Tino is especially funny on Sunday mornings doing his Live social media broadcasts while cutting and always getting his clients involved. I can't say enough about Tino's warm-heartedness and the feeling of friendship in the shop as a whole. Coffee and bottled water are nice little perks as well and if you come at the right time, Tino may even offer you some of his breakfast! The parking lot is sufficient although a few times, there was construction going on in the road but of course, that's nothing they can control. Even the people doing laundry next door are nice. lol. Overall, this is a top-notch barbershop and the staff is amazing. I wish I could give it 10 stars for having a very clean and inviting girl-friendly bathroom, totally uncommon in barbershops!

I have been a long time victim of the chain chop shops and feel sorry for those who had too see the back of my head afterwards... Admittedly, there's a strong willed cowlick back there, but hey, isn't that their job to handle that kind of thing? Also, went to some salons (only scary the first time) and the quality is high, but so is the price and the time it takes. Phils has: 1. No appointments, just a sign up sheet, so the stylists move fast. 2. Phil and his cool lady stylists are all friendly and engaged in what they're doing (Can't stand the bored attitudes and gloomy spirits of most of the chain ladies) 3. Busy, and long lasting business, means good quality. 4.Good skilled stylists. Maria was great, shes super friendly and gave an awesome haircut in the time it takes Great Clips and with the quality of a salon. She even shaved the neck with a straight razor and trimmed my beard without missing a beat. She's genuinely engaged, not just talking to fill space. Whole experience was well worth it, and glad that I've found my new barber shop!

I pretty much was able to ignore it. Phil has a tendency to focusing more on talking politics than on cutting clients hair, it got to the point where a client asked if he was on break because Phil was talking so much. He had about seven women working for him, now he's down to I believe three. Tendency years ago there were a couple people waiting with several women working but now very few people are going there and now you need an appointment. This last Saturday they were open and no customers. I wonder how they feel about Trump now.

So I was in the hunt for a new barber, and I thought I would give this place a try. I have been to Sammy's and had haircuts maybe 10 times now by four different barbers, so it is time for a review ... and this place is worth visiting. Each barber gives you a haircut just a bit differently, but they were all routinely very good. I did try their online appointment setup, but really had no luck with it. Since I am in the neighborhood and can pick my time, I always just arrive as a walk-in and have never had a problem getting a haircut quickly. For those that want to be walk-ins, I would recommend weekdays and before noon for the easiest service. Weekends are busier, and you run into appointments set up earlier. So if weekends are your thing, make an online appointment. As I mentioned I have had four different barbers (Gio, Modo, French, and Shukri), and they were all very friendly and welcoming. I think Gio has moved on, but the other three are still there. Sammy himself is mostly a weekend guy, and I have never had him for a haircut but I am quite sure he is very good. One thing I really like about this place is that they always do a straight razor trim around your ears and the back of your neck ... that is old-fashioned and really a step above. You want a good haircut in a happening place, you have to give this place a try. These guys are talented and friendly, and they always have music playing and sports on the TV ... recommended.

I have had my hair cut by different barbers here and trust me, all of these guys are top notch. They cut your hair like what you would expect from a Chicago barber shop (very clean lines and any crazy style you want). I also get my 2yr old sons hair cut here. They are great with kids and always exceed my expectations. I always come here when I'm in town because I don't have to call in and I know my cut will always look great. A lady was busy with a customer and there was a guy in the corner (I'm assuming it was Tom) reading the paper. He got up right away and I sat in the chair that he went behind. Went in on a Friday afternoon and one other person was getting their haircut. The place is super clean and very professional. You will find zero clutter in this shop.
