Please refer to K.R.'s review. The same thing happened to us. He falsified his services, made excuses and left the vehicle in worse shape. Please do not use him. He will further damage your vehicle and you will need to pay more for repairs elsewhere. In addition, he is listed online as several different names which is deceptive. Perhaps he renames his company when he does not like the reviews or runs into legal trouble? Look below. So many company names.

I called my Allstate agent and he did confirm that it was part of my policy, then filed the claim and set up the appointment at Safelite for me. When I arrived I spoke with David and at first had to clarify that a claim was actually filed, which was my mistake for not explaining the situation clearly and making it seem like I was just walking in without filing one. He was really nice about it though and was very informative, first confirming again that it was covered, then letting me know that the repair won't make the chip go away and there's a risk of the chip turning into a crack during repair. He was also up-front about how much my deductible is on the off-chance I'd need to replace the entire windshield. He gave me an estimate of 30-40 minutes for them to finish, pointed out their water/coffee/tea station and where the bathroom was, clarified where the chip was, and got to work. After ~35 minutes he came back out to tell me they were done and that the repair was fine and cured so I didn't have to worry about ruining it. Aesthetically you can still see the chip a little bit, but it's much better than before. Overall this was a very straightforward experience with no surprises, and David was fantastic and a very friendly and helpful guy!

This isn't my first rodeo with Safelite…read more Would you believe I had two windshields replaced in the same year, not to mention a service call to repair a chip? But anyway, it would be logical that Safelite would be familiar with my model of car. So the second time I called Safelite, I had pushback that they couldn't replace my windshield. Then they called me back with an appointment. They called me yet again to schedule an appointment at another location, over an hour from my house, for 8 am. I received a call the very minute I was going to leave my house for my 8am appointment (mind you, it's an hour away), that my repair couldn't be handled at that location. Very frustrating. This ends well, however, because I was able to have my windshield replaced at this Morton Grove location. And before I could get cracked windshield #3, I sold the car. TLDR: lots of back and forth to get windshield repaired. Also, cost of windshield was $2500, so you can understand why I wanted to go through insurance and use Safelite. Also: trucks and landscape trucks driving on Edens without covers = bad.

The work I had done was not major repair; but, that seemed not to matter as I felt my car was just as important as others there with more extensive damage. I would though suggest a more smoother way to provide rental assistance, this is because they primarily use enterprise rent a car. Enterprise is well below the quality that Gerber has. Other then that, Gerber is high quality and I would go there again. Follow up...... I know you guys have a relationship with Enterprise, I totally get that Jessica! I really do. But they did sour what should of been a perfect experience from the time I came to Gerber to the time I left. And that Gerber had to offer reasons and apologies is something you guys should not have to do. Yes it was a unexpected busy day there..... but they overbooked and had no contingent plan for overbooking and they lacked insight into the reality of the DNC convention that week and young adults renting SUVs to return to college. I would call that a lack of judgment on their part. If Gerber uses Enterprise primarily, consider their actions as part of the claim process initiated by my insurance company and Gerber's professionalism. It makes all look less professional. Even though Hertz was a bit of a hassle in the return process; the young man at Hertz was a gentleman and showed the utmost respect in his customer service role. Hey, I'm just saying! But you guys did a very good job.

My first--and last--experience with Gerber Collision & Glass in Highland Park, IL was deeply…read morefrustrating and extremely disappointing. The customer service, communication, and lack of accountability throughout the process were unacceptable. I dropped off my Subaru Crosstrek on 7/24/26. Over the following weeks, I received many incorrect completion updates because information was repeatedly provided for another Subaru Crosstrek at the shop. This happened multiple times over the course of my repair, despite the fact that the shop was well aware there were two similar vehicles on-site. There was an additional delay because an order for a specific car part (rubber bumper cover) was not placed along with other parts in the initial order. I was promised several callback updates that never occurred. The receptionist, at one point, put me on hold without asking, and then sent the call go to voicemail right before the facilities closed. During the third week of the car repair, I received a voicemail referring to me as "Mr". I am not a man. I was contacted several times about a clarification regarding the old car parts that was already communicated to the receptionist on the day of the car pick up (8/14/26). When I got the car back, I noticed that a customization on my dashboard was broken, the steering column fabric that covers the wires under the hand wheel dashboard is now loose, and my rear view mirror was replaced incorrectly upside down (where the manual dimming feature is now placed above the mirror, not below). What is particularly concerning is the apparent lack of basic quality control, communication, and accountability in addressing mistakes. As a customer who entrusted Gerber with my vehicle after an accident, I expected clear communication, accurate information, and reasonable follow-through. Instead, I was left to repeatedly call the shop myself just to determine what was actually happening with my vehicle. Poor customer service and repeated communication failures make me concerned about the safety and quality of the repair work received. Being without my vehicle for an extended period is already stressful; having to repeatedly chase the shop for accurate information only made the situation significantly worse. I hope management takes this review seriously and recognizes that customers should not have to repeatedly call, correct misinformation, and chase down updates simply to receive basic information about their own vehicle, and that when repairs are completed they should be done correctly and safely and not damage customer property.

We scheduled a time that was convenient for both of us, and he explained he would come by and give me an estimate after inspecting the vehicle. Mike came promptly at the appointed time, and he was able to give me an estimate within 15 mins after reviewing the amount of time and work needed to be preformed. I was unsure that he would be able to get out the dings on the roof of my hardtop convertible, but he was able to get those out and the ding on the passenger door. The two dings on the driver's side, Mike was able to get out 1 completely but the other one there was still a slight ding but he got out most of it. I think those 2 dings were difficult get out as the dings were close together. Regardless I was very happy overall with the service Mike provided, he is extremely professional and his experience with paintless dent removal is evident. I would recommend Mike for anyone needing ding or dent repair, he is fair and honest, and will call on him again if I need his services.
