Haferman does a great job keeping our water clear and smelling great. We have high iron, and our Kinnetico system works great.

Have had this company for over 16 years, system worked well, Mike service guy was always amazing. Contacted them recently requesting a service call because I had some rust in my water, I was told they couldn't come out for at least 2 weeks , so I contacted another Kinetico dealer, and they were able to come the very next morning, and were very nice, pleasant, and understanding. I contacted Haferman and asked about possibly purchasing a new system, and had a few questions regarding replacement parts for my current system. I can not believe how rude and unprofessional the people I talked to were. And for this exact reason, I will not purchase their systems again. This water filter system company is one to steer clear of if you don't want to be ripped off, swindled, and manipulated when you have a dispute Here is the short version: 1. Initial Contact (August 15, 2024): I called Haferman to report a reduced water flow from my reverse osmosis (R/O) system. During this call, the representative confirmed that my system, purchased in November 2019, was still under a five-year warranty covering parts and labor. Based on her recommendation, I purchased and installed replacement filters for $156, which did not resolve the issue. 2. Service Call (August 23, 2024): A technician, Spencer, conducted a service visit. He identified a missing valve on the membrane as the likely cause of the issue Spencer replaced the membrane but only disclosed after installation that it would cost $280 due to a warranty discrepancy. This unexpected cost was not communicated beforehand. 3. Post-Service Issues: Despite the membrane replacement, the system still does not function properly. It produces only 2.5 cups of water per cycle and has been unused since the service visit due to these unresolved issues. Points of Dispute 1. Warranty Misrepresentation: Your representative initially confirmed a five-year warranty for parts and labor. (they record their calls - proof) On the Service Call, Spencer later cited a conflicting two-year warranty from Kinetico, which should not override the original representation by your staff. 2. Undisclosed Costs: Spencer did not inform me of the $280 membrane charge prior to installation. Had I known, I would not have authorized the replacement. This lack of transparency is unacceptable. 3. Labor Charges: I should not be billed for the technician's time spent clarifying warranty terms with Kinetico or for system troubleshooting unrelated to physical labor. 4. Unresolved Problem: The system remains non-functional despite the service. I should not bear full costs for a service that failed to restore functionality. Collection Agency STAY AWAY! read more

I requested someone to change my two water filters. I was told the charge would be $144.00 plus the cost of the filters, which I agreed to. However, extra water testing was done without my consent or need, which raised my bill $60.00. I called for a refund to no avail. Their customers need to know that this company has no problem taking advantage of service calls to make more money, which I find extremely unethical read more

I've had a system from Haferman for years. I wouldn't go anywhere else. Service is top notch and the quality is unbeatable. My terrible well water is now soft and iron free... and I don't have to worry about what's in my drinking water. The peace of mind I get from this system is worth every penny. read more

Replaced my water softener and Tech was very professional and friendly. He explained how everything works and did a really nice, clean Job. He was on time that is A+. Well, I was happy with the company till I wasn't...everything went smooth then I called the removal company thinking Haferman gave me $100 discount because that was what they told me. They didn't say I have to pay the removal company full price. They didn't mention any price for removing the old one. I thought it was free. It is not!!! they charge that much money to replace the water softener and you have to pay OVER $100 to remove the old one? who does that? very disappointed. their price just doesn't worth it. Spent $4k for a new water softener and whole house filtering system. Went to change the proprietary sediment filter according to the maintenance schedule today. The installer did not leave me a 3' section of 3/8" tubing required to drain the system prior to changing the filter. Need to go to Menards now. Not too happy about that. read more

