The alternatives offered--a different location (45-1hr away from Groom's home), another date, or the nearly empty salon--did not resolve her concerns or work with her plans. Despite these changes coming from the Anita's end, she repeatedly emphasized that the deposit was nonrefundable. My cousin ultimately declined the appointment and told her to keep the $50. Based on the messages exchanged with my cousin, I found the handling of this situation unprofessional and disappointing. A business's move should not become its clients' last-minute problem.

I've been burned before. Somewhere along the way, I've been programmed to think scarcity of availability for salons means they're better quality, since the appointments are seemingly more in demand. Thankfully, my nerves were quickly quelled. Emily was so kind, personable, and NORMAL. She didn't make me feel uncomfortable, the salon was welcoming and the color service? Phenomenal. There's a moment during a foil color treatment where you have no idea what you're going to look like in 10 minutes. Not a clue. It's a kind of stress and anxiety that's hard to explain unless you've already personally experienced the bowl rinse out after a color treatment. Wondering, have I just made a terrible mistake? The cut does look a bit better now, but the original haircut was much shorter than I wanted and uneven, so more length had to be cut to fix it. In total, I lost about 5-6 inches, which was very upsetting since I been working hard to grow it out. I also expected the correction to include a finished style or blow dry, especially because I had an event afterward, but my hair was left puffy and not fully styled. I also want to be honest that I felt uncomfortable with the situation around my Yelp review. During the appointment, I felt pushed to delete my review, and the interaction felt overwhelming. I understand the salon cares about its reputation, but I believe customers should be able to share honest experiences and decide for themselves if they want to update or remove a review. I appreciate the attempt to make things right, but overall this was still a stressful experience for me. I genuinely wish I could leave three stars because I appreciate that an effort was made to correct my haircut. Unfortunately, the correction felt more like trying to minimize the original mistake than truly making things right, so I don't feel comfortable rating the experience any higher.
