I have avoided high-end salons for quite some time because of the cost. My hair is baby fine and I've always had an issue with having to pay upwards of $250 to get my hair colored professionally. So, recently I opted to do an at home color myself and was incredibly unhappy with it so I called on Alia Rose to the rescue! I have heard of this salon over the years as I have a couple friends that go here. This is probably one of the prettiest and most well appointed salons I have ever been to. The staff, and I mean the entire staff from the front desk to the colorist and the shampoo girl, were beyond sweet. I had a great experience with Kailey, my colorist. She heard my plight and did an epic job at fixing my mess. I was in the chair for about three hours. A great experience here - I'm very happy with my hair color and I feel like I made a friend. FYI, this place seems to also be popular with young men as much of the clientele on the afternoon I was there were teenage boys and young men. They all seemed happy when the left. It was my first time at Alia, and the energy was electric as I walked in. The host greeted me professionally (even though they were obviously having a computer meltdown) and introduced me to Isabela, my stylist. My hair is thick, wavy, curly, and has colics'. I explained what I didn't want, and Isabella worked with me to determine what I needed. As Isabella styled my hair, she described her technique. Kudos, girl. It was nice to see the stylist stations uncluttered with supplies. The establishment was impeccably clean and organized. So, I called ahead and made a same-day appointment. I lost track of time, was 30 minutes late, and still received professional service. My only complaint was the stylist who was newer / appeared to be in training, gave my daughter and I her card and number to send a pic of how her hair turned out after it dried. Great, no issues there. I tipped her later at that number and my daughter sent her a pic of her hair once dried. This was my first time here. I got a great haircut with Michaela. Friendly staff and nice ambiance.

I specifically said I wanted an appointment for a haircut and style but was booked for full head of highlights. My hair not thick,, but is colored and short to just passed my ears. The stylist said I was booked for full head of foils in a 2 hr time slot. Then she used someone else's lightener formula on me and she took 3 hrs to complete and no haircut and style. 3hrs and $200+ down the drain. I still walked out a red head (dyed) because she said the integrity of my hair was too fragile that's why she needed to consult with 2 other stylists as to what to do with my hair before she even started the service. IF my hair was so fragile why did she not ethically offer me a deep conditioning and cut and style? Because $210 is alot more than $60 that's why. Will not be going back. I originally found this salon on Yelp, thank you to prior reviewers. HIDDEN GEM and heartwarming story of how the salon transitioned to Westmont. The salon has been here in Westmont since about July 2020, originally from Villa Park and family owned. Owner Lia opened her own salon after her parents salon for 53 yrs sold (parents got ill and they couldn't manage salon). The ladies in this salon have been working together for many many years. The ladies All wash, cut, clean up, sanitize (which I find refreshing). They will be moving to literally across the street in the next month as their final destination. These ladies are so sweet and social, it won't be a boring appointment. My experience here was pleasant. I feel Soo refreshed and alive. Haven't had a good haircut since before the first lockdown in March 2020. My god do I miss people washing my hair!! Kristen washed my hair while Jacqulyn cut and styled. I didn't know my hair could look so cute with beach waves (something I could learn during these covid-remote times) . Jacqulyn listened to my requests, gave me a beautiful cut and style with a lot of movement (layers layers!) Well Alia Rose Salon has three reviews on Yelp but has 31, that have been denied and shoved down to the bottom of the page. "Imma" spell it out for ya: THIRTY FUCKING ONE! Why you ask? Well Lia asked the same. She called and spoke with someone "a rep" lol embarrassing. Listen, I know we gotta do what we gotta do in life to earn a check. I am NOT demeaning that the person is doing what they are paid to do, but the response is enough pull your hair out. (Don't worry Alia Rose Salon can fix it) The response was "Well the software is in charge of what counts as viable review or not. There is nothing we can do about it. Some of your reviews are from people who are NOT yelpers or it's their first review or only have a couple reviews and that doesn't count. You are also not allowed to ask people for a review". I AM A ROBOT, I AM A ROBOT, Lol, I'll call BS. Oh wait, your software is SO good that it knows who asked who for a review? Simply amazing!! I am just asking, is it possible that a customer would ask "Where can I leave a review for the salon?" The funny thing is that the employees respond with "YELP" not Google. I have been searching high and low for the last few years trying to find a stylist that listened to what I was asking for and also knew how to cut a nice set of bangs. My sister and I had an appointment on Saturday 4/10/21 and it was our first time visiting the salon. We have been trying to find a new "salon home" and happy to say we found it at Alia Rose! The salon itself is beautiful with a chic & cool vibe. The waiting area was incredibly comfortable as were the salon chairs and hair drying/shampoo stations. The also have a super cute coffee bar station for their guests.
