I looked mostly at the comic and game section but the comic section was very organized. They separated current/new issues from the vintage back issues which were alphabetized. I also glanced at the games and there's many lowkey ones & a section for 2 player games. I came across a choose your own adventure game I've been meaning to buy. This was a downtown area so most of the parking was metered street parking. Free parking after 8pm! I'm glad I found this gem and hope to stop by next time I'm in the area.

Then fast forward at least 15 maybe even 20 years and this guy entirely forgot he had credit because his job took him away from Santa Cruz. But one day he returns to get the batteries changed in his old Pokemon games (which they did quickly and for a very reasonable price) and he was informed he had almost 20 bucks sitting there. That's me. I'm the guy. It's been so long that they could never have told me and I would never have been the wiser. Also, even if I remembered they could have kept the money after so much time had passed and I would have fully understood. But nope, they held on to it and even told me about it. Their collection of retro games is amazing and you can buy modern games there too? It's all you could want in a game store.

I left the store with four movies, I could've easily got more but I decided to get the HELL OUT OF THERE before my wallet took a huge dive. He has little notes around the bookstore to guide you in the right direction if you are unsure of what to read. The selection is so vast, but if need be, Gary is able to order you a book or at least let you know when the book will be back in stock. The kids section is also so cute. There is a little sectioned off area for the kids that has books at the eye level of children and there are so many options from fun kids books to fun, educational books. And so many pens, stickers, and doodles kids (and kids at heart) also love. There are both new and used books in this bookstore, which is amazing because there are so many recent books that you can get at a deal and the quality is still fantastic! This place is truly a gem and I love to visit, and I already look forward to visiting again.

I pointed at a dab tool, he was annoyed to get it out. I asked if I could see the end more closely, he aggressively said "nah you're good" and put it back without looking at me. I immediately walked away and bought the same thing up the street at Puff n Pass where the owner was friendly and showed me what I wanted no problem.
