Hadley point campground is a great spot for rv's not so much for tents. They have a pool witch makes it nice if you need to cool down. I don't like how you have to ask for a campfire ring. The camp ground spots for tents aren't really flat they are really rocky. They have free WiFi witch is amazing. read more

Hadley's Point Campground 33 Hadley Point Rd, Bar Harbor, ME 04609 Campground Amy Pare 2 points   in the last week Made a same day reservation on a Tuesday for 3 nights. Decided on Wednesday night we wanted to leave Thursday morning instead of Friday morning. The older lady working in the office was rude and argumentative, insisting that the email I received clearly indicated no refunds for early departure. I told her I didn't receive an email because I talked to someone on the phone. She argued and argued with me about the email. When she finally pulled my reservation card, there was no email address. Instead of apologizing and working with me, she got more belligerent and said I should've known there would be no refund. Told me no one ever issues refunds. I told her that wasn't true because I've gotten refunds before when leaving early at campgrounds and hotels. She told me most people stay for the length they book a site for. The owner of the place was really sweet on the phone and when we checked in. But she should've made it clear somewhere there are no refunds. And if I were the owner there's no way I would want someone as rude and unprofessional as the lady in the office right now working for me. read more

Very nice RV park. We had a pleasant stay. It was quiet and the grounds were well maintained. They put us in a pull-through spot toward the back of the campground and it was a great location. Lots of trees behind our spot. The Host was very friendly. We would stay there again if traveling through Bar Harbor, Maine. read more

Overall we had a pretty good experience here. The staff is friendly and helpful, bathrooms are cleaner than many other places I've stayed, and it was a very relaxed environment. The biggest downside was that as soon as we got to our site we noticed a booming red ant population, and they were biters. We were tent camping in mid-September and I'm not sure if this is just a common problem this time of year or in this area, but it was surely an inconvenience. read more

Nice campground. Arrived on Sunday of Labor day weekend. It was crowded and busy as expected, but then cleared out during the week. Nice location to explore the area. Short walk out the side of the campground to the road its on, where the end is a nice little beach to watch the sunset. Sites are kinda small, but considering the area you can't expect too much. read more

We loved it! We rented a cabin the weekend after memorial day weekend. The price for the cabin was a little over $100 for two nights, and it was pet friendly. The cabin looks brand new, like we'd been the first to stay there. It was very clean (not a single bug) and we had plenty of space. We loved that the cabins come with their own bathroom--I'm six months pregnant and need the restroom constantly. We also appreciated the outside electricity that we could have used to plug in a coffee maker (but we forgot it, so we didn't use it). The parking was ample, our cabin was set apart from others (#12), and there was a fire pit with a removable grate over it. We could not have been happier! We went during a quiet time, so the pool wasn't ready for use yet, and the shuttles weren't running into town yet. But I'd bet the shuttles are super convenient when the season gets going. It looks like they're either building or renovating a basketball court, and putting up a play ground too. Great for families--even the dogs. Minutes away from downtown Bar Harbor and Acadia Nat'l park. We had a blast! We will absolutely stay here again! read more

Due to Acadia's State Parks being closed we had to stay here, and although our group was able to enjoy ourselves, I probably would not recommend this camp-site to anyone. The spaces were INCREDIBLY close together, when we arrived our first day an RV was IN one of our spots we had PAID for, we asked them to move over... they moved all their belongings and then parked their truck INFRONT of our literal campsite number & water/electricity hook-up, they even had our picnic table. The spaces were MUCH too close together. Luckily we had two other spaces we could use...and wasn't worth making a fuss because the staff wouldnt have done anything anyways. Also, quiet hours are at 10pm and exactly at 10:02 we had a man come by to tell us to quiet down... we weren't even being loud, unlike the large group across the field from us. Also, the set up of a lot of the spots are just in a giant open field.. not really what we had expected, not much privacy. The bathrooms, they claim are modern but they are incredibly smelly and they only had 1 stall open due to covid.. not sure how forcing everyone in one stall is going to help. Oh and did they say they have coffee at the sight? Wrong, we had to walk 1/4 mile down the road and 1/4 back for coffee. ( Sweet Pea Coffee.. delicious Coffee !) Be careful if you stay here- we had a lot of red ant bites that HURT... and lot of skunk smells! read more

