I asked the person to give me an estimate on cost ect for cut color - she said that usually she does a free consult - that was it. I get there and it's taking forever bro get my hair cut like forever she telling me about everything and I'm like ok I know I have curly hair my whole life -- I asked her opinion on something but it was not like an easy conversation- this is what she does and she does recommend olaplex 3 only thing to help my hair - at this point I'm like no I used olaplex twice It made my hair soft and got rid of my curls ! She's like well it's ONLY A $19 charge ( she's doesn't get it at all- like I said no didn't work for me) wtf ?? and as she's talking about this I'm telling her my budget and she's telling me that it's a $99 haircut for curly hair the first time and I'm like OK no one told me that and she's like it's on my website well her website separate from the locations website which makes it really confusing so if you're going to see Julia for the first time and you're doing a hair consultation for curly hair be aware that the prices on her website are very different from what the lady quoted me on the phone so basically I paid $157 for four small highlights that didn't turn out the way I wanted a tiny trim and some color coverage on my roots it took 3 plus hours - and lots lots of talking and not listening to my needs or concerns - umm not saying Julia didn't do her best in just saying beaware of 99! Just for deva cut and consult - and of course express your budget ahead of time and exactly what you want - if you don't get it then? The worst part was like when she cut it I wanted the longer layer trimmed a bit more she said she do it's later and then she argued w me about it not being dry enough to cut it - once I was done ! Haha this was awful - I won't go back not my type of stylist but maybe she will work for you??

Lauren has a natural eye for styling, cuts, and color and is always willing to add her professional insight and advice before working on your hair. I moved to NYC 4 1/2 years ago, and I still come home to my parent's house and get my hair cut here. Lori is the BEST hair stylist I've ever had. No matter what I want done - new cut, trim, color, eyebrow wax, mani/pedi - she does it all and it always comes out WONDERFULLY. I've gotten my hair cut at various upscale NYC salons, sometimes paying up to $125 for a hair cut and nothing comes close to the way Lori cuts. She knows the basics so it always results in a good style. She listens, knows my hair and how I like it and delivers every time. Her pedicures are fantastic as well. A little pricier than what I'm used to in NYC ($30 here w/ french) but it's totally worth it - my feet are the smoothest and toes look perfect for a good two weeks. I can't say enough good about this place - although it could really use a serious facelift. The decor looks like it's straight out of the 70's. The quality service makes up for it, but it would be nice to see a little update. Another great thing is that you can book an appointment (especially if you have to have a few lengthy services) but you can also walk in and they're very accommodating. Haircuts run about $25 for women, pedicures are $25, eyebrows are $8, manicures are $10. An all-around color is around $30 (I think) and of course highlights vary. They also have tanning too, at a pretty cheap price ($30/month, I believe). Credit cards accepted which is always good too! All in all, a good salon for a great cut that never fails. Ask for Lori, she really is the best!
