I've stayed here twice. The first time it was cold and we froze due to the poor bed linen, the second time we got sick due to the poorly maintained A/C.
The new manager is rude. He spent most of his time feeding himself, visiting with staff and allowing friends to use the facilities. He dislikes America and Americans and it shows. He lavishes attention on locals, while treating Americans with covert anger. Apparently he is very angry the USA has stopped illegal immigration, and insulted the President of the USA directly to his American guests. Who does that? I guess he did not get the memo this President, wether we like it or not, was overwhelmingly elected in a landslide. Perhaps he needs to look at a precient map?
While the Hotel is classic colonial and beautiful with courtyards and a fountain, the rooms are not so great. If you travel in the heat of summer a/c is a must. Unfortunately maintenance does not spend money on A/C filters and you WILL walk away with severe sinus related issues. We both experienced extreme allergy attacks that went into respatory issues due to the poor a/c maintenance. I was perfectly healthy before sleeping in their cesspool of bad filtration. Getting over this took many days and forced me to take medication I don't normally have to take.
Although not a picky sleeper or one who complains about bed comfort, THE BEDS ARE HORRIBLE. I don't think they have been upgraded in decades. One can feel the lumps, springs, concave from the last million guests. The sheets are cheap and thin, pillows as flat as a pancake. Concerning towels, they are polyester and old. The same ones they had 2 years ago!
Concerning the TV. Their main clientele were Americans but all TV was in Spanish..the menu, the sub titles, the shows. Proof to me they want your money but have a get the hell out Yankee attitude. But hey the maids have something to watch while they clean the room, right?
Beware they will try to keep your deposit by claiming damages to their ancient linens. Which btw you do not get a full set. We lacked wash clothes. I didn't dare ask Mr. Rude Abrasive. Things were much more friendly under the prior happy fun loving management,as this guy was a racist jerk. I don't appreciate being punished for my country's prosperity or politics!
The Latino guests were allowed a dog that constantly barked when left alone or disturbed at night. The owner did nothing, nor did the hotel. There is no quiet time, guests are allowed to be rowdy and drunk in the echo chamber Court yard until well past midnight.
This business is dependent, possibly owned by the dental cabal and they put ZERO money into it, because you dear reader are a captive audience.
Take pictures of everything. Do not leave your valuables in your room for cleaning, do not be bullied by Mr. Rude. Do not let them rip off your deposit. Be sure to get a receipt for payment of you hotel bill. PRESENT IT TO YOUR DENTAL GROUP FOR REEMBURSEMENT ON DAY ONE!
The dental group will NOT solicit this information when calculating your fees and you will not get the promised free stay unless YOU BRING IT UP. Even though they do thousands of these , they conveniently "forget". It's up to you. read more
