I left extremely upset, my hairstylist kept complaining how thick my hair was the whole time I was there. Not only that but she kept pointing out that I had gray hairs, which I'm very self conscious about. Then she showed me how much she was going to cut off on my hair which was only supposed to be a trim. When she showed me I was absolutely devastated that most of hair was gone, she cut off way more. I had an appt with Amanda for a balayage. I was excited about this because this place is about 15 minutes from my house and I've been on the hunt for a colorist who knows what's up! It's harder than it sounds, people! Amanda was cool, she's friendly and attentive. She listened good and gave me input on what I want and what we can achieve. She went to work pretty quick - no wasting time comparing swatches of base colors or blonds. She just gathered the info and set the wheels into motion, it was very refreshing. She worked to place color on my roots and strands and even that process seemed quick. I sat under a dryer for not very long and after a quick tone, I was ready for drying/styling! I was so happy with the color. It's exactly what I wanted. The blond pieces are very natural looking, the placement is seamless, and the base was a perfect match to my natural and compliments my skin tone. She covered all my hairline grays and gave me just enough oooomph! She dried my hair into perfect segments and then went through it with a curling wand. It turned out perfect. My first time at Hair Performers! Amanda Renee did my hair. I completely loved my hair during my second visit and here's why... My first visit, right before Christmas I met Amanda and really thought I wanted highlights because I knew balayage would take 8+hours. (From my previous experience.) So when I told Amanda I wanted highlights she basically said, "Gurl. That's not what's hot right now." And of course, she was right. I showed Amanda a recent picture of the balayge work she posted on FB, and told her I wanted the exact balayage. However, I did not want it to take all day. She said this was a high balayage, meaning my color would start close to my scalp. Okay no problem. Let's do it! Side note: At that time, my bangs had grown out and I wanted them to have balayage. Amanda asked me how I parted my hair and then she began to work. After color, blow dry, and style my hair was kinda cute. It did not look like the photo I showed her but I thought my hair would grow on me. Well, I was wrong. Amanda having listened to my needs, delivered quickly. After a couple days, I noticed some brassy areas and wanted it corrected. When I came back, she added more color to my crown and BAM -- my hair was exactly like her previous client. I am newer to the area and very specific about who I let do my hair. I moved from the city to out here and wanted to find something closer to me. Let's just say this place was great! I had scheduled my appointment same day for 6pm for a cut and balayage and they were able to get me in. When I arrived I was greeted instantly and only waited about less than five minutes before I was in the chair. My hairstylist was great and took her time to know what I wanted. My only real complaint was my pink hair only lasted me ONE DAY! I was utterly upset that it completely washed out all of the color and basically I only had it pink for one day. I was completely disappointed in this. I wanted to go back to get this fixed but thought it'd be the same thing over again and I'd waste my money coloring it for nothing. I will come back here for sure but as for hair coloring (which this was my first time doing something like this) I think I'll have to go somewhere else.. read more

