DECEPTIVE AUCTION ITEM DESCRIPTION AND ARROGANT CUSTOMER SERVICE STAFF This will be my first negative review on Yelp! I was shocked by the treatment and handling of my complaint by the customer service staff. The experience let me to write this review. I started using this auction site a couple months ago and understand the idea behind purchasing auction items. My bidding is based on the description of the item and bid accordingly. The item I "won" was described as in GREAT CONDITION (see below). ALTAIR LIGHTING LED FLUSHMOUNT 14"; IN BOX; LIGHT SIGNS OF USE; GREAT CONDITION; MAY OR MAY NOT CONTAIN ALL HARDWARE; UNABLE TO TEST; AS IS; GREAT HOUSE DECOR I bid on it based on the description as in "great condition". The winning bid was approximately 50% of the retail sale price. I took it home and tested it. It did not work. I took it back to complain that it was defective and requested to exchange for another one since they have more of these lights. I also suggested to the customer service person that the description should state "MAY OR MAY NOT WORK" so bidders can bid accordingly. She stated that it is "AS IS" and would not help me with the defective product. I asked to speak with the owner. She said he was on vacation and stated she was in charge. I complained that the item does not work and it is not in Great Condition. It is a piece of JUNK. She then said she would take it back and would BLOCK me from any further bidding on their auction site. I was shocked by her arrogant response. That is bad business practice and absolute horrible customer service. The business' own description on the website states, " Our focus is to supply quality merchandise for a reasonable price......... We strive to make sure our customers are completely satisfied with their purchase so we can develop a long lasting business relationship with them." That customer service person certainly did not know what the owner's mission statement was. I am an individual bidder and perhaps my purchases are relatively small compared to other bidders. I know I complained but that is not the way to treat a customer. I receive better service from a swap meet seller than this ARROGANT customer service staff. And yes, she blocked me from their website. Beware of their deceptive auction item descriptions. That customer service staff provided horrible service and was absolutely arrogant.
