This isn't my first rodeo with Safelite…read more Would you believe I had two windshields replaced in the same year, not to mention a service call to repair a chip? But anyway, it would be logical that Safelite would be familiar with my model of car. So the second time I called Safelite, I had pushback that they couldn't replace my windshield. Then they called me back with an appointment. They called me yet again to schedule an appointment at another location, over an hour from my house, for 8 am. I received a call the very minute I was going to leave my house for my 8am appointment (mind you, it's an hour away), that my repair couldn't be handled at that location. Very frustrating. This ends well, however, because I was able to have my windshield replaced at this Morton Grove location. And before I could get cracked windshield #3, I sold the car. TLDR: lots of back and forth to get windshield repaired. Also, cost of windshield was $2500, so you can understand why I wanted to go through insurance and use Safelite. Also: trucks and landscape trucks driving on Edens without covers = bad.

I came back for the third time where I had to do my own inspection because they don't come out and tell you what they did. This place was the worst experience I've had in a very long time.

Safelite happened to be partners with my insurance, so I feel like I didn't have much choice,…read moreespecially because this location is 2 minutes from where I live. I had gotten a few quotes upwards ~$100 from a few other places before thinking about calling my insurance about it. I swear I had paid like $15 at some point in the past few years somewhere back in Ohio, but maybe I'm misremembering. This is more a testament to my insurance than Safelite, but I didn't have to pay any deductibles and the lady who helped me over the phone to schedule the appointment was super pleasant, accommodating and efficient. As for this Safelite location, my appointment to get a small chip on my windshield repaired was at 8am as it was opening. A couple walked in right in front of me to drop off their car for another appointment, which took a good 5 minutes, then it was me. The lady who was helping us was perfectly pleasant even though it was early in the morning. I have very low expectations of people's moods when opening their shops in the morning, but I was pleasantly surprised. She even let me sit down to have my McD breakfast inside! LOL (Never expected them to say no, but you never know...) The job was done in less than half hour, which was on point to my expectations. As per usual, they gave the speech about how crack repairs are never perfect and you'll be able to see the remnants of the repair. It was to be expected, so everything was fine. All in all, I was super happy with the service!

I was told mind you a week later with warranty tha it would cost another $178. Terrible criminals my gray hair shows I'm a senior citizen that they took advantage of and wanted to continue to to take advantage of. I had every right to ask for an entire new windshield. WHY DID THEY INSIST I GET A WARRANTY. This will be reported to the better business .. Getting a lawyer for this corrupt gouging will be no problem being they are my uncles.. THE WORST! Safelite you are speculating on how a crack appears a week later. Were you there? To charge me another $178 just seal a tiny crack is criminal and greed & you know it.. I'll manage as you will but I'll make sure people know how you gouge elderly people. You should be ashamed of yourself.. I'm sure you sleep comfortably at night but not happily GREED IS A SICKNESS.. I got it sealed for $20 By an ethical company maybe they can help put you out of business.. Bye Bye

Avoid Glen Auto Body! They take shortcuts and use cheap parts if they fix your car. My Jeep was…read morerear ended and they replaced my hitch cover with bolts and wing nuts. The cover used to have a very easy to remove springloaded twist lock. Also, as a result of their "repair" work, the car is a lot louder on the highway. I completely regret supporting this local business.

The Good The only thing that gave them a star was that they…read moreare priced competitively. Had a cracked/hanging side view mirror that couldn't be used while driving. Huge safety concern. The Bad Called to get a side view mirror fixed in my car on Monday. No problem. Ordered part said it would be done that Thursday. Called Wednesday to confirm - voicemail 3 times. Finally got a call back and found out they need to order an additional part they forgot about but should be here Friday. Ok, no problem we can arrange for Friday. Will also pay for the additional piece. The Ugly Call Thursday to confirm drop off (husband took of of work since we have a baby and needed to transfer car seats etc) - told can't do Friday and Tuesday is better. Tuesday comes around- parts still not in. Rescheduled AGAIN to Saturday. Triple confirmed the date and time Snd informed him I would be there 9am sharp. Said he needs to paint the cover and needs time to cure etc etc. Fine. Go to drop off car on Saturday morning (while baby is asleep at home). I was told he'd be there at 9am. Arrive at 9 am. Doors locked. Call - no one picks up. 930...still no one and another person arrives waiting. At this point I can't turn back and go home, too much time has been committed getting here and the mirror is a big safety concern on the road. I find a driver that works for the shop and have him call. Told he's on his way. He arrives at 10:30am. Waiting an hour and a half. His excuse - traffic. Not excusable. I don't care what profession you are in- you call your customers if you'll be more than 20 mins late, and definitely if you'll be an hour and a half late. Once the work is done - find out the additional piece is not ready. Need the paint to "cure" on the cover (which I was already told was going to happen previously- so not sure why it needs to cure twice). So have to go back to get it put on. At this point I've decided that I will never do business with this shop again. Saved some money, work was done okay, but was not worth the headache. Unprofessional and no importance placed on customers time. There are plenty more shops in the area and they just lost their business to someone else because they can't get their ish together.