Once inside she proceeded to tell me my appointment was canceled. Totally understandable when someone is sick to call off. A call would've been appreciated before I left for my appointment. Silvia cut my hair. I wanted to love this place since I just move in town and is near my house. She was so rough on my scalp it felt okay as she washed my hair but it's been 30 min and my scalp now burns from deep penetration of her nails. I cut off 8 in off my hair and she cut one side shorter than the other and I couldn't have her fix it as it mean to cut off more and it was already above shoulder length. The plan was to cut to shoulder length and to cut a bit below as my hair is curly and would get shorter. I didn't make a big deal bc i now my hair will grow again. I went here to get my hair done for a 1920s charity event. I've gotten my haircut here a few times, and have taken my son for his hair. Everyone here is very nice and friendly, the atmosphere is very classy. The facility seem very clean and everybody that I've ever had work on my hair and my sons hair has been super nice. Before I begin, please know I never even made it to the part where I actually get my hair done, so this review is primarily based upon customer service. I had never been to this salon before, and only stepped foot in the door because I had a 50% off coupon on the back of a Jewel receipt and thought I'd give it a shot. (I've been going to the same amazing stylist for the last five years. I think this terrible experience was the universe's way of telling me not to cheat on my stylist.) I walked in a told the woman behind the desk that I needed a haircut and that I had the Jewel coupon. She informed me that the coupon was for a junior stylist, and that there weren't any there at the moment, but that she would check to see if I could still use the coupon with a master stylist. Okay, cool. I had a seat in the waiting area and she proceeded to ask three different stylists (right in front of me) if they were "willing to do a 50% haircut." They all seemed annoyed that she had even asked, and made excuses for why they could not. It was if they were all trying to push the cut onto another stylist, which made me feel very uncomfortable and not at all valued. Finally, one stylist said, "Fine, I'll take it." Oh, how kind of you. Again, I felt uncomfortable and as if she was doing me a favor (not how a customer should ever feel), but I was willing to overlook it and just get the cut. The stylist (who did not introduce herself to me, so I do not know her name - very professional) escorted me straight to the shampoo bowl and directed me to "lean back." Confused, I said, "You're not going to give me a consultation before you wash my hair?" She responded with, "I can if you want." I told her that I had changed my mind about the haircut, to which she responded, "Okay!" and began walking away from me. I am a stylist myself, and I am also acclimated to proper service when I go to a salon - the fact that she was just going to wash my hair without really even looking at it, without finding out what I wanted, and without giving me even a semblance of a consultation blows my mind. And the customer service in general speaks for itself - I'm sure I do not need to further elaborate on that. The worst part about this is that this salon is ADVERTISING on the BACK OF JEWEL RECEIPTS, presumably to BRING CUSTOMERS IN THE DOOR. And look at that, it worked. You got me in with your coupon. But then you blew it. I do not ask for exceptional customer service (although I do think I am deserving of it), I just ask for basic respect and standard service. But at Hair Performers, I suppose that is asking too much. read more

I was so disapppointed and upset, after spending 6 1/2 hrs here and having my highlights done twice because they didn't turn out right the first time, the second time it turned out even worse and my hair turned green, then they had me pay and expected me to come back to try a third time? Are u kidding, did they really think I would let them touch my hair again? Talked to manager Laura about a refund , she said she had to talk to owner and call me back... My experience was extremely disappointing!! I showed a picture of how I wanted my bangs cut, simple right? NOPE!!! Jill gave me a bowl cut - straight across like Moe from the 3 stooges. I used to love going here and have for over 40 years but the last several experiences I've had here-I'm done. I had a regular, Alison, and absolutely loved how she did my hair but several times I tried to get an appointment nothing is available. I finally got one and a very dear friend of mine passed away and I needed to be at his funeral by 10-I asked if she could please come in a few minutes early so that I could keep the appointment and make the funeral and there wasn't even a. Attempt to accommodate me. Today I went and asked for a haircut and was told all stylists were busy with appointments and it would be a 20 minute wait, okay I'll wait. Then I was told it would be 30 minutes and then the appointment showed up and it became a 45 minute wait. Why did I have to wait for that particular stylist-I didn't ask for anyone by name and I gave up on Alison. If you want people to make appointments then change your approach if Walk Ins Welcome because they are not! Everyone has to make appointments to secure their time slot. I don't understand if there is 15 minutes for someone to stand around and hover over the front desk that they can't take a haircut. I have made appointments and actually have had to wait for my stylist to be done with the person before me. Sorry to go after so many years, but I just might have found a better stylist in the same neighborhood and more reasonable. read more

So here I am again writing a negative review about this place . This time it was a family member who went here to get a hair cut and an ombré color . I warned her not to go here but she decided to take her chances since in was close to her house. She went in with a picture showing them what she wanted and the stylist (Neil) said that he couldn't get the bottom as light as she wanted but that he could get close, well it was no where near close ! When he was done the top looked like the same color she went in with and the bottom was no where near a pale blonde ! He charged her $175.00 for a shitty job! When we called the salon and spoke with Him and the manager (Laurie) they both refused to give a refund so that we could go else where to fix it , they wouldn't even refund some of the money back. They suggested she go back so they could redo it . Who in their right mind would go back to a salon where they had a bad experience? This salon does not care about their clients satisfaction at all! This is the worse place to go for a hair cut. They butchered me and four months later it still brutal. My dog is scared to look at me. A beautician at another salon tried to fix it and stated it would be better to shave my head. I am not joking.
