We went on a Saturday night and it was pleasantly relaxed, which made the whole experience even better. Alex took amazing care of us. He was attentive, kind, and always one step ahead, bringing things before we even had to ask. He also shared great insight about the restaurant and its background, which we really appreciated. The food was as delicious as ever. We always order the grilled octopus and it's a must every time, perfectly tender and full of flavor. This time we also tried a small shrimp ceviche that had a great balance of acidity and spice. We finished with the grilled fish, which was soft, fresh, and really tasty. I skipped the margarita this time, but they are also one of my favorite things to get here. We will definitely keep coming back.

I thought the fish was a little over-fried but my husband liked it that way. The grilled octopus was not overcooked, but in fact very tender, and cooked with this red sauce that made it very juicy. These were their two recommended dishes and I'm glad we got to try them. Just be careful with the water here (like any place in Mexico). I think I got sick because my drink had ice in it, which melted and contaminated my drink. Small mixed ceviche 10/10 - We were pleasantly surprised by the serving size ("THIS is a small?") Grilled octopus with ajillo 9/10 Fried fish (catch of the day) 8/10

Came here for an early dinner. It's right off the freeway. There was no one in the main dining room…read moreand usually that's a bad sign. But not here.....The food was excellent. We ordered some guac and chips and ceviche for the table. Ceviche was fresh and tasty. For entrees I ordered the seafood stew which was delicious. A lot of seafood. My husband got the large shrimp plate w chipotle sauce which was also good. Someone else in my party ordered the octopus which I'm told tasted very good. One of the few restaurants that had a range of desserts. They had chocolate cake, flan and tres leches. The flan was the best by far. The carafe of margaritas were pretty large. Our server was very friendly and accommodating.

They now have a beautiful space on the west side of the the highway about half way from Akumal to Tulum. The restaurant is clean and open. They a a nice garden area courtyard as well. The staff is attentive and efficient. Virginia the hostess was absolutely amazing and friendly. Her family has owned the business for decades. Our waiter was Alfredo who was excellent. All the food was well prepared and presented nicely. Everything we had was delicious. It's definitely aimed a bit more for the North American palette but this does not mean it wasn't really good because it was. Cocktails were made with fresh fruit juices and were top notch. I highly recommend Oscar & Lalo to anyone who is staying in the area or passing by to or from Tulum.

Vibes were immaculate - open air dining overlooking La Avenida Tulum, quick and friendly service, and conveniently located close to a taxi station.

This was an FANTASTIC spot to stop at for a quick lunch before heading into the Tulum ruins…read more Gabriel was our server and he did a fantastic job. We were able to get the wifi to access tickets and keep family updated from home and partake in some of the specialty cuisines this place has to offer. My sister ordered the quesadilla which was really good with the type of cheese that really melts and sticks right into the tortilla. As an accompaniment we were served chips with these carrots, onions, and peppers marinated in olive oil. The pepper was on fire and was spicy as hades but still good. I ordered the Enchiladas Rojas and they were so good. I highly recommend that dish for sure. The restaurant had a lot of shade which was very much appreciated here in this touristic square on a day without many clouds. The music was nice and they have coffee options as well for those that need a little pick me up. My last piece of advice is to order a pitcher, not a glass, but a pitcher of the Mexican Chamoy green juice. It was such a health kick in butt I needed after all the mezcalinas I've been drinking. Thanks for a great meal!
