I am extremely happy with my haircut from Morgan! She did a fantastic job, and I will definitely return. Although I only have after photos, I wish I had taken before photos to show the remarkable transformation. My experience was so positive that I felt compelled to write this review. I came in with some general ideas for haircuts I found on Google, as well as my own preferences. Morgan regularly checked in to make sure I was happy with the progress and how it looked and felt to me. The Style: Morgan gave me a classic men's side-part hairstyle with a low fade. Here's a detailed description: - Top Hair: Left longer, approximately 2-3 inches, allowing it to be neatly combed over to one side. It's designed to be styled without strong gels or pomades - just water and a comb are sufficient. - Side Part: A distinct and clean side part, created precisely with a comb during styling. - Sides: Feature a low fade, smoothly transitioning from the skin at the bottom to a longer length blending into the top hair. The fade starts just above the ears and gradually increases in length. - Back: Follows the same fading pattern as the sides, creating a uniform look. Check in kiosk was not working so check in involved someone calling from the back that my gal would be out shortly. I used the restroom while I waited but there was pee on the seat, gross. My stylist did not listen to me and kept asking "do I understand" but couldn't explain much more when I said no. Checkout consisted of being charged for a subpar cut that included a "blow out". The stylist didn't ask or explain if I wanted this and in fact I didn't because I had already told her I NEVER blow dry my hair so how is blowing it out going to let me know how it will look? I should have stopped her there or when she pulled and hurt a couple of times...when she finished it didn't look any different though it did feel weird due to the volumizing spray she put in, which didn't volumize and wasn't even dried in a way that would volumize. So disappointed and should have been charged for a basic cut only. I was so upset though that I was just trying not to yell or cry at this point so just paid and left. read more

This is the second time I scheduled an appointment, both times they got me right in without a problem. But both times the stylist completely failed and ignored the clear directions. I have no problem with the wait or the people, but today I went in and didn't get the person who I scheduled with. which is life, so I can forgive that. but then my stylist decided to flip the hair catching cloth and every hair went into my lap. and she absolutely ruined the style I was going for (Middle Part). I took my 6 year old grandson in as a walk-in appointment. I was greeted very professionally by the front desk receptionist. She was very friendly with her questions regarding the cut we wanted for my grandson. We only had to wait about 3 min. until our stylist Joanne came out to do my grandsons cut. She was very pleasant and patient with my sometimes "antsy" 6 year old. So, overall, our experience with the Hair Cuttery and Joanne at crosspoint shopping center was a 10! I had a giftcard and decided to finally use it. Scheduling an appointment was easy and fast and too my convenience! I came in with different shades of red (3). LOL And explained that I wanted my Copper Red again. We picked out a red that was close to my middle coloring. Trusting in thinking she knows how to color my hair, I received a very dark, for me almost looking black with a red shimmer. I also let Becky know that I tried Sangria at Sally's and I didn't like the dark. When I was done I was super hungry and just wanted to leave. When I saw the color I said: "That looks kind of dark!" She asked if I like it and I answered first yes, hoping it would wash out a little, like normal. Becky stated, that she didn't expect my hair to take the color that well. After looking at it for a day, I decided it is too dark and not even close to my copper red:-( I will not call in and ask them to fix it, because I don't trust them with color! read more

Maybe 4.5 stars just because I haven't had very much done with my hair other than cuts, but those always turn out great. However, their customer service is always A+. They actually care about you at this hair cuttery; the conversation is always good and very informative. Their hair products aren't terribly overpriced so no need to jump to Amazon for them. I am mainly writing because we had an issue with a product that we bought and they were extremely accommodating and kind considering the circumstances. We were not expecting it, and most places would have turned the other cheek. Thanks for the great service! read more

Worst experience I've ever had at any of their locations. I'm usually a very laid back person, I usually don't even have to request a specific person every one does a good job. Today that changed I went to the one on Cole Rd in Hagerstown. She was literally pouring dye down my neck continuously. Then when she got to my roots in the front, says this is runny better hold the towel.! I cut the visit short left no tip. She had zero customer service skills either didn't apologize or anything, was only willing to perform the bare minimum. So if you go to this location you better know your stylist. . . Her energy, professionalism and positive attitude left me with a great cut and blowout! I was very impressed with her work. I called in an appt. I come in and there are 4 stylists working on clients which is fine. However not one stylists even acknowledged me. I stood there for 5 minutes. The phone rings and finally someone acknowledges me. I say I've made an appointment for 4 already. I'm told I have to wait 20 minutes. Let me be clear here the point of making an appointment is to be seen at that time not to be bumped like a walk in. If you want to do business than be a business with at least minimal customer service. Perhaps the luck is in the draw but my money and recommendations are not endorsed here. read more

I made an appointment for myself and my granddaughter. I hadn't had a haircut for two years. My granddaughter has never cut her hair, so it's down to her waist. The first question was if we wanted our hair shampooed. Since we both had washed our hair, I said it didn't matter. Stylist said, "I wasn't sure if you wanted to walk around with a wet head." It didn't hit me until I sat down and looked around, but I didn't see a hairdryer in the place, so I'm guessing they only cut hair? Anyway, all my granddaughter wanted was a couple of inches of dead ends trimmed. I wanted an actual style. My granddaughter ended up with - LAYERS? I ended up looking like she just whacked five inches of length off. No styling. No recommendations. I still have no idea how to style his haircut. I know this isn't a fancy upscale salon, but I've never gotten my hair cut and not had the stylist actually style my hair. Oh, and it will take years for my granddaughter to grow her hair back out to one length. Had I any clue, I would have never had them do our hair at the same time, so I could watch what they were doing to my granddaughter. read more

Terrible experience and the worst haircut that I've had since I was in the 4th grade. I asked for a cut slightly above my shoulders and below my chin. I also asked for long layers. What I got was hair that barely comes to my chin with really high, short, layers. She used a volumizer on my already thick hair. The volumizer combined with my thick short, layers makes my hair really big at the top and thinned out at the bottom. Beyond the high layer there is nothing to even out the do. When she finished styling she asked me if it had too much volume. I guess the look on my face tipped her off. I said, yes. Her response was that since it was raining it would flatten out. I immediately came home, showered, and tried to restyle. I'm not able to do anything with the hairstyle. I tried pins, I tried a headband, I used a straight iron....nothing helps. Even wearing a hat looks silly given the length. I will not be going back to the Hair Cuttery again. I only went today because I was desperate and they were open early. I'm taking a picture, so that even in desperation I can remember this experience. read more
