Look- I've been coming to the hair cuttery since I learned how to walk it's always a SLIGHT gamble. It's a budget friendly quick stop. No more, no less. With these factors in mind, I came by the hair cuttery last weekend. I don't have a lady I see regularly. I kinda winged it. Why? Because I needed to feel something and the sun was out and trim my split ends that were distracting me through meetings at work. I checked in and immediately the stylist was available. I'd suggest a "master stylist" if you want to be more risk averse, but they were all taken. I'm decently low maintenance with my hair these days. Ann did my haircut. She was a very sweet older lady with a lot of patience. She really took her time with my haircut. Not the most powerful wash I've gotten, but it occurred to me that she was knowledgeable and just trying to earn a living, her energy was very positive and let her do her thing. The Hair cuttery has very much become a place where they push their products and they push their extra services. Keep this in mind because it doesn't matter who you have cutting your hair- they will try to sell you Cibu products or an add on treatment of olaplex. I've done the OlaPlex treatment in the past when I have a little extra time to kill, but I really wanted to just get in and get out (with a few inches left behind) so I opted out this time. I walked out with a fresh cut and much less split ends so all in all it was definitely a positive experience. I would say this is really a make of it what you can place and do not expect expert treatment at a very low price point. I paid approx $40 with tip nothing added and all things considered will do it again in about 5 months. read more

Was not impressed with their blowout price. I should have stayed home and done it myself but was feeling lazy. My regular salon was too far to go but I pay much less and looks better. Shampoo and just blow dry dried, no product was $47 tip not included. I paid the same for 2 bags of groceries at Trader Joes. I realized later when I looked at prices it was cheaper with a groupon. I called the salon 2 hours prior to my appointment, asking for a partial balayage and a haircut, and the lady on the phone said she could fit me in at 3:30. I had to uber there due to the snow and the second I walk into the door, I get told that she actually CAN'T do my balayage and to come back another day. She didnt know how to do one. I am not the person to complain but this was extremely unprofessional. They should have said to rebook a different time ON THE PHONE, and not after I arrived at their salon. (keep in mind they had my number to text me.) Not to mention, the 30 dollars I spent on an uber there and back for absolute no reason at all. I booked an appt for a tea tree scalp massage wash and cut with Farah, and it was well done. The service was efficient right from the moment I walked in. The massage was so nice, and the minty scent from the shampoos were so relaxing. The scent reminded me of when I vacationed in a resort in the Dominican Republic! It was so soothing!! After watching so many TikTok videos of scalp massages, I'm happy I got one! Farah was very kind, and kept me involved in every step of the way, from asking me if I was comfortable in the chair, to asking about water temp, to asking me about how short or long I wanted to keep my hair, to the length of the layers I wanted. There was an angry customer who yelled A LOT expecting a full refund. Every hair stylist handled the situation calmly and tried to fix the situation. Although I was shocked, I felt safe and taken care of, during my hair cut. Overall, my hair cut was cut a bit shorter than I wanted but it's a very nice cut. My hair has a beautiful u shape in the back with the layers, and it's all ready for Lunar New Year! Thank you Farah, and Hair Cuttery for a good experience. My hair feels so light and refreshed, and the scent is STILL SO AMAZING!! For someone who rarely cuts her hair, (I am known for my extremely loooong hair), it was a good experience and I will definitely be back when I need another cut! read more

I came in for a wash + style for my birthday and asked for a blowout (fluffy curls) and she agreed. I left with poorly washed hair (I have dandruff and typically it's gone after a thorough wash) as I could still see basically the dandruff I came in with (I've washed it better myself at home) and straight hair. I told her it wasn't exactly what we agreed on and she said it'd cost extra to curl it with a wand (which still isn't a blowout as that's done with a hairdryer and a hairbrush). I had to explain it to her and in the end decided I'd do it at home. They are currently accepting walk-ins and are taking precautions for COVID. They ask if you have any symptoms before taking your temperature. Then you are directed to the back to wash your hands. Everyone was wearing masks although no gloves since they are cutting hair. I came here for just a signature cut (shorter hair with layers). Victor was my stylist. Victor was very nice throughout the process and made sure to verify what I wanted done to my hair. I was happy with the end result. There was a little bit of a wait to pay since only one person was handling it, but it wasn't too long. I'm not sure how they are with other services, but I would come again for a basic haircut. read more

I am so disappointed with the service this salon does. My husband and my son, had a haircut today. My son haircut was completely messed up. And if you think it is a child and moves so that the reason, he is 8 years old and doesn't move especially if he has a phone in his hands. Both sideburns were different. The top of the head was did not have a single area to be the same length, short or long. The bangs were completely uneven from mid of the forehead 1 inch to 1/8 inch from the skin. I am so dissatisfied with the service. If you have child as a customer and they can't express themselves, doesn't mean you can do your job properly. Very very disappointed. read more