I've stayed at Hadley's Point twice and have nothing but good things to say about this place. The first trip was in 2008 and we camped in a tent. We stayed in lot D and it was a nice spot, kind of an open field, but camp spots were all along the outside of the field and it felt quiet cozy. It is so reasonably priced!!!! Cheapest campground in bar harbor, you really can't beat the price. The second trip was August 2013 and we slept in my Honda element instead of a tent. I had only planned on staying one night when I booked three weeks prior to going. We got spot B35 and we loved it! A cute little nook of a spot! It was again very cheap and reasonable compared to the other campgrounds in the area. The people who run and own the campground are soooooooo nice! Very very sweet! We decided to stay another night and they only had 1 spot available and were able to get us into a different spot. This spot was D30 (back in the lot I stayed in in 2008). It was a water/electric spot so it was 12.00 more than the tent spot we had the night before that didn't have any of those things. We were happy to pay it, because again it is still cheaper than the other campground prices. This spot didn't have a fire ring when we first got there and we didn't know you had to ask for one. We made a fire and about an hour after the guy who patrols the grounds came over and commented on our nice fire and said we needed a ring. He and his helper got a ring out of his tiny (clownlike truck) and contained our fire. He was really nice about the whole thing! Overall I love this campground and will for sure go back again the next time I go to bar harbor. read more

We had a great time two years ago at Hadley Point. Showers are metered but had decent pressure and you didn't feel rushed. The people were friendly and the lady I spoke to while booking our stay was sweet. The tent site we had was spacious and not too close to our neighbors. We didn't take advantage of the pool, rec courts or laundry facilities, but they all looked very nice. We had a wonderful stay and are heading back in a couple of months :-) read more

This is not a good place to go if you want to stay up past 10 PM. We were part of a large group and were spoken to several times by "security". They said we were too loud and that we had too many conversations going at once, even though we were all having the same quiet conversation!!! The sites are small, no privacy whatsoever. We will not be back. read more

I'd prefer giving 3.5. It's a great location for one. Right down the road is a cute sandy beach, beautiful to watch the sun rise at or have a fire at night. Can boat launch there as well. Staff was very friendly, and facilities were clean. Also, the MDI busses stop there, which is very convenient. All within a few miles are lobster pounds *cough* Rose Eden *cough* that are much cheaper than downtown. The sites, though, are crammed, and unlike previous commenters advise, 10 pm quiet time is definitely not enforced. This was annoying. Wifi was non existing unless right by the office. I get it, camping isn't for being on your phone all day, but i couldn't even receive emails from the various activities i had planned and due to weather, which we could also not check, were reacheduled. This needs to improve if they want new generations pf campers to come back. Fact of life at this point. If the ambiance and setting were more desirable, i could probably let that go. Fyi, our site was riddled with those european fire ants. Bring raid or hot shot. I was stung a few times and it was painful. This is not a reflection of the campground, just an FYI. read more

Friendly, 3rd generation family owned and operated campground. Clean bathrooms/showers and well maintained sites, which include tent sites, RV sites and even some little cabins. A nice pool with great hours and a playground for the little ones. Lots of bikes zooming around too. They even have a dinner service on site, which I believe said something about lobsters. A very short drive into the Bar Harbor Village but far enough away to get peaceful sleep. This is our choice for camping on MDI and we would definitely return again! read more

What more can you ask for when car camping? Cheap, accessible, all the necessary amenities close at hand, Hadley's Point has it all. I would definitely stay here again. Plus a shuttle that'll even take you into town. read more

This campsite was great! Our group was a bunch of first timer gals. We rolled in around 3am, they left directions for us for our campsite. An employee came over first thing in the morning and gave us a tutorial on how to hook everything up. The employee's were all very helpful and welcoming. The bathrooms were clean and well-kept. Our campground space was big-- and even though check-out was at 11am, they didn't have anyone coming that day, so we were able to take our time heading out. We were easily able to get around the town, due to the public local busing, and we were able to get a taxi ride back to the site in the evening. Wonderful time and place! read more

Stayed here for the first time.. but I have been camping for about 10 years, and all over the country. The sites weren't bad but for a 2 day stay, I had to swap sites because they couldn't allow me the same site for 2 days. That means the second morning was wasted waiting for the second site to clear out so I could move my trailer 2 spots over. It was a little pricey compared to other campgrounds... and 50 cents for a 7 minute shower.. really..? It is the only campground (anywhere including other camps in Maine) that has ever charged us for a shower. My last gripe.. I noticed I was out of propane once I got there.. Hadley's said they would sell me propane at 4 dollars a gallon. I usually get my propane at the local hardware store for 15 dollars a tank. At 4 dollars a gallon.. Hadley's would have charged me 80 dollars for the same 15 dollar tank. I'm all for capitalism.. but that was a bit much. That being said.. It was a pleasant, quiet stay. Very clean restrooms and campgrounds. The staff is very friendly and helpful.. but I will probably not stay there again. read more