Hafermans's is an EXCELLENT company to have for your water treatment needs! My house had SMELLY, HARD, WELL WATER when I first purchased the home. I heard Haferman's commercials on WCCO and thought I would have them check my water. YUCK - They found levels of gunk that were unacceptable. I asked what could be done to make my family SAFE TO DRINK THE WATER. They gave MANY, MANY options. I purchased a water treatment unit, and the difference was INCREDIBLE. After they installed it, I called them back to talk about the water purifier for the kitchen. ( we spoke at the appointment, but just moving in the house, we had to take things as we could ) The representative checked the water, and found the water treatment was working fine, but he "fine tuned" it to make it more efficient. He recommended we rent/buy a water filtration system for the kitchen; fully explained which systems did, I thought there was only one type of filtration! I asked him which system he had in his home, he told me - and I went with that system!!! Being a 100% disabled Veteran, their Maintenance personnel respond quickly when I need more salt or filters replaced. THEY ALWAYS ARE PROFESSIONAL and SO POLITE. Tried to use this company for water filter replacement. The call started off with a very unfriendly and cold male who assisted me with scheduling an appointment. Typically customer service skills are highly valuable when you have that person answering the phone and being the front line for the company. My two calls to Haferman were this way. I chose not to go with this company due to price of installing and price of product. read more

He was a witness to my car accident and he went out of his way to get the driver and his information that caused my car accident this morning as I was unable to, he came back to me and made sure I was ok and to give me all the information. My Dad recommend Kinetico products to us several years ago so when we bought our own house and needed a water softener we called our local dealer, Haferman Water. We've been very happy with Kinetico products they are amazing we have the water filtration system as well as the water softener I can't say enough good things about them. Now onto Haferman Water, I've had to call them twice, once to replace a filter and another time to try to fix an issue that we were having with the system. We were paying for someone to come out to replace the filter and you can not believe how RUDE people are at this place. The receptionist acts like she's doing you a favor by answering the phone. I asked if I could just come out and purchase a filter and she told me no. Ok fine you can come install it, no problem. The entire conversation was short and rude, um I believe I'm paying for this service? The second time we had an issue with the ice maker in our refrigerator and I asked if they could come and repair it. They told me it would cost me $150 to have them come out, um didn't you install it incorrectly in the first place? I literally couldn't hate these people more. Zero Stars, actually. The sales robot we were handed over to was more interested in running through his whole pitch that included stuff we didn't and never would need or care about. Anytime I asked a question he became rude and upset and told me he needed to finish "working us". He was absolutely horrible at sales. The car we bought last month was a more pleasant experience than replacing our water softener (who'd have thunk it!). Rude, arrogant, ignorant. Never asked us about our needs or the size of the space we were dealing with. Knew nothing about what we wanted during his whole "workover". Why are there no brochures in that weird, cold sales room? Why are there no prices anywhere? Give me something to look at besides you and a bunch of non-labeled tanks in an empty room, dude! Went immediately to Commers in Burnsville - even got a big discount just for mentioning the awful experience at Haferman!!! read more

Having seen commercials we decided to stop at ask a few questions at the St Paul Home and Garden Show. Our questions were asked, and no pressure was put on us. We didn't even get cold calls after having left our contact information. Several months later tired of hard water deposits ruining faucets and small appliances, and having to replace Pur filters we called for a quote. Dan came out a few days later in the evening to accommodate our schedule, answered our questions and again did not pressure us, just educated us. Install was scheduled the next day and within 3 days we were all set up. Install was timely, fast, and educational. The difference in the water was IMMEDIATE and so awesome we drained the hot water heater so we could get the full benefits right away rather than waiting a few days for the hard water to be used up. The drinking water system is amazing - taste as good as if not better than expensive bottled water and it's always cold. read more

Do not buy anything from this place!! They are rude and don't care about you they just want your money. We rented a reverse osmosis for 3 years. We decided we couldn't afford the monthly payment anymore so I called to get it removed. The owner answered and was rude and said good luck. Well I had it scheduled to be removed August 1st and I scheduled this back in June. Well we got a statement in July for August so we called right away and they told us don't worry we won't be charged. Well August 12th I go to look at our account and we were charged. We called and the same lady that told us not to worry about the payment for August since it will be removed said this payment on August 12th was for July. Um?? My husband had to fight with the lady to get our money back. They are so rude and are just out to take your money and don't care about you. STAY AWAY!!!
