ORDERED: Tacos de Pescado Was in town & wanted fish tacos before driving 3 hours back home. When I walked into the restaurant, the place smelled delicious! It made me very excited for the meal. The salsa for the chips actually had a spice to them - which I loved!! I ordered the fish tacos & when they came out, the plate was super hot (I was warned)! The rice & beans were good & warm (nothing stood out though) but the fish tacos were so hot that I had to wait a bit before eating them (not a bad problem to have). I wasn't too sure what to expect for the fish tacos but when receiving them, it was slightly disappointing to see that the fish tacos were so plain... The fish itself was lightly seasoned & the 2 additional salsas that were brought to my table definitely brought more flavor. Both the tomatillo & Maria salsas were very good but I couldn't decide which was my favorite so I just kept alternating between the 2. The Mexican salad, of course, brought out more dimension & made it refreshing when added to the tacos. I think a creamy salsa or avocado would've made the meal better but I forgot to ask. If I was craving fish tacos (the thing I order most), I can't say I would come back here for them, but I would come back & try a different dish from them. The staff was lovely & attentive! BATHROOM: I did stop by the bathroom before heading out but there was no air circulation in there at all & on a 100+ degree day it felt like a sauna... in a bad way... Came into the restaurant at 1:30pm on a Sunday & the bathroom trashes were overflowing, there was no toilet seat covers, & it gave an overall sticky feeling. Unfortunately, neither of the stalls had a purse hook on the door or walls either. The restaurant itself is very cute, but the poor attention to the bathroom was a little surprising.

Neat looking place, but pretty stuffy/humid in the afternoon, bathrooms as well. ordered the enchiladas plate with ground beef and side taco and the meat had an interesting texture and unique flavors. i think next time i will try the chicken enchiladas.

Chicken mole

The food here looked ok, but it was bland and lacked depth that typically comes with good Mexican food. I ordered the chicken mole and my wife ordered the carne asada burrito. The mole flavor was not there and it tasted more like a sweet enchilada sauce. The sides were decent, like the beans, but the rice could have stayed in the pot and not on my plate. My wife's burrito was the same story. Bland dry steak and the tortilla had an interesting pillow texture and not in a good way. Along with the food, there's really no vibe here. Odd lighting and no music makes for that awkward moment when you realize you're a loud talker. I will say, the salsas were decent and the staff was very nice, but the food was a not good.

A restautant I've always wanted to tryout but just kept on circling back to my go Mexican restaurants. After putting it off numerous times, and a recommendation from a coworker, I deciced to give it a try. Service: Came in around lunch time. We were a party of 6 but 4 of us arrived earlier. They advised us that they can immediately seat us while we waited. We were provided menus and our choice of drinks. The staff serving us was pleasant. 5 of 5 stars. Food/Offering: I ordered the lunch special of 2 chicken enchiladas with rice and beans. Complementary nachos/salsa were also provided. Although the chicken enchiladas were good, the red sauce was a tad lacking in flavor. The beans and rice were good. Still a 5 of 5 stars. Overall: As a first time visitor, I pleasantly impressed. The pricing is also reasonable. Definitely worth another visit in the future.

A hidden gem, with hacienda vibes. Located in the heart of Clovis, CA. The plate for 3 my parents usually share and it's the plate that has them going back. With unique well thought out flavors. It's more than enough for 2-3 people. The tilapia fajitas is what I usually order. It's one of my favorite dishes, aside the cabbage side they give you with tortilla chips. Most Mexican restaurants normally don't offer tilapia fajitas, so it's one of my go tos when ordering here. The service is always great. Everyone is usually very attentive. And the owner seems to be here a lot. He usually walks around and talks to the guest. Which is very nice and shows his value and connection with his customers.

Cute place, love the fun colors and decor! Service was good! ..but tbh the food was just ehhh Wasn't a fan of their salsa (watery) so I ordered guac instead and that wasn't good either (watery) I ordered the chipotle enchiladas for my entree and they were just ehh, I've definitely had better Overall wasn't the worst experience, just not really good either

Good place for big party. Service, ambiance, food everything went great. We had birthday celebration and waiter put a bday hat on our bday girl and sang bday song. Food was decent. I'd recommend if you want something easy, casual and festive night.

Finally had a chance to check out this restaurant and I was pleased with the service and the food. We came on a Sunday morning before the rush and were seated right away. We ordered the chicken burrito and carne asada burrito. Chips and salsa came out complimentary and tasted so good. The burritos came out pretty fast, covered in sauce and cheese, with rice and beans. The chicken was shredded, which I like. Definitely will be back to try other menu items.

Decided to try Hacienda Toquilla in Clovis. The tacos, enchiladas, beans and rice were pretty good and the service was excellent.

