Do yourself a favor: NEVER come here. Avoid at all costs. Due to a miracle we were able to book appointments somewhere else last minute. You live and you learn. I've learned Janeth's Salon is run by someone who would rather tarnish the reputation of their business then stand by their work and craft at the most basic of levels.