Friendly staff and lots of sites. However best to discuss with the office your needs as some of the sites are cramped together (the map can be misleading). Also note that quiet hours start at 10PM. However around 9PM, our 'neighbors' had already started complaining and asked us to keep it down. We continued our conversations inside of the RV instead. Overall its a well maintained site with friendly staff who are always willing to help. Price are the camp store are fair. Only complaint is the proximity to your neighboring sites. read more

We were very happy with the grounds. Clean bathrooms. It seemed like someone was cleaning the bathroom every hour. We didn't stick around during the day but when were around it was pretty quiet. Staff were very friendly. read more

We stayed at Hadley Point Campground, for the first time, in a 30' travel trailer, during Memorial Day weekend. May, even during this long holiday weekend, is typically not too crowded in Bar Harbor because the weather can still be quite chilly, so we don't have the experience of staying at this campground when it is full. Pros: The area where we stayed was clean, quiet, and back in the trees. The bathrooms and showers were also clean. The staff was very friendly. Seemed to be good security; staff drove past quite frequently. One of the public boat launches was only a walk away, and Acadia was only minutes away. Close to Ellsworth as well for food shopping. Cons: My only complaint was that, when making the phone reservation, we were not given many choices of campsite. Because I said we did not have a slide out the site turned out to be a very slim fit. And luckily the area where we stayed was not full so we did not have neighbors on either side. Since we prefer a more spacious site, especially if we will have neighbors, I have made note of the better sites so we know which sites to ask for next time. We usually do not depend on getting decent wifi in a campground especially in Maine. But FYI the only wifi here is close to the office. Definitely would stay here again if one of our preferred sites is available. read more

Superlative, but the internet sucks. They have a good playground for the kids to play on. They have tent sites, cabins and, camper sites. Has a heated outdoor pool and a laundry room. The staff are very nice and friendly. There are fire pits at all of the sites and they sell wood. read more

If you are looking for a cheap place to stay this is it. When we checked in three people were in the office and after waiting for ten minutes someone came out of the office to help us. They asked us what site we are on? We never got anything telling us which site we were on, so we were a bit confused. After looking through the bookings they found us. On to our site... it was a pull through which was convenient! What wasn't convenient is the next door campers sewer line was 2 feet from our camp fire pit. The other issue with this is that it is not plumbed where the sewer line ties in... they use rocks so hold the line down. On to our actual stay... if you like camping for the fires and conversations this place is not for you. Quiet hours are strictly enforced by the staff police. We also left our dog in our camper while we did the whale watch which was about 2-3 hours. Our dog stays pretty quiet for the most part. However, they do not allow you to keep your pet in the camper... it's in the rules so this one is on us. But how do they expect to tourist in your tourist city to tour!? The staff police were very quick to tell us about the rules and how we broke them. After we apologized, he still continued to reprimand us. We said it would not happen again twice and he finally left. On to the Facilites... if you want to shower it's going to cost you. 7 mins cost you $0.50. For the most part the bathrooms were clean. The pool was nice but again with the rules... no freebees, no balls, no jumping, etc. we elected to stay away in fear of breaking more rules. Last but not least our power went out several times. We called the office and let them know and they said that you cannot run your A/C with other items in the camper. They never sent someone look at it. Instead my father in law found the main breaker and fixed it himself. The breakers didn't look like they could handle the power. We never felt so glad to leave a place. read more

Campground is clean, bathrooms are clean. The sites are a little on the small side, but not ridiculous. The pool is clean. The store is a little bare. I would come back. The price is right. read more

Horrible, awful treatment by the staff. An older man strode right into our campground at night, shining his light in our eyes so we couldn't see who he was and didn't identify himself. He started threatening us about the quiet hours, which we were observing. He insinuated that we were drunk (we had no alcohol at all) and rowdy, and threatened to kick us off the campground in the middle of the night if he "heard another complaint." Very intimidated, we went into our tent and lay silent and nervous as we heard his truck drive past again and again, and saw the beams of his flashlight on our tent. We had no idea of any complaint at all, and were in fact being quieter than our neighbours, so we don't know if this was a misunderstanding or simply a bad assumption - we were four young women, not families as most other campers seemed to be, so perhaps the staff thought we were trouble. The next morning when I spoke to the office about it, I was also dismissed and treated very rudely. I would especially advise young people, who may be tempted by the low cost of this campground, to stay away. read more