Chicken Mole dinner sized... guess I was supposed to know
Rudy D.

Been here many times and always enjoy the food and service. Never ordered from the lunch menu. Today we decided to do this. My wife ordered the chili rellano and I tried the chicken mole. All was good though I prefer more spice to n the mole. When the bill came I was surprised at the charge of the mole. Owner stopped by (offering shots as usual) and asked him about the mole. He explained I had the larger dinner plate, but said he would see what he could do. Server came to pick up the card and he said he will see what he could do. When he dropped it off, nothing changed. I just let it go.

The food, service and fun Friday night chips and salsa vibe was the best. They have a jumbo margarita that is amazing. But we careful 2 can be dangerous lol.

Two Item Combo with Cheese Enchilada and Chile Verde Burrito

I think this is my favorite sit-down Mexican place in town. We have been here a few times, including their old location a few doors down the road. The food is always hot, fresh, and delicious. The service is always friendly. The prices are reasonable and comparable to other places around. We were so hungry that I forgot to get pictures before we ate... we enjoyed the chips and salsa along with the cabbage slaw (delicious!). I ordered the two-item combo plate with a cheese enchilada and a chile verde burrito which comes with beans and rice, and we shared the jumbo margarita.

Do they have a banquet room for large parties?

The place has place for large party, but the food wasn't good. The drinks were fine, but I wouldn't recommend eating there. I personally wouldn't go back for the food.

Why do I perpetually get a busy signal when calling this place? Do they take phone orders? I have not been able to even try them because the phone is a busy signal at all times

I had no problem getting a ring, however no one picks up. Guess they don't do 'phone orders.' However, the food comes out quick if you can swing a visit. Worth it...

When is this restaurant going to re-open?

I have no idea, I tried calling a couple of weeks ago and it said mailbox was full. I drove by there and people were working inside. I wish they would update their web page or FB page. They will lose customers unless they let people know what is…

Are they finally reopened? I've been wanting their ceviche!

They're OPEN NOW! Haven't been yet but drove by today and it was packed.

Came by at 2:30pm on Saturday but it was closed. Is this place still open for business?

They are moving to the shopping center adjacent to their current location, the Barnyard (Pho 2006, Old Town Waffles). They have a coming soon banner but it doesn't have a date.

What do you serve that would be considered vegan?

There are veggie burritos , veggie enchiladas that you can ask with out cheese , there are veggie tacos !

My plate came out and was also very delicious looking. We dug in and the table got real quiet. The kind of quiet that settles in when people are busy feeding their pie holes with good food. The hubs really enjoyed his burrito and while tge relleno was good, it wasnt my thing. But the beast and rice were lit! Some of the best I've ever had! Then I had to go to the counter to get my bill so I could leave because the waitress disappeared after saying she would bring it to me. House salsa okay. No other in-house made salsa. Beans tasted authentic and the chimichanga was deep fried as advertised (unlike all the other restaurants in Fresno). Unfortunately that's the only good thing I can say about the food. The shredded beef was too salty and there was too much cheese making the texture strange and unpleasant. The only flavor I could taste was the salt. This place goes on the Wall of Shame.

I don't think I've ever felt betrayed by Yelp reviews...until now…read more During a recent road trip we stopped here to picked up some lunch/dinner because tacos are quick and easy and their Yelp rating is high. Location/services: Upon entering the building I immediately noticed the heat. It was a hot 98 degree day and the restaurant felt like an oven and was maybe 3-5 degree cooler than it was outside. I then quickly noticed this was a very simple operation (almost like a food truck), and not much to the menu, but there were folks sitting and eating and a few others waiting to order, so I assumed the food must be great. We ordered 4 meals (tacos with rice/beans) which was meant to be eaten there but after waiting in line and feeling like we were in a hot box, we decided to make it to go. We sat and waited for our food (about 20 mins), we chatted and observed our surroundings and it became very apparent the restaurant was not maintained with basic cleaning because it was very grimy and just plain dirty. I then used the restroom and it was absolutely disgusting. Our ordered was called and the staff was very nice. The food: As I mentioned, we got 4 orders of tacos (all carne asada) with rice/beans, and we asked for salsa and limes. We got grilled jalapenos, lemons and one sandwhich baggy filled with red salsa. Not a big deal. The meat was fine but the tortillas were inedible. They were tough, flavorless, and greasy. The bean and rice were ok. We ate enough to curb our hunger but none of us finish our food. Upon my best judgement, I had convinced myself that the food was gonna be great because their Yelp rating told me so. I was so wrong! One last note, there was nothing here that resembled a bakery/panaderia. So if you think you could also grab a treat here, you are wrong.
