1st time at hair docs was a HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE i went to fet my hair done at a different location then usual because of my hair salon artist moving away... they used no heat protection on my hair and also did not give me what i asked for !! also, one of the girls said that my hair artist did the wrong thing while doing my hair!! this experience was horrible if your looking for a new hair place this is not your place. read more

What an awful experience. I normal don't write reviews and it's taken me a bit to do it but I have to because I'm just so aggravated still with my hair. I went in for a consultation I wanted to have my dark hair lightened I knew it was going to be a process so I asked the stylist what was best. She decided to do a head full of highlights. I also told her I wanted my hair cut I showed her a picture at that point she said she was able to do it GREEAT! She quoted me a price of $115 So I proceeded to make my appointment. On the day of the appointment The stylist arrived 30 minutes late in which I got no apology for. If I'm late I get dinged. Second it took her forever to get the highlights in. Third she ended up putting like two different toners than a color over my hair because why because the highlights looked horrible they were very uneven I felt as if an amateur did it. When she was done highlighting coloring my hair she proceeded to cut my hair and all of a sudden claims she wasn't able to cut my hair the way that I wanted to for whatever excuse it was she gave me. She cut it but I hated it. I was very unhappy with not only the color but with the cut. My hair felt so dry and so grooms after! She did nothing to protect the integrity of my hair like using olaplex. Here we are in June and my hair is still a hot knotty mess I sat there for over 5 hours and all I got out of that visit was a higher price then what she Quoted me no warning nothing! and a rats nest whenever I wash it! I am still fuming over how my hair was butchered by one of your women. I have come to you for nearly 2 years now and have always gotten exactly what I've asked for. Friday, I asked to have two inches cut off the bottom by using her fingers show her what 2 inches looks like. I went in with six inches of hair and she cut ALL of that off. If she asked her hairdresser to cut off 2 inches and got what I got, she would be fuming too and would refuse to pay. No apology would bring her hair back either. If you want a great haircut and color for a good price come here...as long as you don't mind the stylists gossiping about you out loud as you have one foot out the door. It's a constant thing happening. So bad for customer service. Been coming here since day one and finally had to leave after too many times of not having good customer service. My own stylist was fine during the cuts, it's the before and after. If they are running late, they won't say anything or apologize. The word sorry is never spoken. One of the owners messed up my appointment and she was telling me in front of the busy waiting room that I was wrong. That lady needs some serious customer service skills to keep her business going!! This review was not easy for me to write. I've given them a lot of business and I want the local businesses to do well. I really do. I like how my stylist does my hair. But she did not stick up for me at all while the owner was rude. And after I walked out, she should have called and apologized. I can't submit myself to that environment anymore. Been a customer for YEARS. Even with the rude, poor customer service, poor quality hair cutting of Marion. She's the first chair. All the other ladies there will give you a great hair cut with friendly customer service!! Marion is miserable & she projects that into everything she does. She always seems to be bothered by customers, doesn't listen to them, not attentive if you are not her customer ie: simple questions, making appointments on the phone! She is rude & short to elderly. I absolutely love Hair Docs. The owner, Olga, has been cutting my hair since I was 8. She cuts men's, women's, and children's hair, and does a great job with them all. The biggest thing I love about this place is the price. It is almost impossible to find someone who does a great cut at $22 (including a blow dry). I came here most recently to have her fix a hair cut I got when I was living in Washington state this past year. She did a phenomenal job. She also took out a lot of the thickness, which now has made it impossible for my hair to get knotted when I blow dry it (yippee!). I can't recommend this place enough. I went there for years and had great results. The last cut was so out of proportion I went to super cuts and got a much better style. The stylists talk to each other across the room constantly, ordering lunch or gossiping. They should pay more attention to the client. And every season the place is overly decorated like its a 5 year olds birthday party. Very unprofessional. read more

I've been going to Hair Docs for years. Most of all the stylists have worked on me and they're all great. I lived in Milwaukee for a few years and actually traveled back to IL just for touch ups and hair cuts at Hair Docs. I've tried other hair salons in the past based on location but haven't found anything comparable. Great service and very affordable. As far as the comments regarding appointments running late...keep in mind sometimes it's the clients showing up late that make the stylists run behind. read more

Used to love this place until last week. I walked out with orange hair that felt like straw and a horrible chemical burn from the bleach used to make my hair orange. Had to pay to get my hair done twice in 3 days. Once here and then somewhere else to get it fixed. read more
